Part II Dude, she's gonna sneak out anyway. Have you learned nothing? Crystal. A Few Good Men ref. Micah just wanted to show DL. Micah knows her name is Jessica. Ah, but Niki does know. Speaking in Hindi (?) might help here. They come to him. Questions that need answers. So why doesn't this kid come to all the characters? Suresh is also looking for destiny, like Peter. but destiny is something you have, not something you look for. Ooooh, good point! So we have a mini-theme of "accept yourself as something good".

And just because I really am that big a geek, I put together a look at the four paintings I referenced in my review and how they came to life in the episode:

Yay, Sara! I can’t believe how excellently you and Erin have done with these – not to mention cranking them out so that you are all caught up.
I’m glad you did discuss the subplots. It would be easy to entirely dismiss them, but I think they are important not only to the ongoing arc for each of those characters, but also to looking at this whole ep. I think it was Karen that pointed out how much of this ep is about protecting or attempting to protect. Not just saving people, but trying to protect them – whether that is right or not and whether it works or not. And the two subplots are each excellent commentaries on that. D.L. and Niki and Micah (and even Jessica) alternately trying to protect each other. Mohinder’s father hid information to try and protect him, but didn’t protect himself. And these attempts by parents to keep things from their children, keep them “innocent through ignorance” as it were, turns out not to work. In fact, to potentially help set in motion the very things they were trying to avoid.
And this, of course, is exactly what we’re also seeing in Claire’s story in this ep and what we’ve seen happen with her since.
Loved this bit:
Also – eetah, eetah, eetah on your pointing out Simone’s heroism. Since I see Simone as one of the show’s stand-in’s for “normal”, non-powered people, I think it is very significant to see her heroism. I think that was an important and distinct choice on the part of the show’s writers and creators. She and Peter were well-matched in the ep; each doing what was right regardless of their own well-justified fears.
(By the by? I got shivers all over again reading just your description of the whole locker room scene. That one will stay with me for a long time, I tell ya!)
Brava, Sara, again.

It's hard not to just give a big "eetah" to Lola's comments; she really hits a lot of the points I loved in your review! I was fascinated at how narrow Jackie's view is; rather a pre-Angel Cordelia; she really doesn't see anyone outside of her own clique. What a hard and brutal redemption. Yikes.
And the heroism of Simone, not quite believing, not quite non-believing, and risking the fact that it could be true, or that the man she cares about is either going into danger or not quite right, and still, she leaves it up to him. Now I'm blanking on the episode, but even Mr. Bennet (I think; work, brain, work!) says something about heroism being about the choices we make...reminded me of a grayer Giles, for a moment. It applies to Peter, too...willing to take on Sylar without any promise that he could defend himself or her.
Question: Does Peter absorb some of Sylar's power in this scene? Because it seemed as if he was deflecting the locker doors...
Also loved the idea of Zach as Claire's "Jiminy Cricket"! Perfect description.
Finally, your observation about Ando really dovetails with the heroism of Simone. Both are theorectically powerless, yet without them, Hiro and Peter would be much worse off...their strength and support is heroic in and of itself.
So much here, but wanted to tell you what an excellent job you did with this review; that was a hell of an episode and you hit it on the nail!
