I personally decided that it's most prudent to post after 8pm Pacific time. Those who live in those time zones are now watching the episode.Does anyone click on ScoopMe during an episode? If so, why? I can't imagine anyone running to the computer during a commercial break to see if anyone's written a spoiler on the board. Either way, I clearly note on the header that there is spoilage within. However, I still won't post until after 11:00 Eastern so that those on the West Coast can spend time in here while they wait for the show to start.I hope we don't have any Hawaiian lurkers. I can't stay up that late. :-)

Completely disagree. With Faith in the mix, Buffy doesn't have the ability to think of herself as THE slayer, the one and only anymore, especially since in reality she is the one who is the anomole (she should have died and stayed dead at the hands of the Master; she was lucky Xander and Angel found her in time). By standing there in front of Faith and pronouncing herself as THE slayer showed a complete lack of respect for Faith, and that's what did a lot to drive a wedge between the two the first time -- everyone's unwillingness to accept Faith as a slayer, always looking to Buffy. Everything Buffy has that makes her special, Faith has as well.

So, here was my question at the end of the night (or episode since my night is lasting longer than usual)... Did the final outcome (Faith over Buffy) work for or against Caleb and the FE's original plans? I would have bet a lot of money that the FE was planning on using the guise of Buffy to cause mayhem with the troops, even lead them (with all the talk of following, etc.). Yet, Buffy being kicked out goes against that idea. So, what did Caleb mean when he said Buffy got the message even if she didn't know yet (sorry for the paraphrase - I can't remember the exact wording he used)?

Rob, be glad we don't have to wait until it's aired in every market -- many of those overseas markets take months to get an ep.

Well - P . . . I mean there's Power, but . . . P is usually a "free form" variable, like f, or q. But more than that, that equation Nan posted just made no sense to me, no matter how I looked at it. I even went to the website to look up that fanfic and see if Nan had any typos in it (which she didn't), and see the context it was in (and Nan, that was some context). But it didn't help.It really seems to be some very specific reference to something, but I'm stumped.

I don't remember his exact words, but didn't he say something to the effect of pushing her over the edge, and the rest of them following right along? I got the impression he intended for Buffy to lead the second raid on the vineyard, but perhaps didn't count on the police raid at the Bronze that ignited the potentials. Then again, perhaps TFE was controlling the cops specifically, which is why they became Faith's execution squad, and all of this played into TFE's hands perfectly. It will be interesting to see it play out.

On Buffy not being THE Slayer.OK. She's "a" Slayer. But that doesn't change my thought on what I wrote. She has good reason to trust her instincts. But she's awful at getting the others on board. She doesn't know how to do that.

No doubt my little town is not the only town in the country that delays the airing of Buffy.Who knows when the entire continental US has finished watching?I'm not done until 11pm EDT. I can only say that I have no objection to people posting on the new ep starting at 9pm EDT. I don't feel it limits my access to the board, if people follow the convention of being clear in their subject headers.

No argument. But I've said it before, Buffy is a great warrior but a lousy general. She often has the right ideas, but has no clue how to motivate the troops. The Scoobies grew up with her, developed with her and as she moved into leadership roles, she earned their unquestioning respect. But now she's got the SiTs, and she has to inspire confidence in them. The fight in the alley with the cops inspired confidence in them, which was a lot of the reason that they stood up against Buffy later. In fighting for Faith, they banded together as a unit and felt the need for the mission. All they ever got from Buffy was a lot of speeches about how they were all going to get themselves killed. She walked them along, but never really tested them outside of controlled atmospheres. You can't know how your going to react in battle until you've been in battle, felt the adrenaline pumping. Yeah, ok, she locked them in a crypt once with a vampire, and even though they managed to live through it, all she had was attacks. Giles never even trained her like that -- he worked her up slowly, and focused lovingly on her growing development. I don't know -- I just never got the impression she was very much for instigating esprit de corps. Faith accomplished that in one night at the Bronze. Even Buffy forgets how she was the one who wanted to go on a date when Giles said no. And even now she went on a date with Wood. She's taken breaks, but apparently allowed the potentials very few. It took Faith 10 seconds to get to the heart of the problem. Not saying that Faith is the do-all-end-all. On her own, she'll probably get the rest of the potentials killed. But between them, if Buffy wasn't so "my way or the highway", they might beat Caleb and the First Evil.

I'll second that... What I was getting at earlier, regarding Buffy having "saved the world, A LOT", is that experience must count as something right? She may not be the one and only Slayer in town but she is certainly the town's Slayer. I happen to *love* Faith so I actually get why everyone wanted her tonight but she isn't the senior slayer here and even she recognizes that fact. That being said, I am interested to see how Faith leads the SiTs.Oh, and I think it was Spring who commented on Buffy's mature way of handling the situation in the end. To be honest, I'm not sure it was maturity so much as exhaustion and... a hidden desire to have it all "magically" lifted off her shoulders. It will be interesting to see how hard it will be for Buffy to come back now that she's been told to leave. It's one thing to turn your back on something, it's quite another to be handed your walking papers.

Spring, I'm beginning to think that T = time, E=energy or electricity, and P=pain. It's the formula for how/why the chip fires, apparently, according to the context. So I suspect that P is pain. If it's not straight calculus or something, then my mathematical inabilities are not the problem if it doesn't make sense to you either. I've e-mailed the author. Perhaps she'll respond to my question. Thanks for giving it thought, anyway. If I get an explanation, I'll pass it along. Nan

I think the answer will lie in the bonding of the two slayers, when both realize they each bring something unique to the table and decide to co-lead the group. Buffy did dis Faith big time; even though Buffy is the senior slayer (and I'll give her that), Faith isn't just another underling. Neither is Giles or the other Scoobies, regardless of what Buffy may think. She seems to think that the whole room was against her, but is it fair to say that perhaps she was against the room first?I know a certain S'Cubie who shall remain nameless because it's me who came into the SSS all aprehensive about how he'd be received, and the result was he wound up turning the room against him (to a degree) because he was standoffish. Buffy's getting the same thing, methinks.
