Oh, this is what got Laura into politics, isn't it? Which started her on the road to where she is now. Oooooh, fired up, shouty, noble, emotional Adam!! Tasty!! Oh, Doc Cottle, I love ya, ya big lug!! Gaius . . . are you gonna go for it? Nope. Oh, Roslin. Roslin, Roslin, Roslin. Heeee! I love how the raptor pilots are darkly cheerful and snarky. They've got a purpose again! A reason to fly again! "The more things change, the more they stay the same." Indeed! ;D Whoa. Shielded by sitting by a black hole with, as Lee puts it so well, only one way in and out. Cliffhanger!

Much drinking going on so far. aww...3 sisters Kara has short hair again. Oh.. Lee. Zach. The brother. He's a cutie. Gaius and his dad. Oh my. Seems to be all about family tonight.Oh shit. How awful for Roslyn. And how perfectly this matches the decision to go after Hera, eh?

wheehee! Domestic-y Kara and Roslin losing everything before she lost everything! What was the one-hour mission The Old Man was kvetching about? I want to know too! Either we'll get more flashbacks in the final 2 hour finale, or . . . was there anything in previous flashbacks from earlier eps that this could have been referring to? Well of course not. Because everyone should naturally be always thinking of him and what they can do to make his life better. I'm surprised you even question it! **nods** Eeepy creepy!

packing up the memorial wall. "Does everything have to be reduced to your personal feelings about Kara Thrace?" Duh! Have you MET Lee Adama? **snicker** ;D Lots of "awww" in this ep. Heeee! I kinda love that we have no clue. Means he could basically say anything. "Well, I was driving for the croozer and then the blorful got in my way. I was lucky to score 2 hurckles before the ref called a flambuck!" Seriously dude!

"new life requires a new way of thinking" He wants to be the Senator from Crazytown. And yay, President Adama! "Haven't passed Gaius Baltar's test" "I wouldn't trust me either" So his flashback was of a pigeon attack while he was smashed. Holy crap. Rescue mission! Doesn't he know it's the penultimate episode?!? How many people are going on this.... crewmen incarcerated. How many are going on this suicide mission? Sharon, save the crippling depression for after you all die on this fool's errand! Really! Why worry about Hera being sliced and diced when you have the opportunity to jump onto the knives too?

I think I am going to cry. The volunteer side is about a third or so of the total. OMG, seing Roslin make her way up the line to join Adama, the smile on his face, the way there is no question of him heading off without her?

Not sure what the purpose of the flashbacks was, especially at this point of the story. I mean, I get that flashbacks help flesh out characters, etc but 10 pages from the end of the book? Or maybe we are supposed to see that they are NOW, exactly as they they were THEN, and essentially, always. Was the point that people don't change, or that they do? Or something else? Maybe that they are the sum of their experiences, always building on the heart of what they are inside?

I quite enjoyed the flashbacks. For me, they kind of served as a refreshing breather from all the building doom and gloom. And it was nice and interesting to see what kind of people they were before the devastation. **nods** Seeing them all so very real and living their lives and full of happiness and sadness and everything in-between and just living. And then it will all change . . . Oh, excellent point!

i really enjoyed this episode.
i thought the flashback scenes were intentionally jarring - showing them as ordinary people leading ordinary lives, with no idea what was ahead.
did anyone else watch the cheesy special on monday night? i thought it was fascinating that the actor who plays baltar (sorry, i'm forgetting his name) said that even though it wasn't canon, the way baltar makes the most sense to *him* is with having a chip in his head. maybe he's been reading this board! ;D

I love seeing all the scenes of the news spreading. Nice way to hear each person's reaction or way of thinking about the idea, rather than just a speech by Adama. that was a really really well-done montage. no kidding!

She's not letting you go that easily. She needs you so she can blow up all twelve colonies. ah, the sweet nothings whispered when in love! it seems like it was more than a few weeks; didn't roslin say in her last flashback scene that it had already been two or three months since her family had died? it seemed like he just asumed she was doing it to make life better for him and to improve his social standing (by moving his dad into a ritzy place). after all, everyone is just there to serve baltar, right?

It's here!! SQUEE!!!! *bounce* *bounce* *bounce*
You know, that scene in the previouslies with Tigh and Adama on the couch looks an awful lot like that scene in Angel Season 5 with Spike and Angel sitting on Angel's couch.

39,516 Survivors. Ooh, no blipvert at the end of the credits. Part I Galaxies. Blue Marble. Water. Ah, a flashback. Caprica City before the fall. Adama and what's his name. Oh, they're talking about the decommisioning ceremony. Isn't it odd how Caprica City looks nothing like Vancouver? Baltar and Caprica. Who is Baltar talking to? Now with Roslin. After a baby shower. (echoes of the "we need to start having babies" line) Roslin had sisters. Interesting. I never thought about her having family that perished. Kara also being domestic. Kara and Lee meeting for the first time. There's the mandala. Oh, this is before Zach died. Did we see Zach in flashback before? Cause I don't remember it. Back with Baltar. Are these Baltar's parents? Oh, his dad and his dad's nurse. Hmm. What did Baltar say about his past before? Oh, right. Here's the bit about Baltar passing for Caprican and so forth. In all these flashbacks, we see the characters vulnerable, but in a different way than we see them post-apocalypse. Caprica looks like a deer caught in the headlights. It looks like the reality of her mission is a lot more complicated that she was lead to believe. Back with Roslin. The cops? Roslin's whole family was killed? Yikes. That does explain why Roslin never said anything and where her inner hardness came from. She'd already been through a personal apocalypse. Nice visual of Roslin in black walking through all the children dressed in right colors. Walking in the fountain. Hey! They only let you do that at Stanford! Flowing water again. Flash forward to Roslin's IV drip. Nice. Evacuation of Galactica continues.

Part II
Adama packing up his office.
I'm kind of surprised that the boxes are cubed shaped, actually.
Baltar's harem. Whatshename is a born politician.
HeadSix. Baltar as the narrator?
Flashback. Baltar and a random chickie. And there's Caprica. Is this the same scene from the mini-series or just a very similar one?
Different scene actually. She found his dad a new place? Wow.
Dude, with those heels, Caprica is actually taller than Baltar. Don't know if I ever noticed that before.
Present. Kara pondering math and music.
Packing up the CIC. The ink looks a little like blood.
Helo and Tyrol. Person or machine?
The 8 models are all the same because the Final Five made them all the same. Hmm.
Wow. This is freaky. Oh, right
Hera also writing music.
Cylons trying to make Hera comfortable and failing miserably. Heh.
I really want Hera to develop her own agency soon.
