Huh.Former BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER star JAMES MARSTERS has hatched plans for a new superhero TV show. The 43-year-old actor, who also appeared in the US TV show ANGEL, is currently shopping a pilot about a "conflicted hero" who attacks with chains and razors. He says, "(As a child) superpower and the whole proving yourself physically and fighting was very interesting to me." 18/12/2005 21:33 Karen-- Saw this tidbit in the USAToday magazine which comes with the Sunday paper. It went on to say that his 9 year old son was not impressed with his stint as Milton Fine because he was more into Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. I really really thought his son was close to 20? So was extremely confused by the entire blurb. Could he have been pulling someone's chain?

Sue - awhile back, someone - I think it may have been Lady Di, or maybe Deb - told me that James' son was a little kid, not a teenager as I'd heard before. I remember whoever it was referred me to some interview or something, where James was saying his son was 7 years old. I can't remember where the article was or what it was all about, but I remember it seemed definitive (was a real interview type of article, no just some fan speculation). It was a couple of years ago, so - yes, I'd say his son really is 9.

Wow, cal - you sound so sure, a person would think you'd given birth to him yourself.

A site called AfterEllen.com has posted an excellent interview with Iyari Limon; among the topics she discusses is how her role as Kennedy helped her with her own coming out process. Oh, and that she was once married to Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite. No, really. She also said something interesting about her decision not to do a horror movie she was up for a role in: ...I got offered this one horror film and I turned it down and I felt really good about turning it down because I felt like--the Buffy fans are the most loyal fans, I just love them, and I thought it's like I have a responsibility now. And I know whatever I do, whatever I choose to work on, they're going to be following it and they're going to be watching it.If you'd like to read the whole interview, just click here.

An interesting little tidbit from Jeffrey Bell, currently executive producer of Day Break and former e.p. for Angel, The X-Files, and Alias: This series clearly follows a similar suspense-filled path as your other work. How has your experience on X-Files, Angel, and Alias prepared you for working on this series? From X-Files, you [learn to] always aim for excellence. [Creator] Chris Carter would say, "If you don't try to make the most awesome, amazing X-Files show possible, you don't have a shot at making it good." From Angel, it's all about the emotions, stupid. Joss just hammered into all of us that ultimately, if you had to choose between logic and emotion, then go with emotion. You want to build as logical a show as possible, but if there's no emotion, people won't care. That was a profound influence on me, and I've forced that on people I've been involved with since then. On Alias, anything's possible. JJ just had this amazing ability to go "And then, this will happen!" And you're like, "Oh, my God! That's so cool!" A willingness to go for the "holy shit" is what I took from Alias. It's a pretty interesting article all around, and can read in its entirety here. Oh, and a fun side note: Bell was the one who pitched the Mexican wrestling story idea that got made into the Angel ep about Numero Cinco, and he reports that if you paid attention during the Day Break pilot you saw Taye Diggs' character run past a man putting on a luchador mask.

I don't know if anyone else saw this good news at tvguide.com's news page: community.tvguide.com/thread.jspa?threadID=700014659" Today's News: Our Take Casting About: Firefly's Fillion Fronts New Series Nathan Fillion has claimed the lead role in Drive, the mid-season Fox drama chronicling an underground race across America and exec-produced by former Firefly boss Tim Minear. Fillion, who initially passed on the gig last spring (due to a scheduling conflict), takes over for Ivan Sergei, who played Alex Tully, a charming, rogue landscaper searching for his abducted wife, in the original pilot." leftylady
