Fall is upon us - and hopefully next Wednesday we'll all be tuning it to (quietly) cheer on the new series 'Lost' on ABC - but other than that, what are you planning to be viewing and hoping to be discussing here? Post your thoughts here and feel free to discuss!

I'll start off. I'm going to watch Lost - hopefully more than 3 weeks...and since it isn't on FOX or the WB, I do have hope.
I'm going to be watching The Amazing Race. So shoot me.
I'm going to watch Tru Calling, for as long as it lasts, tho that's not looking so happy currently.
Alias doesn't start again til January...so other than the DVDs of Wonderfalls and Buffy season 7 and my new Angel season 4s...and reruns... I'm up for suggestions.

I'll be watching "Nip/Tuck" until it's over in a few weeks. I can't wait for "Lost" to start. I hope it lives up to the good reviews it's been getting. "Medical Investigations" was just different enough that I'll keep watching it (Neal McDonough!) and when "CSI New York" starts, I'll watch it because I lurve Gary Senise. Don't spank me, but I'll be watching "Smallville" (love Lionel and Lex Luther) and "Charmed" (CC will be on it) on the WB - until I lose interest, which happened last year. Also, "Joey", "Father of the Pride", "and Arrested Development" when I need a giggle. "Survivor" - because the gang at work does. "Alias" in 2005 and "Tru Calling", if they air it. And of course, reruns of "Buffy" and "Angel", and anything else that the alumni happen to be in. *whew* Aren't you glad you asked?

I'll be watching Gilmore Girls.
Maybe Lost, if it lasts more than 3 episodes.
And my DVDs.
There is nothing for me in TV until Season 6 of Angel starts.

Lost for sure. Jack and Bobby, despite which network it airs on. Ditto Gilmore Girls and Everwood, both of which I was watching well before the WB screwed us over. Without a Trace, because it's well acted and written, compelling, and as addictive as my computer poker game. Alias when it returns in 2005. And I was thinking I might give Desperate Housewives a try, as it looks like it could be kitchy fun. Other than that, I'll probably keep an eye on the reviews when new shows debut, see if anything strikes my fancy.

Hey guys, I asked Patti to start this thread cause I'm looking to see what else might be good and I knew I'd miss answers that got swallowed up on the Main Thread. Also, I might be recommending one of the new shows (see below)--at least I'm going to give it a try. Please read all the way to the bottom because I've got a question about dates of mini-series and I know somebody out there has the answer(s). Sue Question: Other than "Lost" what are you all planning on watching this fall?My thoughts: Sunday: I often don't watch at all, but if I do might remember that Celebrity Poker is now on Sunday. I assume we'll have Alias watchers but I feel like it's too late to get into it now plus, its not starting until Jan, right? Except for the fact that we hate them it could be a WB evening: Jack and Bobby at 9, Buffy at 10, Angel at 11 (all times Eastern). Or maybe (hey, it's getting interesting reviews): (quoting from review) "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" (9 p.m., ABC, Oct. 3). A delightful pop soap opera satire skewering suburban lifestyles with a talented female ensemble that includes Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria ("L.A. Dragnet") and Marcia Cross ("Melrose Place"). With a twist of "Twin Peaks"-ian mystery, "Desperate Housewives" is narrated from beyond the grave by one of the women of Wisteria Lane. Monday: Football(?) I can't find anything worthwhile. LAX did not impress me. Tuesday: 8pm: Gilmore Girls ***Edit: Seems that Veronica Mars will be premiering on WED, then immediately moving the following week to TUES. Go here for zap2it preview ( with a Buffy mention): tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,773|90079|1|,00.html Wednesday Obviously, "Lost" at 8 pm 9 pm: Well, I'm a big West Wing fan but "Kevin Hill" is getting good reviews and there isTaye Diggs But, I'm gonna give this a try: (It was announced for Tuesday nights in the Buffy spot. But for now TV Guide is showing the premiere in Kevin Hill's time slot on Wed. There's a clue--must be a good show if they are going to start jerking around the time slot before it even airs! Okay, you're going to think I'm crazy, but I read an interesting review for new show: Veronica Mars -- on UPN at 8 pm (either Tuesday or Wed nights): Here's what a critic called Mike Duffy (Knight-Ridder) says about it: "Fresh, witty Veronica Mars is one of the fall season's most pleasant surprises. It features a captivating breakout starring performance by talented Kristin Bell (Deadwood) as fearless teen sleuth Veronica Mars. Mars juggles her hectic life as a sly high school outsider and an apprentice private-investigator who works with her father in a California beach community. Both a comic drama of social manners and a beguiling whodunit, Veronica Mars is a pop noir delight. (Aside from Sue: okay, change "p-i" to "vampire slayer" and "father" to "watcher" and what does this sound like?) 10 pm: Might give CSI:NY a try if Jim can give up L&O. ThursdayWell, I was looking forward to Tru Calling, but what, only 6 eps? What a joke! FridayI'll see how Joan of Arcadia is looking UPN is also doing a repeat of the Veronica Mars pilot on the 24th. hmmm Sat?Looks like a lot of TV, but I probably won't stick with all of it, just looking for one potentially decent show per night. Also: Could somebody post on this thread or the bulletin board--when the Sci-Fi mini-series are coming up: Farscape and Earthsea and anything else you think is worth watching.Looking forward to seeing what shows the rest of you are planning on watching. Nothing. I'll be watching absolutly nothing. Now that Angel and Buffy are over I have no reason to watch the telly. Well there's always re-runs in the morning and afternoon. Other than that I think I'll be sitting online or at work... yep, thats about it.

I was planning to watch Tru Calling and Lost, and even do reviews of Tru Calling - but I just heard a rumor that it might be cut to just 6 shows this season, and might not even make its originally late November start date. It was all very iffy.
I may rethink the whole thing if they go with just six eps. I would think that would mean cancellation, and it might not be worth putting any effort into it.
I have watched Mark Harmon's show a couple of times now . . . the one about naval intelligence - Navy - NCIS. It's very well done and I love the characters in it and am going to try to catch it more regularly. The gothic female scientist, the English coroner, the cutie-pie guy who's the side kick . . .

I'm not too sanguine about the fall TV season. I'm going to give Lost and Jack and Bobby a try, but no guarantees. Crossing Jordan and The West Wing are the shows I really care about. I'll probably keep watching Tru Calling, as long as it lasts, and maybe Enterprise. Aside from that, whatever looks interesting on PBS, but that's hardly discussion material. I can, however, guarantee that Paul will be watching American Idol. Anything else depends on when we can fit a DVD player and DVDs into the budget. It may be a while. And an additional note: Mark Valley of the late beloved Keen Eddie is going to be in something called Boston Legal. It's on at the same time as CJ, which I'm already planning to tape because 10PM is too late for me to watch anything. Stupid networks.

I'll be keep watching ER, The Simpsons, Malcom in the Middle, Arrested Development, Joan of Arcadia, Trauma, Bodywork and What Not To Wear. If I can remember it, I'll give Alias a try. The only new show I plan to watch is Lost.

If so how are they going to do THAT? I saw Without a Trace the other night and really enjoyed it. Also, I left out celebrity poker, but I will watch that also. Also, Dr. 90210....

I got nothin' new to contribute: Sundays are Charmed, Jack and Bobby, Celebrity Poker, and maybe Desperate Housewives. Tuesday is Gilmore Girls, Wednesday is Lost, and Tru Calling on Thursdays for as long as it lasts. Friday, Saturday, and Monday are pretty much dead in the water, as usual.

Jack and Bobby? I have missed hearing about it. Is it about the Kennedys? If so how are they going to do THAT? I saw Without a Trace the other night and really enjoyed it. Also, I left out celebrity poker, but I will watch that also. Also, Dr. 90210.... Without a Trace rocks. I'm just sayin'. Jack and Bobby isn't about the Kennedys, but the play on the name is intentional--it's about two brothers, one of whom will be president of the U.S. in the middle of this century while the other dies at a fairly young age (we found out which is which during the season premiere--I'd be happy to PM you with the info if you'd like). We also get to see both brothers interact with the woman who will eventually marry one of them, a twist that's entertaining in and of itself. Christine Lahti plays the boys' mother, and it's the kind of juicy role I'm sure many actresses would have killed to play. But it is surprisingly intriguing to watch knowing everything that happens is shaping the future leader of our country. And I'll be right there with you in the Celebrity Poker viewing.
