general impression 3.18 Fractures
*probably the most painful episode of Farscape, and that's saying something. Everyone is broken. Love that Aeryn can't even look at Crichton and that Crichton ends up jealous of himself and there's nothing that anyone can say to make the situation better; it's just so painfully perfect.
*The prisoners on the transport are very intriguing. Especially introducing the first scarran on the show we can sympathize with.
*love Crais's and Jool's scenes together working on the boolite, especially when they get bits of boolite on them in the firefight. ;D
* Crichton ends the episode with a new purpose, ascending to the next level of the game, so to speak

general impressions 3.19 I Yensch, You Yensch

*This restaurant at the end of the universe is kind of entertaining.
*Talyn's psychosis. ;(
*Aeryn and Crichton reach a detente.

general impressions 3.20 Into the Lion's Den: Lambs to the slaughter
*Love the WWII black and white fantasy Harvey sequences. And appropriate for the wormhole weapon as nuclear bomb arms race metaphor.
*This trip to the Command Carrier has a very Dorothy in Emerald City feel.
*Lov Aeryn's memories of her peacekeeper life (and that it wasn't awful) and interactions with her former comrades, a reminder of how far she's come.
*Love the battle training holodeck that the command carrier has.
*Grayza. *shudder*
*This reactor room fight scene reminds me of that stomping room on the ship in Galaxy Quest.
*At long last, we learn where Earth is in relation to the Uncharted Territories/Peacekeeper Space

general impressions 3.21 Into the Lion's Den: wolf in sheep's clothing *This episode blows me away. *Love the Russian opera soundtrack. Fits in well with the soviet industrial inspired decor of the peacekeepers. *There is a whole lot of hoyay between scorpius and crichton in this episode. *Crichton begins to turn into a monster before our very eyes. "no one should have that kind of power." *Talyn and Crais's death scene breaks my heart. This scene is the case in point on how well the show makes you care for the leviathans even without a voice actor to personify them. Lani Tupu does a phenomenal job in that scene. *Scorpius standing on the steps with water running down them is one of my all time favorite images in the series.

general impressions 3.22 Dog with Two Bones
*I love how Noranti just appears with no explanation. And then the other characters don't know where she came from either. Ha!!!
*great use of Crichton's fantasy dream world to get inside his psyche.
*"English is a very difficult language. Half the time people don't understand what I'm talking about." #rofl1#
*Aeryn using Jool's scream to melt the metal she's working on. Ha!
*the coin toss scene. so well done. My favorite part is when he holds up his hands to his face and you can see that one still has the wormhole equations on it.
*Nice reveal of Aeryn's pregnancy. dun Dun DUN!!!

general impression 4.1 Cricton kicks. *We get a hint of what might of happened to crichton had he not found the moyans immediately upon reaching the uncharted territories. Quintessential mad scientist. *I think The Beard is scary, even if it is actually Ben Browder's. I'm also not understanding why Crichton is wearing the smock. *Excellent use of 1812 overture. *I love Sikozu. I get the feeling that she may not have been popular with much of the audience. *I'm not really understanding how her situation with the Grudeks fits in with her true mission, given all we learn later. *"I'm not obsessed. -[Aeryn] say anything to you before she left?" ... "And I'm not obsessed." "Wormholes, Aeryn, Earth, Aeryn, Scorpius, Aeryn..." "Aeryn. She say anything to you before she left? "When a woman, when she's your wife or lover... or a slave you've purchased to be your wife or lover, leaves you repeatedly, take the hint." *"No dream is guaranteed, Commander. The grace of age is that we learn to accept."

general impressions 4.2 What was lost: sacrifice *I've watched these two episodes so many times, and I still don't entirely understand what is going on. Particularly with Noranti. Thankfully the mini-series got made or this episode would seem even more random. Maybe a full season 5 would have properly developed the context *"never bathe, never bathe, it washes off the juice." "That's...more than I wanted to know." Hee! *The eye of Ra! I keep expecting them to stumble across a stargate. ;D *The alienized sacrificial goat cracks me up. *"This is for all the times I had to say yes!" Slashy!!! *Grayza rapes Crichton. The kicker is, ...um, Crichton's right, it's not as bad as what Scorpius did to him. I do think that the rape is the straw the breaks the camels back, and is the direct cause of crichton's difficulty with his relationship with Aeryn, as well as his decision to start self medicating later in the season. * Also, I want to do serious violence to Noranti when she finds Crichton after the rape. The way she keeps nattering on about whatever, when he's clearly traumatized, almost catatonic. And then she blows more magic dust in his face!!! GOD!!! This is the point in the series where I start to think that if people would stop messing with his mind and body, maybe he wouldn't be quite so messed up. *And yeah, I still have no idea what Noranti is going on about.

general impressions 4.3 What was lost resurrection
*So...what Grayza did to Crichton the first time was clearly rape. With him willingly going back to her as part of this escape plan, in order to let her do the same thing...is that still rape? Or not??? I'm deeply confused. And disturbed.
*I love Crichton's description of the wormholes. Always there but only occasionally appear in our reality.
*Love the little girl power moment in the cell, particularly when Chiana and Jool do the little hand gesture thing.
*Does my ass look big in these pants? #rofl1# #rofl1# #rofl1#
*Nice job with the subtle slow color desaturation. I didn't even notice it until all the color came back.
*I really like the relationship between Jool and D'Argo. It's not an epic love story, but touching, nonetheless.

general impressions 4.4 Lava's a Many Splendored Thing
*Otherwise known as a comedic interlude episode. A very entertaining one.
*And possibly the only episode to not feature any leviathan at all?
*Fantastic buddy buddy chemistry between Crichton and D'argo in this episode.
*Love (in a gross out way) Chiana and Sikozu trying to figure out which vomit is D'Argo's. Especially Chiana tasting the vomit. Eww!
*Love Noranti's seduction dance.
*The shield is such a great idea. I'm glad they were able to take one with them.

general impressions 4.5 Promises
*Whoa. Loaded meaning to episode title. Lots of callbacks to previous episodes.
*Lots of meaty bits in this episode, but as a whole it really meanders and drags.
*Scorpius is now a Moyan. Diabolical.
*I love Sikozu providing the outsiders perspective. She's missed the past 3 years and is reacting much the way would about attitudes towards Scorpius, group dynamics, etc that we would.
*Fascinating look into Crichton's psyche with his hallucinations of HarveyAeryn.
*Love the ship hologram concept and the control orb
*Aw, Harvey goes away. I always forget that he's gone for most of season 4.

general impressions 4.6 Natural Election
*I love that once again, the Moyans are fighting a biological threat.
*Aww..D'Argo is elected captain.
*So...about Aeryn not knowing who the baby daddy is. My theory is that Aeryn knew all along it was TaylnCrichton's baby. Her story was just a cover to cover her own emotions and hesitancy about telling Crichton.
*I absolutely love that sebaceans can sequester their embryos.
*Crichton and Aeryn have switched positions, Aeryn being the one reaching out emotionally and Crichton pulling back. Crichton's now become more peacekeeper than most peacekeepers.

general impressions 4.7 John Quixote
*On the commentary, Ben Browder swears that he wasn't on anything when he wrote this episode. I, however, remain skeptical.
*Lots of deep thinky thoughts in between all the crackfest. Also excellent look inside Crichton's psyche
*Claudia Black's princess accent cracks me up.
*memorable quotes "You care for a game? You know how to play?"
"This is not right...somebody is messing with us." "Well, I'm sure there's some really good technobabble..."
"Maybe 'kiss' a metaphor for showing her a really good time."
"I'm not a warrior." "You carry a weapon."
*Crichton's drug abuse. My theory is that Grayza raping him is the straw that broke the camel's back. And his feelings about that are mixed up with his feelings for Aeryn, hence his reaction is to emotionally shut down, both in general and wrt Aeryn specially.

general impressions 4.8 I Shrink Therefore I Am
*"So we've gone from Die Hard to Honey, I Shrunk The Hostages." I feel kind of meh about this episode, but I suppose if you like Die Hard and/or shrinking stories you might like it better.
*I love Sikozu and Rygel's discussion of the scientific impossibility of the sci fi shrinking trope.
*Tormented Space. Is that like going to plaid?

general impressions 4.9 A Prefect Murder
*Beautiful mood piece, this episode. The editing once again playing with narrative structure.
*Love the way Sikozu and the Prefect's son love scenes are shot.
*"I don't think I have the strength to miss next time." "I think I'm just a really bad shot." Crichton and Aeryn's confrontation illustrating the pain and beauty of their relationship at this point in the series. And Crichton reaching out to Aeryn at the end, love reaching through the drug induced haze.

general impressions 4.10 Coup By Clam. *Otherwise known as the one before the once that's really really good. Also some good fun and silliness before the angst sets in again. *Love the the mockery of Girl Power, in a sort of post-post modern way? "Jirl Power!" #rofl1# #rofl1# #rofl1# *Ben Browder makes a really convincing woman.
