Oh! My! Gosh!
Nominated for a Mr. Pointy Award! I knew you when! Not only that, you were the first S'cubie I met in person! I really wouldn't be where I am without you guys.

Erin, congratulations, you are awesome! Thank you, Anne! Wonderful news, Erin.
I dropped in after seeing a post from Dev, on FB, that he is turning 30 soon!
30! How can that be? He was 16 when he started posting with us!
Little Dev, turning 30. It sure gave me that "time flies" feeling.

It makes me feel REALLY old. And thank you! It really was a honor to be nominated.

Just popping in to say hi. Have a few days to myself for the first time in . . . years! It's nice but I have a tendency to stay up to late and wear myself out when I have too much unscheduled time.
I did bills, did some online tech writing work I've been doing as a free-lancer, did some laundry, and re-watched Ohio State winning the National Championship. Tomorrow - banking, more laundry, and thorough house cleaning for overnight guests I'm expecting this weekend! Exciting times.

We head to Chicago this week for our 40th and to see all the kids.

We head to Chicago this week for our 40th and to see all the kids. Exciting about the baby girl . . . when is she due?
I am by myself because: The eldest girl, who is 18, ran off with her very, very objectionable boyfriend not too long ago. She is angry because I haven't let him in the house or around her sisters (with very good reason) and she is doing the crazy teen thing. She moved about 70 miles away with him. I just have to hope that she will regain some common sense once the "honeymoon" is over. It's more complicated than that - she has a lot of problems from the issues that brought her to foster care, but that's it in a nutshell.
The middle girl, Roxy, is off to church camp in Indiana for the week (just got back last night).
The youngest girl is currently in a new placement with her younger brother. They are "trying it out," for possible adoption together. She kept saying she wanted to be with her little bro, so Children Services moved her. It's not working out that well -- not at all shocking since they tried this twice before and it ended badly. Don't get me started on the craziness of this. But I already said my peace to Children Services and I'm now keeping my nose out of it.

First, Sue, congrats!! New humans of awesomeness are always appreciated. Sadly, I did not win the Mister Pointy this year. However, there's another chance, I suppose, as this came out today: www.whedonstudies.tv/current-issue1.htmlI also am now officially the Features and TV editor for Pop Matters. Which pays and everything! See? www.popmatters.com/contributors/
