Well, it certainly opened up some interesting possibilities.

Well, it certainly opened up some interesting possibilities. But where's River Song? Including this: If Madame Vashda and Jenny are Conan-Doyle's basis for Holmes and Watson, and they're married, is that a spoiler that Sherlock and John will tie the knot in series 3? Seriously, though, having read the review on AV Club, apparently there were numerous references to a Second Doctor adventure with something called the Great Intelligence, which included a serial called "The Abominable Snowman" and had the Great Intelligence using robot Yeti. The whole bit about the London Underground was a reference to that. You know, I've complained a bit that in the Moffat era, emotional resonance has often taken a backseat to the plot. So, of course, that was completely reversed here; the plot seemed almost incidental. Plus, any jabs at Victorian values are just fine with me. I may have more thoughts later...

Heh. Just rewatched and noticed the riff on the Sherlock theme as The Doctor walked in to question the Great Intelligence. Amusing...
