I believe Hardison is already my favorite character on television.

I believe Hardison is already my favorite character on television. I love all of them, even Sophie, but Hardison and Parker are so wonderfully different: Hardison in his absolute pragmatism, and Parker in her utter daftness. Julia, and Elliott= male slayer, yes?

Copying from the main thread.
Watched the pilot of Leverage.
Very entertaining, if not gripping. A very solid pilot. Timothy Hutton kept making me think of Kevin Klein. And the floppy hair really does not look good on Christian Kane.

i've really been enjoying watching christian kane and timothy hutton on the little screen again. (though i suspect i'm the only person who watched the tv version of nero wolfe, which hutton co-starred in...)

i've really been enjoying watching christian kane and timothy hutton on the little screen again. (though i suspect i'm the only person who watched the tv version of nero wolfe, which hutton co-starred in...) Not hardly; everyone at my house did, the kids most actively. My flist has more than one Archie Goodwin fan, too. Also, Beth Reisgraf, who plays Parker, is the mother of Pilot Inspektor Reisgraf-Lee, whose father is Jason Lee of My Name is Earl. Which is what I came here to say. Julia, about ready to go to sleep, shold probably go to bed first.

I believe Hardison is already my favorite character on television. I'm about to agree with you, halfway through the second episode. Julia, still not in bed.

Archie Goodwin fan here also, and the Aged Ps consider the Nero Wolfe series comfort TV to the point of owning the DVD sets. Having watched the first two episodes all in a rush last night - it's rather like The A-Team or It Takes a Thief, not just in the setup but also in the tone of the show - kind of retro. Not great compelling TV, yet, but interesting, with definite potential. Also, The Husband remarked that "Timothy Hutton has aged". Said I, surreptitiously trying to wipe the drool off my chin, "If he has, he's aged well".

From an OK paper's t.v. news blog:
Oklahoma-born actor Christian Kane does more than act on “Leverage.”On Tuesday’s (Dec. 16) episode premiering at 9 p.m. on TNT, viewers can hear Kane singing one of his original country songs. The song, titled “More Than I Deserve,” compliments the episode titled “The Two-Horse Job.”

i'm happy to hear other people watched nero wolfe. nobody in my offline life has seen any episodes at all, so i'd always suspected it had been cancelled due to abysmal ratings. ETA i forgot to add that i agree that timothy hutton looks older. i think that look suits the new character well, though, so i'm not sure whether he's playing up the fact that he's aged.

Leverage casting news! It's not a spoiler per se, but I'll put it under a spoiler tag in case someone's adamant about being completely surprised: Mark Sheppard, aka Badger in Firefly and Romo Lamkin on BSG will have a recurring role on Leverage—from what I understand he'll appear in at least 5 episodes.

I approve of Mark Sheppard, Christian Kane singing, and the flashback of the horse killing the clown.
