HO, HO, HOLY Mackerel, Sara! I was making my list and checking it twice when I came across your Christmas wish list. It looks similar to your dear old Secret Santa's list. Your number one wish:
A quick and amicable solution to the writer's strike. As Santa, I'm all about spreading goodwill. It's one thing to spread it, but it's another thing to get people to agree to be agreeable.
What I can do is try and give you a few new tools to help you make your wish come true.
First of all, to fortify you for the task: And at this site, you can find much of the current writer's strike news, and a whole lot more fangirl goodies: Even if you can't find a wagon to hitch to, the information will keep you up to date so that you'll know when an agreement has been met.
And finally, a bit more incentive - the Gift of Lex. When you buy a box of environmentally friendly pencils for the Pencils2MediaMoguls campaign at Unitedhollywood.com, your name will be entered to win the Gift of Lex.
That's right. If your name is drawn from the list of Smallville supporters who donated pencils in their name, sexy Michael Rosenbaum will call you personally and thank you for your support. (The deadline is only 2 days away.)
Now, this if this sounds more like an assignment than a gift, think of the potential rewards.
Plus, there is the added bonus of giving to your fellow man and woman.
One more treat to help keep you motivated: Happy Holidays!!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa’s been checking his list, Fotada, and saw you asked for craft ideas for dummies. Now, Santa had a similar request from another nice lady named Martha Stewart and thought he’d give you both instructions on how to Make Stuff, like a beaded 3-D Chihuahua.
Mrs. Claus stopped me on my way to adding this to my sack of goodies, however, and told me that it was not a good idea – in fact, I think the word “insane” was mentioned at least once. Instead, she suggested I provide you with a copy of the patterns and steps from Better Homes and Gardens that she used to make this very nice clutch purse with an antique pin closure.
But then, on my way to the sled, I started re-reading your request, and noticed the rather straighforward “for dummies” wording. Realizing that you were looking for the level of help that Santa himself needs, I bring you instructions for a heart-shaped wreath made from things in your yard.
Visit: www.make-stuff.com/projects/heart_wreath.html Even Santa didn’t screw this one up, so I think you’re safe.
By the way, Rudolph heard about my plans and said I should pass these additional links along to you. I don’t exactly know why he thought you’d need them, but he was muttering something about not “driving the poor woman to drink”, so I figured they might be important. Wow. Really, what more could one want than chocolate and a guy? Not to mention an excellent way to help be proactive in the WGA strike. Talk about your post that has it all. Thanks, Santa!

Santa!! I love the web sites and especially the wreath craft! I am very appreciative of the fact that you didn't send me the instructions for the beaded 3-D Chihuahua. (Are these people for real??) Mrs. Claus is very wise. But--Rudolph is even wiser!! The sites will definitely come in handy for me this holiday.

Oh Santa-Sweetie. You know what is best for me even better than I know myself.
These look a lot like the beaches I may get to visit in June.
Honestly, I have to picture myself with hubby Jim---but in my mental picture he looks a lot like Hugh Jackman and I look a lot like Jacyln Smith (in, say, her 40's). Hey! Santa said it was my dream! And here are some cookies for Santa:

Dearest Karen,
I went to work on item #2 on your wishlist:
"A sweet, non-demanding guy who likes TV and nature."
Unfortunately, without Mrs. Claus to help me the best I came up with was this guy:
He LOOOOOOOOOOVES nature, but I'm less certain about the sweet and cuddly part. You can read about him here:
dsc.discovery.com/fansites/manvswild/bio/bio.html
Of course, the final line about a wife and kid really tears it so it's back to the drawing board on #2.
In the meantime, though, I was able to come up with a few gifts to satisfy your #3 wish: "Pretty pics of just about anything."/snipping for a rainy day/ and Oh, Santa. You made a Bear!! Thank you so much. I love my gifts. Bear is really inspiring and I'll have to check out his documentaries. And thank you for the lovely pictures. You are the best!

Dear Sweet Shan!I hope you are enjoying the Christmas season so far! I noticed that you asked for:Silly, obsessive-making games to play You must know my motto, which is: Ask and you shall receive! My favorite game:

I got obsessed myself with this one, and started to believe I would never finish it. But I did. In case the same thing happens to you, here is proof that it can be done:
Not that I am trying to insure an obsession or anything . . .

Before I say good bye for now, I will add a special treat:
I heard you work around construction types, so you probably see this kind of thing all the time, but I thought you might like a picture.
Yours for the holidays,Santa

For good measure, more pretty men. . .
Oh, Santa. You've really outdone yourself this time. I am in AWE. A Tim Gunn bobblehead? That talks? The wrapped up pretties? (mmm, Gunn, mmm, Cillian...) I'm sure you've had plenty of cookies, so perhaps something stronger? And if you still need a nibbly, how about:

SPRINGADINGADOO!!!
As you can imagine, the N.P. is a hotbed of activity these days. However, I've sat down and thought about one of your requests: gift ideas for your 81 year-old mother-in-law. After careful consideration and consulting my experts, here's what I've come up with so far:1. Something warm to wear. Mrs. Claus tells me that as she's approached her golden years her blood has gotten a bit thinner, so she's always looking for a sweater or wrap. An item made from Polartec or some other easily washable fabric would probably be ideal, as then she wouldn't need to worry about dealing with dry cleaners and the like. Mrs. Claus is especially fond of these pullovers, saying they're soft, lightweight, and often just the thing she needs to take the chill off.
2. Gift certificates. Santa's a big fan of these. After all, why give someone another knick-knack to dust when instead you can treat them to something you already know they're going to love. For example: --To get her hair done at her favorite salon --To buy some plants at the local nursery when the weather gets warmer --To visit a local bookstore and pick up some new reading material --To a store selling supplies for whatever hobbies she may have, such as knitting, needlework, etc.
In other words, think about the activities she already enjoys and then find a way to allow her to indulge herself a little more than she otherwise might.
3. A food basket. If she lives on her own, this might be a particularly nice treat: cooking for one can often seem more trouble than it's worth. I've found that both men and women also acquire more of a sweet tooth as time goes by, so sending her some of her favorite chocolates or candies would also go over well.
4. If it's feasible, you could create your own certificate that promises a night out to dinner courtesy of yourself, allowing her to pick the time and place. I've seen your Photoshop work, so I know you'll be able to come up with something creative.
5. A pre-paid calling card, with a note telling her you'd like to hear from her more often. If that is indeed the case, of course. I hope these suggestions are helpful, my dear. Or, if you don't use any of them, perhaps they'll spark some other idea for the perfect gift for her.
Oh, and since you were such a good girl to ask for help in giving to others, I think you deserve a present of your own:
Cheers!

Santa
Santa! I love these ideas! Thank you - I knew that going to the world's number one gift-giving expert would be the thing to do! I especially like the food basket idea. It is perfect for her if I come up with the right items. And I do know her well enough to do that. And the picture is a very nice plus, too. HUGS TO YOU, SANTA!!! Here's some hot chocolate for you, Santa baby!
