I certainly have no problem with moving to the "Stars/Characters" section, but I also have no problem keeping the thread titled "ATS/JM" (spelled out, of course) as well as keeping the little explanation Alexandra has at the top of each new thread.

I vote for staying on the more heavily trafficked "Misc Board". Our discussions (almost) always involve Spike, but really, they are pretty far-ranging in the sense that they delve into the storylines, character developments, metaphors, analysis of various types. So, I'd like to just keep going as we have - Part 3, 4, 5. . . etc. I like the idea of more people seeing it and possibly contributing, etc.
I am glad the editors considered giving us our own board - I can't say I really understand their "no" decision, but I will respect it without mentioning it again after getting this out of my system: Anyone else could do as we have, and start a discussion in Misc about any character, and see if it generated enough activity to merit it's own section. We wouldn't have our own section because "Spike fans are getting special treatment", but because the numbers warrant it - anyone else that came up with these numbers would get the same!
As for the name, ATS/JM works for me, and I also like the opener Alexandra always uses.
As for OUR name . . . hmmmm . . . I appreciate everyone's efforts to replace "Spikettes", but nothing has really grabbed me yet. And I sure haven't come up with anything on my own - there's always the simple "Spike fans" . . . Spikesters? Spikophilliacs?

Do you have shiny hair, Alexandra? Should I follow you? I don't care on what board this discussion continues--so long as I can find it. And I will abide everyone else's preference for threadname (right word?), whatever it may be. Just color me wishy-washy. Or amiable and agreeable, if that's more pleasant to contemplate.

(This is an historic post.) Suggested name instead of Spikoholics or Spikettes: the Soulful Spike Society, building on our Linguistics Chair's suggestion of the Soulful Society. (We could call ourselves 'S' Cubed, or the SCubies.) *Grin* A question: I can't seem to raise my wildfeed URL, www.leoffonline.com/It looks like it has disappeared. Anyone with any information on this URL?

Xander missed the boat with Willow. How foolish he was back when he could have returned her love, but chose to pine after Buffy, and date Cordelia.
Unlike Buffy, Willow loved him deeply, in "that way". And I think he could have loved her the same way if he had given it half a chance. Buffy will never love Xander "that way" and he deserves to have someone who will - as all the characters do. So I can't get on the B/X ship. I have to add that I don't feel very sorry for Xander on this - he was foolish passing up Willow, and he needs to move on with Buffy. He could find a great match if he wanted to. He isn't perfect but he is attractive and smart and fun and well-employed - loyal, brave, etc. No self-respecting woman will want him though if he keeps his heart in reserve for Buffy.
SPIKE & FAITH: Well, I think Faith is pretty much a goner, so it's a moot point. I know Eliza D. doesn't want to continue in the role, so there can be no new Slayer unless Faith dies. I'd like to see Spike simply find someone new.

Alexandra, I just went to the loeffonline site (sp?) (10:16 p.m.,ET, Monday)and it was there, just as normal. Maybe you just hit a high traffic time in Outer Mongolia, or wherever the site is actually located, physically. Side observation: it's so strange to gather to chat at places that aren't places! I suspect I'm not quite ready for virtual reality....

deborah: All you say is well-founded, but I just can't see Spike as a victim - or rather, I can't seem him solely as a victim. He definitely got his own licks in, and fairly often. He was remorseful about two things I can think of - not being able to save Dawn (and therefore Buffy), and his attack on Buffy. Being remorseful for two actions out of thousands of murders, etc., just isn't that impressive. Actually, it IS impressive for a vampire - but it isn't enough to expect to get a lot of warm fuzzies.
Let me add that this doesn't excuse Buffy and the Scoobies abusive behavior - but I just couldn't be . . . more angry at Xander (e.g.) for treating Spike badly, than at Spike for treating Xander badly. Also, they were all (including Spike) going through a "growing up" period, dealing with difficulties and traumas and threats and they behaved like the immature people they were.
There definitely has been a double-standard when it comes to forgiving Spike as opposed to Angel, but Spike is going to come out ahead on this - at least that's the way it is looking to me. It looks (to me anyhow) as if he will have his forgiveness too, and it will be of the hardwon, solid variety.

Or maybe there was site redecoration going on. When they're uploading new stuff, you can't visit them.

I have a fondness for the Misc. Board. I think it feels more comfortable because Misc. seems like neutral ground compared to Stars/Characters where we would be rubbing shoulders with all the more acceptable buffy stars. The only advantage of the Stars board is that nobody ever posts there and we'd probably have it mostly for Spike, i.e. less moving the thread. Ironic, no?
Also giving Spike his own board doesn't increase the work, it only moves it. If we move boards Misc. will simply go back to being the sleepy, quick little read it was before.
There are other sites that have singled Spike out for his own board simply due to the volume of posts the Spike topic get. Plus, Jamesmarsters.com has shut down and people are looking for another place to post. Scoopme is attractive because it's a superior site which attracts intelligent fans with interesting points of view.I urge the PTBs to reconsider.
If we do move I vote the name and intro stay the same and we leave a forwarding address on Misc. for a few weeks.
I do think it's time to start the next thread before the next Buffy tomarrow.

Part Six is now created. This will give us time for the group to ponder any move decision for awhile. For now, it seems most either don't care where we land, or prefer to stay on the Miscellaneous Board. I agree that moving before the next episode is a good idea. 'See' you in Part Six.
