after all those weeks in a row of supernatural, thursday nights are kind of weird without it.
it's too bad it won't be back till mid-january.

Supernatural fans have gotten an early holiday gift—the editing crew has put together a special sneak preview of the first three episodes to air when the show returns in January.

I'd like to declare a moratorium on pets being murdered on television shows, kthxbye.

i agree re: pet murder on tv.
i didn't really like this episode. tonally it reminded me a lot of another episode i didn't like this season, the one about the ghost killing off the people who'd been so horrifically cruel to him (sorry, i forget the title). in both cases i will be happy to never watch the episode again.

Sam and Dean looked so young just a few years ago.
OOOO! Flashback ep. 1997 - Kansas. First day of school. Heh. The young actors are so in character.
OMG......Dean in red shorts and a red headband and a whistle playing dodgeball. Priceless.

Wow, that boys have changed so much in 4 years. Particularly Sam's hair.

OK, these look like flashbacks to the 70s, not the 90s. Unless my memory totally fails me.
Now Dean's outfit looks like the 80s.
Oh, and I get it now. FlashbackDean towers over FlashbackSam whereas Sam towers over Dean in present day. Heh.

It's Sam's teacher, isn't it?

It's Sam's teacher, isn't it? Oh, guess not. And I'm not sure I buy FlashbackDean.

well, personally i enjoyed this episode. it reminded me of "earshot" on buffy, though i'm not entirely sure why. i didn't really like the one before it very much, though. and i'm still wondering when they're going to get back to the main arc of the season; i've been waiting for them to get back to it since the show came back on the air a few weeks ago. [congrats on med school, liz! i should log in here more often. ]

I loved flashback!Dean. I thought that guy didn't an excellent job--he totally reminded me of Jensen. i thought he did a great job, too. in addition to acting similarly to adult!dean, i even thought the two of them had some facial similarities, especially around the eyes and the mouth...

I thought his voice was spot on, I'm just not sure about the rest. I'll probably have to watch it again to see.
