**bounces excitedly** Love this Darla-is-preggers arc! Love it!
Historical! Wigs! Bad accents! Holtz! Woo hoo!!! "Go to hell, fouil demon!" Whack! Dust the minions! Flee with witty, but of course incredibly stupid as plans go, commentary - so much more fun to ruin Holtz's life than to kill him.
Enter Darla. On a bus. **snicker** I can't help but find that just too too perfectly amusing.
"Put something real in this hell-hole and it'll die like that." Oh, anvil! Metaphor much? ;D Also, with the "I'm a vampire, you can't hurt me". Oh, you are so wrong, Angel!
Yay! The Gunn and Wes show! (Love that aspect of late season 2 and early season 3). Heh! Gunn, the eye actually
is following you whereever you go.
Hacky sack Gunn. Heeeee! ;D
Cordy in her bright red top, the only spot of color in the room. Also?
Red. Coincidence? I don't think so!
Wes still all tentative and quiet and worried around Fred. But he's right to get her help with the math.
Also. Typical prophesy! All confusing and open to misunderstanding and not really helpful at all. So much so that one wonders if they'd actually be better off without the "warning" they bring.
Oh, Angel. You are such a smitten kitten! A creepy, fanged, evil man-pire kitten!
"We love you, Angel!" Heeee! I really want to see them all hug.
Aaaaaaaaand, cue, Darla.
Heeee! A chart in the files. You
know Gunn created on when Darla and Dru were last in town, just to try to make some kind of sense out of the icky-to-him "granddaughter remade the grandmother" thing.
God, I just love this whole scene. Angel in shock and all "vampires can't have kids" and Darla the in-your-face baby-momma and Cordy's scornful "are you gonna take responsibility, you lying man-pire scum". And that's not even including the rest of the gang, especially Wes' book fake-out. "Oh, here it is." ;D ;D
(Wes is so intriging in season 2-3. Bumbling and dorky at times, so clearly the capable leader at times. And so so so so insecure when it comes to emotions and reaching out to others.)
Yay, Lorne! Yay, poor poor soon to be trashed again Caritas!
Mmmmmmm. Angel. ;D
"Is Angel gonna sing?"
to everyone's reaction, including Cordy's speedy "she's carrying the baby!"
"This is way beyond my ken - and my Barbie and
all my action figures." **snicker**
Screw destiny! Yeah, Fred! "You're evitable!" (This core attitude is really why she and Charles were a good couple, I think. They share that practical "let's just fix this" vibe.)
Oh, Cordy, Cordy, Cordy. She does tend to get pulled in by, tricked by, someone who appears to be in classic "bonding as females" mode. Harmony, Darla. Don't let down your guard, Cordy!
Getting a vision of the vamp who's biting you, of what she's gonna do after biting you,
while she's biting you? Waaaaay up there on the creepy-meter, eh?
Darla was never a normal vampire and she's even less normal now. Being not normal is kinda the norm for their wacky little vamp family though, when you think about it.
Always hungry, can't stop that no matter what or how often she feeds. And, of course, the drive to dine on kiddies.
To appear, to rise up, to be born, to not be born, it's good, it's bad, it will end the world, it will save the world. I tell ya, prophesies! Damn!
That first attempted staking is one of the few times we've seen Angel straightforwardly move to kill her. No pulling punches there. If she hadn't blocked him, she'd have been dust. But then, when she begs him to do it, he pauses. And I think he was pausing before he heard the baby's heartbeat.
**snerk** I just love Darla's snark, always. "Gosh. I'm the luckiest vampire girl in the whole world."
Gunn. If you're watching Darla, why aren't you, like, facing her? You look like you're guarding her
from someone, not the other way 'round.
I've also wondered how they can be so sure of the soul. I mean, heartbeat, yes, but are they really sensing / feeling the soul, or are they assuming?
And heeeeere comes Holtz! The Tro-clan! Or, like, the Tro-clan instigator. Or, whatever.
Heee! Love when Sahjahn turns around with his cigarette and is all looking at his watch.
Also? Does the statue thingy that Holtz comes out of (was frozen/held in) remind anyone else of Acathla?
