Tentative Air Date: March 29, 2005
Guest Stars: Max Greenfield (Leo), Corinne Bohrer (Lianne Mars), Alona Tal (Meg Manning), Zachery Bryan (Caz), Kyle Secor (Jake Kane), Lisa Thornhill (Celeste Kane)
Spoilers Added 3/14:
- Jason Dohring does not appear in this episode.
- This episode features Weevil and Wallace in bigger roles than usual, FINALLY!
- Duncan's parents return, in flashbacks and in a new sequence.
Spoilers Added 2/3:
- Neptune's rival school is called Pan High School. Pan High School's mascot "Billy", a goat is also stolen. In another prank, Neptune High School students send a gift to the Pan High students that has something to do with the goat and is quite disturbing. What? Watch the episode and see, of course!
- Wallce is not scheduled to play in the big basketball game, but Veronica's investigation into the mascot kidnappings reveals at the last second that another team member was involved, and Wallace gets to take his spot on the team.
- Veronica comes closer to finding her mother. She also learns, at least from her mother's side of the story, what exactly Lianne Mars was doing at the hotel with Jake Kane at the Neptune Grand in the series pilot.
- Veronica's undercover name at the rival high school is "Betty." Hence, "Betty and Veronica"... which we actually hope is the title they end up using.
- "Polly the Parrot" is the name of Neptune High's mascot, and Polly is stolen by Neptune's rival.
- Wallace joins the Neptune High basketball team, and what do you know... he's good!
- Tensions are high between Neptune and their main high school basketball rival. Some nasty hijinks going on. Veronica of course investigates to find out who's been doing this stuff.
- Meg is in this one too, and she might be involved with one of the show's regular guys now.
- Leo, the deputy introduced in "Silence of the Lamb," is back and is helping Veronica understand the ins and outs of sports gambling. (Thanks Ostrich at TWOP for that!)
- Weevil helps to shake down a potential suspect.
Episode #17: "Kanes & Abel's..."
Tentative Air Date: April 5, 2005
Guest Stars: Daran Norris (Cliff McCormack)
Spoilers Added 2/3:
- And some plot details: A girl in the running to be valedictorian employs Veronica to find out who's directly (and indirectly) behind the pranks that seem to be causing her sudden drop in grades.
- Veronica meets a college student named Amelia DeLongpre who may know something about the Lilly Kane case. Veronica is sent to Amelia by Cliff McCormack.
- Clarence Weidman is on Amelia's trail for some reason too, and seems disturbed when he hears that she's gone out with a tiny and cute young blonde.
- A woman meets up with Keith to see if she can catch her husband with a call girl.
- Veronica ends up at a raver party where there is some "rockin'" and "rollin'."
- Time to play the multiple title game again. This one MAY be called "Kanes & Abel's...;" we'd also heard "Neptune Salutorian's Dad" earlier.
Episode #18: "Neptune Undercover" or "Weapons of Class Destruction"
Tentative Air Date: April 12, 2005
Guest Stars: Jonathan Chesner (Corny), Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Joey Lauren Adams, Alona Tal (Meg), Tina Majorino (Mac)
- We're now hearing a different title for this episode - "Weapons of Class Destruction." A nifty pun, but we're not sure which title is the right one. (Anyone out there reading who'd know? E-mail us!) Those Veronica Mars people, always switching the titles on us...
- Near the end of the episode, Meg comes to Veronica and tells her that she doesn't know where Duncan has gone to. He's withdrawn $10,000 from his bank account on the previous day, and no one has seen him since.
- The Veronica/Logan kiss mentioned in the "Hot Dogs" spoilers sounds like it's happening in this episode.
- Jonathan Taylor Thomas is said to be playing a character where there are incriminating photos of him loading fertilizer into a car (for a bomb perhaps?). But, it could be that Thomas' character is actually working "undercover," hence the title.
- Joey Lauren Adams of Chasing Amy fame is said to be playing a journalism teacher who gets fired because of an article that is published in the school newspaper. I guess this means Mallory Dent is officially gone.
- The inscription on the locker is now KillEmAll.net. And, yep, Warner Bros. owns the domain.
- Veronica visits Corny by his locker. An officer of the law and a trained labrador are headed his way. He stuffs a bag of pot in his pants. Oddly, the dogs go right past Corny. Something else is going on.
- Veronica writes a story that ends up on the front page of the Neptune High newspaper. "Bomb Threats Force Evacuations." Duncan, Veronica, and a girl named Geena speculate if it's for real. Meanwhile, a girl frantically unloads her locker so she can get out of there before the school is blown up.
- There is a clue - KillEmAll.com is written on a locker. This might be changed as there actually is already such a domain name listed.
Episode #19: "Hot Dogs"
Tentative Air Date: April 19, 2005
Guest Stars: Alyson Hannigan (Trina Echolls), Amanda Seyfried (Lilly Kane), Harry Hamlin (Aaron Echolls), Max Greenfield (Deputy Leo)
- Aaron, Trina, and Logan meet with a lawyer named Barry about Lynn Echolls' will.
- This one has something to do with dogs being stolen - we were right!
- Duncan has disappeared, and Logan and Veronica aren't sure where he's gone to. Logan even gets a call from Celeste about the situation.
- Veronica and Logan are a little awkward, and the VMVO (Veronica Mars Voice Over) makes a reference to a "two minutes in heaven" the two of them had previously. Yes, shippers - it sounds like there's a Veronica & Logan kiss in our future! Take that, Deputy Marblemouth!
- There's a twist involving Weevil and Lilly Kane also. It sounds like the you-know-what is starting to hit the fan as we approach the end of the season.
- A friend of Trina's pitches a role to Aaron. In this scene we learn a little bit about what makes Aaron Echolls tick.
- Alyson Hannigan's character of Trina Echolls will be returning in this episode!
- Let us guess - this one's about a dog smuggling ring? The changing of Backups between the pilot and the series? No details on this one yet, just the title.
Episode #20: "Tit for Tad"
Tentative Air Date: April 26, 2005
Guest Stars: Tina Majorino (Mac), Daran Norris (Cliff McCormack)
- Loretta Cancun is in the sheriff's office drunk and hostile, and is claiming "entrapment" for whatever it is she has done. Cliff McCormack tells her she's not helping her case.
- A sophomore girl named Carmen Ruiz dumps Tad, who will be graduating this year. Tad's apparently going to be off to go to the Naval Academy and then enter the Navy, and she doesn't want a long distance relationship.
- Tad has video of himself and Carmen doing something that Carmen doesn't want people to see. (Too bad Paris Hilton's already guest starred, this role is right up her alley!) If Carmen breaks up with him, Tad has threatened to show the entire school. Carmen goes to Veronica for help.
- Veronica, in turn, gets some potentially embarrassing material of Tad that will turn the tables a bit. Veronica goes to Mac to get help with carrying out her plan.
- Apparently the prom's in this episode. We meet Dick Casablancas' little brother, Beaver. There's a character named Tad who wears a Naval Aviator jacket and is a bit homophobic. He picks on a young "Rupert Everett-esque" (so we're assuming, gay) student named Seth, but don't worry - Seth makes him look stupid with some of the best Hoyayilicious Veronica Mars-ian zingers since "So, you got a medal for a rim job."
- The Veronica Mars Powers That Be are apparently getting a lot better with the leaks, because that's all we've got!
Episode #21: "Up On The Roofie" or "A Trip To The Dentist"
Tentative Air Date: May 3, 2005
Guest Stars: Leighton Meester (Carrie Bishop), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas), Sam Huntington (Luke), Jonathan Bennett (Casey Gant), Amanda Noret (Madison Sinclair)
- A "who's who" of guest characters from past episodes return in this episode. Carrie Bishop, Dick Casablancas, Luke from the Tijuana trip, Casey Gant, Shelly Pomeroy, Madison Sinclair, they're all there. Thankfully, Paris Hilton stays far away.
- This episode will solve the "rape" mystery. Look for some unused takes from Veronica's Walk of Shame, unused in the pilot, to show up in this.
- We're now hearing the alternative title of "A Trip To The Dentist." Stay tuned.
- Considering the title, it sounds like Veronica will learn the truth about who raped her in this episode, hence, being "up" on the roofie.
Episode #22: "Leave It To Beaver"
Tentative Air Dates: May 10, 2005
- Rob Thomas confirms for us at the Paley Festival that the season finale is indeed called "Leave it to Beaver."
- Here you go. A title. We don't think the name of it reveals who roofied Veronica or who killed Lilly Kane, but you're still welcome to speculate. Beaver, of course, is the younger brother of Dick Casablancas that we first meet in episode #20.
- The resolution as to who killed Lilly Kane will likely be revealed in this episode. If we come across this information, no, it will not be posted at Neptunesite... got to leave some mystery, but beyond that, even the webmaster here doesn't want to know.
