Oh, dear.
Anna was wondering when the 2010 Olympics wll be held- in Vancouver, BC, just north of us.
It's February 12-28.
There's an El Nino forming.
The last El Nino brought sun and February temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s.
This should be fun. ?
Julia, of course, there was skiing at Grouse Mountain into May, this year.

Because we could really use the rain. Maybe in a little less quantity, but rain good.

You get the rain that belongs on the west central coast of Mexico, we get your winter heat and relative dry. February is always warmer than January or March, I can't imagine what people were thinking. Julia, probably about Sweeps or something

There was a rather sad article in the LA Times this week, about the decreasing number of chill hours, and how it's adversely affecting fruit growers. We've seen it in our own trees this year - they bloom like mad, but don't get enough hours of cold to set the fruit. Of course, with all the drought now, if there's lots of rain, there will be mudslides everywhere. What we need is a weather moderator - if someone invented one, they'd make a fortune. At least this time I'll have one less worry - Bestest Buddy can't be trapped in Topanga by mudslides and giant rocks. Thousand Orcs is a lot less hilly and a whole lot more paved, at least where she's living.

Just when I thought the Salt Stealer couldn't possibly annoy me more, he's brought a friend over. This friend apparently needs to use our oven...and has made dinner, a pie, and a cake. Since the stove is tiny, that means that it is now after 10 pm, and I STILL CAN'T MAKE DINNER!
HATE.

Yup. 11:20 pm and the oven is still not free.
I am seriously so full of rage and hunger right now that I want to beat down both of them.

Julia, mine would come back from the dead and smite me flat for that.

My revenge has been to procure the remote and refuse to put on anything they want to watch.

Another super day... When Emily got home, she said she'd gotten an email from the finance department - tuition fees have been raised, and we owe another $336 for the fall semester. This is, of course, the Cal State college system, where they no longer take VISA, which happens to be the only credit card we possess. I called our credit union, got the routing number and a bit more information, and we paid by e-check directly from Emily's college fund account. Now, what I'd really like to do next is (concealed for political and vengeance content) Aged Parents update: My dad has consumed today chicken soup and part of a bagel. So far, so good. Tomorrow, I'm getting a grocery list from them. Saturday, Paul and I will leave as early as possible (because it's going to be beastly hot) and do their marketing on the way to Altadena.

Finally, I've had dinner. Still feel a bit lightheaded... I'm still outraged on your behalf. As soon as you get your sassy back, go eat their dessert, or at least give them a few choice words.
