You know, it would seem that I would have learned by now that spending a half-hour whacking out over-grown climbing rose from underneath, a process that involves a substantial amount of shaking debris out of hair my cleavage after, mandates a shower before bed to avoid massive allergic horrors the morning after.
Oops.
Julia, to quote Red: dumbass.

The new desktop pictures that will be available with the new Mac Snow Leopard OS are free to download here. Some of them are drop-dead gorgeous. Nice avatar.

Because totally no go for my scrren -- completely pixilated. Which also brings me to the question: Given that every computer screen I've EVER seen is wider than it is tall, why would you create a whole bunch of vertically oriented background pictures? Makes no sense, does it?

Doing fairly well here at work, though I'm definitely molasses slow, still. Got home from Miami last night - no real problems on the drive home, unless you count being stranded on the Interstate in the middle of nowhere (20 miles south of Walterboro, SC), with a flat tire . . . and discovering that your spare tire is worthless. We ended up waiting a little over an hour for a tow into Walterboro - a pleasant enough little town, though I only really saw the Walmart and a nearby restaurant. We spent the first night in Savannah. I had never been there, and I really loved it! What a beautiful city. I would love to go back when I had time. We got a hotel on Tybee Island, right on the ocean - so beautiful, and it was just so wonderful to see the Atlantic, listen to the waves, watch the sun rise, etc. ![](http://www.soulfulspike.com/staff/smileys/love/wavey.gif) All I know about Savannah I learned from reading "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" Hi, Spring.

Make the full size image your desktop wallpaper.

Am watching Serenity. Why didn't they just email Mr Universe the files? Sure, it wouldn't have worked with the soldiers there, but then they would find out it didn't work, and go do the rest of the story.
Is very good story. Is very frustrating I can watch all of it in two days.

Serenity is a very good film. River makes for very good fight scenes. As does Mal.

Too many balls in the air around here at the moment.

Well, started on de-vegetating the south wall; once again my hair and clothing is infested with small bits of vegetation and random crawling insects.
I bought a new Mutabilis rose to replace the one that's smashed into the wall, but cutting down a huge old rose seems very wrong to me anyway.
Julia, it's literally pushed a grove into the siding, though. So it's not an option to leave it anywhere near where it is.

![](http://www.soulfulspike.com/staff/smileys/love/wavey.gif) Firefly is good. Like, really good. Really well written. It's also very American, in ways I notice more because I been watching mostly British lately. Yet still cannot pin down in clear words. There's obvious bits though, like the myth is American and the accents and style. The use of Chinese kind of doesn't work, specially with the absence of people. I think part of that though is the subtitles just say [chinese] all the time, and then it's right up there with [inaudible] rather than an actual form of communication. Subtitles translate stuff into other languages routinely, why isn't there a version of the subtitles makes it all English or all Chinese? There's niggly stuff that I keep wanting to poke. But then I notice Joss' use of language and individual character voice and how he's built a class system and all and I'm just impressed again. I soooooooooo wish we'd been able to watch him build that world and fill in all the corners and wander down all the paths he wanted to . . . Hell, the Blue Sun storyline alone would have been fascinating.
