I'm betting either Pam got rid of the body or Franklin Mott did. Mott was scouting the house for his own nefarious reasons. He could have gotten rid of the body as a means to get his hooks into Jessica. Pam, OTOH, gets as close to maternal as she is capable with Jessica. She might have done it acting in loco parentis. Finding the body was no problem. Either vampire most assuredly could smell it and track it to its location. Good point! Should have thought of that. One thing I did notice was that Eric commanded Sookie to let him in and she replied "Please come in, Mr. Northman" as if she were under his thrall. But I thought one of the things that made her special was that she couldn't be put under the thrall of vampires? But I figure if anyone can put someone under a thrall, it would be Eric. Eric knows he can't glamour Sookie. It's one of the attractions she has for him. No, Sookie was unthralled and chock full of free will. I think she caught Eric's change of mood and realized that he had stopped joking around and was deadly serious. The phrasing was just Sookie's reaction to the realization that there was a werewolf in her house and that Eric was the only one who could protect her from it. What I enjoyed noticing during the Eric/Sookie scenes was how the camera angles were placed mostly from Eric's POV, looking down. Every angle between them emphasized how small and helpless she looks to him... ...and how disturbed he is with himself for reacting to it. I'm still cracking up over the "passionate, primal sex" speech. Bill who?

EPISODE 3
Okay, after the extreme creepitude of this episode, I have a feeling I may not like this season as much as last. Not that I'm going to stop watching--just...
Franklin with an extra head Lorena doing a great impression of Linda Blair Talbot on general principlles Way too intense Bill et al
Is a bit much.
OTOH,
Eric, Yummy. Alcide, more yummy.
Much Yumitudinousness.
Bed now.

And while I am not invested in the pairing of Bill & Sookie, if any people watching the show are, they probably aren't any more after that scene. This follows the books, more or less, but not at that level of intensity. So Franklin took the dead guy? Why??

I'm thinking he took the dead guy to have a hold over Jessica so she'd tell him about how to find Tara. But it seems a bit overkill for just that, doesn't it? Like he maybe had additional motives? I loved the bit with Lafayette when Eric gave him the car.

Those four characters are my least favorite. They can, however, have a lot MORE scenes with Sookie and Eric! There have been some SIZZLING moments between them. I really need to write an essay about the vamps of True Blood and how they mirror the humans. Time permitting, maybe this weekend.

Observations:
So the Sookie/Eric scene is all in ERIC'S imagination. Love the sight of him floating outside her window.
So which is worse, the Queen or the King? Right now it's a toss up, but I think my vote goes to the King.
Somebody PLEASE stake the Magister!
The whole werewolf situation struck me as predictable but still creepy/scary.
I think Sam is going to end up bonding with his brother, but his parents...Jeez what a pair of wasters.
Tara is in SERIOUS deep shit. Franklin is beginning to remind me of my Ex. Minus the fangs and the sex appeal, of course.

Watched it last night. I mentioned on Twitter that Franklin reminds me of Season 3 Spike, where one minute he's threatening Willow with a broken bottle, and the next he's crying on her shoulder. Franklin is crazy scary, but in an entertaining way. I am kind of tired of seeing Tara put through all this shite though. She finally works her way out of the ropes, and Cooter the wolf nabs her. Ugh. I was talking to my sister about the episode, and she has decided that the actor who plays Alcide is not a very good actor. We both agree he's very pretty to look at, though. I don't have that much of a problem with his acting. What do others think? This episode seemed a little meandering. Not much happened. Jason wants to be a cop, but we all know that won't work. And Crystal, the girl he's chasing? How can I put this? I don't get what he sees in her. Is that bad casting, or is it my eyes, or what?

And Crystal, the girl he's chasing? How can I put this? I don't get what he sees in her. Is that bad casting, or is it my eyes, or what? No, the whole Franklin scenario is NOT going to end well. However, I do enjoy that Tara is beginning to see how she can manipulate him. "No! No! No! Anytime a girl says that to me I wake up and there's nothing but body parts..." "Franklin, I'm really into you..." At least she has apparently abandoned the idea of suicide. If she plays it right she can have him jumping through hoops to please her. But yes, very Season 3 Spike. Even Tara's reaction echoes Willow's--and Willow never went to bed with Spike. I don't think Alcide is badly played, I just think he hasn't been given much to do yet, other than glower, sulk and howl. I don't see how the episodes can do anything but meander, given the size of the cast. However, some things I did like: - Russel's honey getting his first look at Eric.
- Eric in blue sweater (another Spike flashback?) Eric seeing the crown. Eric Flashback. Eric.
- Sookie's experiencing the purple flashing light again. Why do the villians like that so much? Mary Ann laughed when she experienced it and now Russell did too.
- Sookie flinging Debbie Pelt's infidelities to Alcide right in her face!
- Bill's goodself re-emerging.

What? No comments about Tara's bashing Franklin's head in? No snickering about Eric putting his hand over Sookie's mouth?
This episode was full of enough bad stuff for six shows.

And how about Bill being tossed up into the ceiling, eh? Or the crash and burn Lafayette date (well, after the awesome hotness, first)? Or the final bite!

Or our first glimpse of Alcide in wolf form. And what about Jason's new squeeze. I know what she is from the books, but it's gonna be cool when JASON finds out. I LOVE Jesus. (Fine thing for a nice Jewish girl to say.) He's going to be SO good for Lafayette, if he sticks around. Love the little looks they pass each other. It's sweet like Willow and Tara but in a guy way. I wonder what Lorena is going to say when she realizes that Sookie tastes like Barry the Bellboy did last season. She's the first vampire other than Bill to taste Sookie's blood. She's going to know it's different. Remember, last season Bill mentioned to Queen Sophie Anne that he only fed from Sookie anymore. She must be TRULY yummy vampire-wise. I wonder if Tara knows she didn't kill Franklin? I can see how this plays out, [WARNING: What follows is purely speculation, NOT a spoiler!] Franklin (upset):"You bashed my head in with a mace!"
Tara (soothing and sweet): "Yeah, honey, that's because I love you."
Franklin (more upset): "But you bashed my HEAD in with a MACE!" (starts to cry bloody tears)
Tara (sweet and seductive): "That's right. That's because I knew you would heal and come get me. I had to help Sookie, and I couldn't let you know in case Russell caught me, so I just bashed your head in. I did it to PROTECT you!"
Franklin (sniffles, somewhat mollified): "You did?"
Tara (reasonably): "What other reason could there be? I didn't hurt you. Not really. If I didn't love you I would have STAKED YOU! That PROVES how much I'm into you!"
Franklin (now complete mush): "Awww...Tara!" (goes all bashful) "You DO love me!" (Yells down the hall to imaginary rivals) "You see? She wants to be with ME!" It's positively Buffy-esque.
