I have now exercise for more than 50 minutes for the 4th straight day. This is an accomplishment. Go me.

I did. I have. It never works, unless Emily steps in, and she's got school plus her TA prep work, so not really an option. It just means I have even more to do later. Also Paul's got another nasty coughy cold coming on, and it's been wicked hot and sticky, so neither of us is getting enough sleep. Still no computer, I'm supposed to call after we get home from the library (Yorba Linda this time) and see if it's ready yet. FYI, if anybody heard about a brushfire in Brea, it's several miles north and east of us above Carbon Canyon and last I heard was moving farther north into LA County. So we've got a smoky smell and a bit of ash, but we're otherwise safe. Glad for the safe, but still concerned. Kid, they can't lean on you unless you allow it and I don't think you're doing them any favors by that allowing. These people are all adults or nearly so. They have to stand on their own. It was one thing when the girls were still children, but they're not anymore and you (sorry to say it, but suffering from the same malady myself) are not as young as you used to be. You're going to tire sooner more intensely as you get older. It's time to back off a little and delegate. If you do it in bits they may not notice, but if it takes a full fledged tantrum to get their attention, then I say go for it. Anne, let me pose you a question and then I'll drop it. If all is as you say (and I'm not doubting it for a minute. I've got a family too, remember) and things won't get done unless you do them--who will take over if you drop from exhaustion or stress or some other nasty cause or causes? What will happen if they DON'T get done? Oh, and it's time to retire that old, useless guilt too. Easier said than done, I'm afraid. I've always been the one who holds everything together, and when I can't, things do fall apart. But at least Emily is good at computer stuff and enjoys it; she wants to learn how to run the various maintenances, and I'm going to show her, as soon as we both have some free time. She can't do any worse, that's for sure. Emily also enjoyed, to some extent, being in charge of the house while I was stuck at the Aged Ps' that horrible summer. Although I gather she and Paul fought over who got to fix dinner. Come to think, I've been running on high alert for over two years now, and every time I start to think I can relax, there's another crisis. No wonder I'm exhausted. But today is the day Kitty gets her wisdom teeth out, so I've got stuff to do this morning, and this afternoon I'll be spending in the dentist's office, waiting and worrying. I have several books, a sketchbook in case I want to work on a design for a little project, and a bottle of water.

I managed to get some sleep last night, although the feeling of my left ankle trying to take itself apart for an hour or so around midnight was not precisely restful.
Julia, should have an ankle brace to work in so it doesn't get all torqued.

Younger Daughter is now wisdom-teethless and applying cold packs to alternate sides. It apparently wasn't too bad except for the one upper wisdom that impinged on the sinus cavity, so she can't blow her nose for the next two weeks.
I am exhausted, and have dragooned the Husband into going to get her prescriptions filled. Besides, daughter needs her mom right now.
Of course, we can't expect Kitty to do any chores for the next few days at least, so guess who gets to clean the catbox? Emily offered to take evenings if I do mornings; I took her up on it.

Up early, breakfast, kicking the soccer ball, blowing up the inflatable pool, going to Walmart to buy swim trunks and flip-flops, lunch, filling up the pool, playing and playing and playing in the pool, cleaning up and drying up, going to park, playing in the park, going to Burger King, playing in the kids play room, going to Kroger's to get cake mix, baking a cake . .
And soon, bathtime and bedtime.
YOWZA!
They are cutie pies.

Was going leave Charleston and head north today, but the latch thingy appears to be broken on my car trunk. So I have to stay put until I can go to the dealer tomorrow.

Family reunion, and I feel as if someone has worked me over with a lead pipe. Oh, joy.
Julia, also, ouch
