Oh, so this is where the cool S'cubies are hanging out. Mind if I join you, until Emily comes over and demands her turn? It's been a bad day on the board, huh?

I mourn the passing of discussion in Part 188. I waited and waited and finally lost my response to Nan, and now I have to leave. I grieve. Julia, durnit I IM'd Patti, but she left before she saw it. Rae's here now, so we could IM her. . . .

In terms of demonic activity, yeah, but I had a good time. Taking off for home in a few. Stayed late to catch up on what my afternoon of flirting cost me at work. Feeling virtuous for staying, and also caught up, so.

Between Sammy and Albert Pujols, I think we have an injury draw. Besides, the Cubbies won last night. Can we agree to ignore Cedeno's little spitting incident?

Twins mopped the field with the Yankees tonight, 8-2...increasing our division lead to 3 1/2 games over the Indians.
For the moment, life is good...

Says she whose Cardinals have the best winning percentage in the Major Leagues. I'm glad to hear you missed the FL storms - let's keep our fingers crossed for the safety of our fulltime FL S'cubies.

Cubbies will make post season and from then who knows.
Hopefully Sosa's hip injury isn't too bad and he gets back into the lineup sharpish.
We have 5 more games to play than San Diego who are 0.5 back in the WildCard so I think we are in a good position.
I can't believe how well the Cards have played since the allstar break.

We have 5 more games to play than San Diego who are 0.5 back in the WildCard so I think we are in a good position. I can't believe how well the Cards have played since the allstar break. We're pretty happily stunned, too. There's a theory in Redbirdland that the Cards do well in even-numbered decades. If you examine their history, that's when they do best in the post-season and win their World Series. So, we're due. The Cubbies are certainly overdue but I wouldn't hold my breath. On the other hand, once you get into the post-season, anything can happen: that's why they actually play the games!
