Huh, I'd never heard about Gunter's Landing. Guntersville Lake is really pretty, though. And yeah, you know Alabama has the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, too. Pretty famous golf trail, from north AL all the way down to the coast. There's golf all over the freaking place around here. I've heard of the Golf Trail. I'd love to do that someday. Alabama would be a good place to retire. Besides being closer to you, closer to the ocean is also a plus.

So, I have a bigg-ish milestone today: I am 36 weeks pregnant. My doctor and two books have pronounced me "full term"...What To Expect says I have to wait another week. Either way, though, the word is this baby could come at any point and be a completely normal, non-neonatal ICU baby. Dude. There's an actual BABY in there. That's freaky. At any rate, I find out tomorrow morning whether there's any movement on the "could come any day" front. I rather suspect there isn't, but you can't really do an internal exam yourself to find out. BABY!!

Am at work. Have head cold. Am alone in my half of office. Staying awake challenging. Have you read this yet? Joss Whedon is a prick. (warning - possible spoilers for Dollhouse, if you haven't seen Ep 13) Other than buying the set of Season One DVDs is there any other way for me to see Ep. 13? Has anyone got a DVD that they would consider lending to me? I'll pay shipping (and careful packing) each way.

Is it crazy to be planning a RoadTrip 'round the North East around T-Day and Christmas Breaks? You mean due to weather considerations? Not necessarily. It's not "all snow all the time" in Nov or even Dec. BUT, be prepared to be flexible and keep an eye on both long and short range weather reports.

Doing fairly well here at work, though I'm definitely molasses slow, still. Got home from Miami last night - no real problems on the drive home, unless you count being stranded on the Interstate in the middle of nowhere (20 miles south of Walterboro, SC), with a flat tire . . . and discovering that your spare tire is worthless. We ended up waiting a little over an hour for a tow into Walterboro - a pleasant enough little town, though I only really saw the Walmart and a nearby restaurant. We spent the first night in Savannah. I had never been there, and I really loved it! What a beautiful city. I would love to go back when I had time. We got a hotel on Tybee Island, right on the ocean - so beautiful, and it was just so wonderful to see the Atlantic, listen to the waves, watch the sun rise, etc. All I know about Savannah I learned from reading "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" Hi, Spring. Savannah is beautiful and interesting. We should do an S-fest there . . .

Yup, everything's intensively real now and just gets moreso for a while. Julia, note: you take care of the baby, anyone who's come to help takes care of you. Would you be willing to tell that to my MIL? Somebody needs to embroider iton a VERY LARGE PILLOW. Julia, it is the rule of doulas and old-fashioned home nurses everywhere, butgrandmas and aunties sometimes are unwilling to admit the wisdom of the pros.

Glad you are having the chance to relax and recharge Spring.

Where's your avatar quote from, Spring? It's from the Nine Inch Nails song, Hurt (famously recorded, with well-known video, by Johnny Cash).

Where's your avatar quote from, Spring? I'm not Spring, but I can answer that for you: It's from the song "Hurt," by Nine Inch Nails. Johnny Cash also did a very haunting cover of it. Ding-ding-ding-ding-ding! Correct response! Plus, this response confirms my long-held suspicion that you wish you were me.

Word, that.I watered the lawn, I'm washing a load of sheets. What to do next, what to do? The list is long, and I'm tired. And I've decided. I'm going to run errands. The vet, the hardware store, Michael's, maybe Big Lots. Aren't you impressed?
