The theater loved the script. Maybe writing a script in 2 days under stressful conditions should always be my MO. I guess you just never know. I liked it, thought it had two really funny scenes but was worried they wouldn't like it. Happy now. Whew! Till the next one. While I don't believe that stressful working conditions are condusive to true creativity, it's nice to know that you CAN do it if you HAVE to. It's also nice to know that the buyer(s) will like it.

Bravo to the CD finding. Clearly, you taught her well. While you are being three, I--alas--must return to the groan-up world for a bit. This case I'm working on is a BEAR!

Qiet today, we are.
Don't mind me; I'm in the middle of washing the clothes posts to get the smell of dog pee out, and the north shrubbery to rid the leaves of aphid stickum; Sisyphus has nothing on me!
Julia, using specialized cleaning stuff, too

OK!
Finally got home last night around 9 PM.
I was supposed to have a one hr layover in Dallas, but ended up spending extra time there - three hours, tot.
This would not have been so bad, had those extra TWO HOURS not been spent PACKED LIKE A SARDINE INSIDE A HOT PLANE.
It was 100 deg in Dallas yesterday afternoon, and the pilot could not start the engines because we were at the gate . . . it got a bit stuffy and warm inside our little tin.
The plane was having problems with its "potable water system."
After 2 hrs of sitting, they decided to drain the system and clear us for take off without any water (some bottled water was available).
We finally got into Columbus, and then made the drive home.

Oh - interesting item about the Dallas airport:
Inside the airport, there is a little bar called "Cowtown." It was small, but decorated with three large longhorn skulls, and many, many depictions of cowboys and cowgirls and cows.
We got there at lunchtime, and "Cowtown" was right near our gate, and I felt like a burger, so we went in.
They had ZERO beef on their menu - not a burger, not a roast beef sandwich, not a steak, nada. I asked the waiter if they had a burger (thinking I was missing something), but no - he said they had no beef at all.
Anyhow, I had a chicken wrap. It was very good.
I guess the cow motif is all about their reverence for cows?

Julia, somehow it doesn't quite seem to fit in the David Sedaris oevre.

I had a day like a week...
Seriously, what did we do before the Internet? I managed to solve a large portion of my problems with the judicious application of google-fu.
What it couldn't solve? My idiocy in forgetting my flash drive at home when a large portion of what I needed to do was print out stuff from said flash drive. Then I found out that the ferry to Amsterdam, on Sundays, leaves at 9 am, and the train to the ferry? Leaves at 9:15. Helpful, that.
So, I photocopied what I needed to, returned some library books, went home, read, revised, went to the coffee shop, and then came home and booked a hotel in Harwich (where the ferry leaves from) for the night before.
Now, all I need is to buy my train tickets and print my stuff.
I also had a minor meltdown when I found out I got no teaching for next semester, and had a good rant on the phone with a friend as well as (shocking!) e-mailing my supervisor to ask why. Amazingly, found out it wasn't personal; they were unsure if I'd be here or what my visa status would be once I turned in my thesis. Weird what you find out when you just, you know, ask.
Hope everyone is OK.
