Color very important in this episode. red, red, everywhere red. particularly against washed-out backgrounds (very dark or very light). Loved the shot of the red umbrella - and then seeing it in the comic book. Red bow in the little girl's hair. Mislead of red headphones on the other little girl.

You're right. I forgot that we saw him in profile. So now I'm thinking that he's Ali's husband like some one else suggested. So, here's a spoiler question: would providing a definitive answer to this question constitute a spoiler if it's based on material publically available to everyone? And by that I don't mean an online column or gossip reporter, but material released by NBC itself. Yeah, that's definitely a spoiler - it's about plot information that hasn't been aired yet, and isn't in next week's preview. Doesn't matter if it's accurate - it's the "advance information" aspect that's spoilery. Grr, argh, at NBC for spoiling their own shows, too.

Another thing: what of the little girl? Why did Sylar feel the need to get to her so badly? Was she always the primary target? and if he knew where to find her in the fbi building, why wouldn't he have known where to find her in the house? or did he get the information from an inside source?

I think he was moving both the gun and NotMarcie as objects, not that he had control over her body; if he did have complete control over her actions, then she wouldn't have been able to resist his attempt to make her pull the trigger. That she could resist tells me he was either trying to force her finger to move in the same way he would if he had his hand physically there or his control over her body was at best incomplete. Invisitext theory below>>> NOT a spoiler, but hidden for those who don't like theories. So, if Syler's power is that he absorbs the power of the heroes by eating their brains, and Peter's power might be that he absorbs the powers in a limited manner by being in contact with a hero, then could Syler be Peter and Nathan's father, who really didn't commit suicide and Nathan knows this and is trying to protect Peter?Hmm... Whoa, Karen! This is a great theory!

Dude. How many powers does Sylar have? Or is he just a really skilled telekinetic, and thus was able to stop the bullets before they hit him? Hmm - I think he's eating the brains of these other heroes and then getting their powers. Or he started as Patient zero with all the powers - or he has Peter's ability to absorb other's powers. One of the above but there has to be a reason for all the missing brains. He has to be doing something with them and Claire's brain factored into last night's episode, as in she couldn't use her powers with something in her brain. So is Claire going to die every week? OMG, you killed Claire! You bastard!!

Agree.

DESTINY
Hiro had a great quote. He's been seeking his destiny from the beginning.
Peter also started talking about his destiny. [In fact, Jim made me laugh out loud when Peter told the girl he was quitting because "this is not where I'm supposed to be," and Jim said: "You're supposed to be on Gilmore Girls!"
Also thinking a bit (but haven't fleshed it out) about partners/supporters:
Hiro/Ando Claire/Xanderish friend Ali Lartner/son Matt/FBI lady? or little girl? Mohinder/neighbor artist/heroin (ex-girlfriend?) Peter/black girl (not brother?)
Antagonists: Hiro/ ?? Claire/dad stripper/mob boss Matt/ shadow guy Peter/brother
Okay, 3 eps of introduction and set up, I'm ready for some of these people to meet up and start avoiding the apolcolypse. (I do love the much faster pace of info sharing than LOST and the "deadline" for some resolution for the antipated Nov. 8 annihilation of NYC.)

Whoa! So is Claire immortal? How far gone does she have to be before she can't come back? I've been wondering that myself. Right now, it looks like she'd have stayed dead until that piece of wood was removed from her neck--suggesting that if there's something impeding its progress her flesh won't heal itself. But how far gone can she be and still have her flesh regenerate? A few hours? A few days? And does she feel any pain at all when she's wounded? 'Cause so far the evidence indicates she doesn't--particularly given that her first reaction upon waking to find her chest laid open was not to scream in agony. There have to be some limits on her power otherwise you have the potential for such silliness as a bomb blowing Claire to bits and then having each bit regenerate into a new individual Claire.

I don't want to know anything about this show and I'm thinking of not even watching the previews in the future.
I like the wow aspect of not knowing what's coming. #metoo# ...and must remember to use mute button when evil NBC announcer guy speaks.

The poor cheerleader and her Xander loyal sidekick: She got autopsied. Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark. I loved the Buffyesque why-me rant, too. Errrmmm, no, it really won't. Psychologically, maybe.

Have only read some of the comments, mostly, so I'm just going to throw things out at random: The poor cheerleader and her Xander loyal sidekick: She got autopsied. Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark. I loved the Buffyesque why-me rant, too.Oh, me, too! "I just want to be normal." LOL! Speaking of the cheerleader. Is she doomed to be wearing the cheerleading outfit during the whole series?
