Mary said: "Because we HAVE seen different kinds of vampires in the Buffyverse, we probably need to be rather fluid in our understanding of them. Maybe there really aren't a lot of hard and fast rules." I'll go with this Mary. Another thing I was wondering, remember how Dracula was able to put her in some kind of thrall, along with the other gals and then made Xander his minion, has any of the others, mainly Angel or Spike, been able to do this. I remember The Master was able to do this to Buffy in Prophecy Girl (I think that was episode).

I'd have to rewatch The Master scene - or just take your word for it! But Dru - most definitely. I don't recall any others. Mary Statz

Yep, that is an interesting theory - that Spike rejected the idea that Buffy loved him so she would leave. Well . . . no, I'm think I'm sticking with the idea that he was being true to himself and to her, because I can't see him lying to her at that point - saying it, but not believing it. Becoming all "lie to her for her own good" paternal and protective at that point? NO. I don't like it. Though I will agree that Spike would see the "releasing her to leave" aspect of rejecting her love as a big plus . . . as the reason he didn't just smile at her, but told her outloud that she didn't love him. I think Spike sees Buffy as he saw Robin's mother - as being limited in her ability to love by the necessity to be devoted to her primary mission (though she is beginning to feel free of that at the end of the ep). And also, he knows full well she's cookie dough. And, he no longer needs her to love him, so he can just be objective and honest.

I'll do this only for her seasons on Buffy Cordy at her funniest… Oh so many gems, but what is in my head now: "I hate to interupt your downward mobility"-'Welcome to the Hellmouth' Cordy at her coolest…Staking a vamp in 'Graduation Day part 2' Cordy at her most violent… Stomping bugs in "What'a My Line 2" Cordy at her most surprised…Finding Willow and Xander together in 'Lovers Walk' Cordy at her craziest… confronting Gorch at the end of 'Homecoming' Cordy at her sexiest…getting out of her car at the beginning of 'The Wish' Cordy at her punkiest… N/A Cordy at her most vulnerable… laying in the hospital at the end of 'Lovers Walk' Cordy at her most disturbing... Talking about Xander's family at the beginning of 'Amends' Cordy at her most feeble…hospital scene in 'Lovers Walk' Cordy at her most naked…My dreams, and in FHM Cordy at her most beautiful…Homecoming

Mary asked: Is at $8300 on the e-bay auction. Patti, did you have to get a second job?? I had to sell my soul. But, turns out there's quite a market, so there was no problem.

That was absolutely beautiful. It also gave me some feeling about my vision of Spike as the Phoenix. Didn't he die to save the world? Doesn't atheist Joss give us image after image of christian symbolism? Resurrection doesn't seem so impossible now, does it?

//They can, and I think they should. Angel isn't about slayers. I am thrilled and relieved and thankful in the utmost that Spike will be in the cast of Angel next year, but I hope the show will not bring little slayettes over. Don't want to dilute the show TOO much. Remember how irritating it was not to have enough screen time for the main characters on Buffy this year. I want all the Spike scenes possible... // I go with what Patti said. No slayers in LA.

Anya at her funniest… "Willow's a demon?!?!" in Checkpoint (don't know why, but that's always been my favorite) and "Glad to help, wanna live." in 'The Gift' Anya at her coolest…The Bunny song- OMWF Anya at her most violent…Swordplay in 'Chosen' Anya at her most surprised…Xander telling her he wont marry her in 'Hells Bells' Anya at her craziest… driving in 'Triangle' Anya at her sexiest…So much to choose from, but I'd go with sex scene in 'Entropy' Anya at her punkiest... The Bunny song, OMWF Anya at her most vulnerable… Getting dumped in Hells Bells Anya at her most disturbing... her dealing with death in The Body, so sad Anya at her most feeble…trying to get someone to make a wish against Xander in 'Entropy' Anya at her most naked…Seducing Xander in 'The Harsh Light of Day' Anya at her most beautiful…Physically-when Xander announces their engagement in 'All the Way' spiritually-a toss up between 'The Body' and staying with Giles in 'Grave'

You know, we're all assuming that these newly powered baby slayers are gonna be good guys. What if some of them aren't? Power corrupts, and these--some of them--are only children. They'll need guidance. Giles has commented about "rogue slayers" and how dangerous they are. We need females on Angel, why not, say, a newly-powered ten or eleven year old.

Why are we assuming that all the newly minted slayers are babies? We have no idea how a potential is chosen to be the next slayer - is she always younger than the current slayer? Judging from what we've seen, I don't think so. Does anyone know how old Faith is, and how old Wood's mum was? There could have been many potentials older than Buffy, who were potentials without being aware of it. Now that they're all activated, we could have older women slayers all over the place. We have discussed the advantages of adding a mature woman to the Angel cast - here's an excuse. Diana Rigg, Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Kathy Bates... Lots of good mature actresses out there. Anne D

Oh, I never meant to seriously suggest that Angel should incorporate any of the proto-slayers (yeah, I know they've been "empowered" so we can't call them potentials anymore, altho "Slayers-In-Training still works I think). Still wouldn't it be a hoot if the season opener at least had one scene of 20-30 proto-slayers, Dawn, Xander, Andrew, Giles and Buffy, filing out of the Hyperion onto the school bus. Thanking Angel for the use of the hotel over the summer, the resources of W & H to set up their new Slayers' Academy and the loan of Wesley to begin training new watchers. Gunn, Fred and Lorne watch them leave commenting (maybe DAve can supply actual dialogue) on how they'd rather face the Beast AND Angelus than 2 dozen teenaged mini-slayers--mildewed towels, spilled nail polish, crumbs in the sheets, etc. Seriously, at the very end of Chosen, alone with wounded on the highway outside of Sunnydale where are they going to go right then and there? Clearly to L.A. and the Hyperion. (And maybe Buffy will tell Angel what happened with Spike.)
