Niki's cute husband is named D.L. As to who will bite the dust . . . I just don't know. It would have to be one of the lesser characters. Quite frankly, killing off a major character so early in the season would seem a bit off to me. Then again . . . it could happen. It would be a bit unprecedented to kill off one of the cast regulars at this point in the series, wouldn't it? The only other show I can think of offhand that's done anything similar is Angel with Doyle, and reports vary as to whether that was planned since the beginning or a result of external issues.

Well, I was basing it on the fact that before he met Paul he appeared to have no abilities; afterward he was a telekinetic--just as Paul was. So I went with the conclusion they seemed to be pointing us toward: that one way or another, Gabriel took Paul's ability after he killed him. But I also agree that his affinity for mechanics, for fixing things, is related as well. Particularly given the point they made of showing he somehow has a perfect sense of time. I just haven't worked out how they might all be related. Yet. I didn't see Gabriel as having a perfect sense of time, but as having a perfect sense if timING. He can tell, by the sound, how "off" the mechanical adjustment is. You may be right, though, in that's what they meant him to be doing. I just didn't take it that way myself. I have this whole "mechanical" thing going. Oh, I didn't mean EVERY "special" had to get abused to get that way. I just think they really don't need to go there with any other characters. One is traumatic enough What I meant about Syler (but said poorly) is...how does "I'm not JUST a watchmaker like my father, I'm way BETTER than that!" translate to brainsucking evil when Niki and Mohinder's "father issues" are (IMO) a lot more...affective, I guess.

Peter is clairvoyant when it comes to his brother - he feels what Nathan feels. All he needs to do is look at the brain? Fits with the whole watchmaker glasses and how he can see the inner workings of them so easily. Right, exactly. I'm also counting the dream about whatshername's father (I honestly can't remember, sorry) the night he died as evidence of some sort of clairvoyant/telepathic/empathic ability. Since both were dreams - the car crash being the other example - I figure maybe that's how he works. Stuff comes to him in dreams. So...two different abilities? Or is the clairvoyance is a necessary aspect of being able to temporarily manifest the abilities of others? I wonder if there's anything else he can temporarily "absorb" from someone else? Memories? Illness?

Illness? His SIL made a point of saying he had great empathy; maybe both abilities are aspects of a powerful empathy - he can get inside others' heads and let them get inside his. But he doesn't control - he understands, and allows himself to be influenced by THEM, rather than forcing them to do things, as our Pusher does.

Our "pusher" (force your will to bend to mine) Eden is a woman. Our "empath" (react to the understanding of the Other) Peter is a man. Me, I like the role-reversal from the traditional models there.

Nope. YOU can't change the past. But you might be able to talk others into doing it for you. Oh, and also...Peter clearly has a power of his own. He's clairvoyant. Sometimes. So...Sylar can look at someone else's brain and then reconfigure his own? Oooo---I like that theory. Given the available evidence, it makes a helluva lot of sense. This is my theory as well. Was discussing it last night with my watching buddy after the show. And I think Sylar has more than one personal talent... he knows how things work... an intuitive sense, maybe a precognative sense. It applies to both mechanics and people. He say's something to the effect while his first victim is in the shop.. that he senses exactly what's "wrong" with him. Vlad

Not what it appears to be. Hee. Broken watch? Mr. Grey. German 1917. Supersmarts? Gabriel Wow, Papa Suresh sure works fast Matt Eden! With longer hair. Whose power will trump whose? So it worked on him. Haitian dude! OK. So Claire only got to be a cheerleader 6 months ago. She would have been a freshmen, but she didn't make the original cuts in the fall, I guess? Do cheerleaders practice in the spring? Papa Suresh contacted Daddy Bennett Hiro realizes his mistake April 24th So Hiro is in 2 places at once at this point?

Part I
Niki in AA, 1 year sober
Texas Tina
So smart he's flunking out of school
DL is an ex con at this point
Father? Eh? Yeah, absentee father.
Niki is working at a hotel?
I don't know if I'm ready to get to know you.
Nathan and Peter
Father is still alive
Did what?
Family wealth
Dad and Nathan are lawyers
Peter just graduated from Nursing School
Wife is not paralyzed, no accident yet
Prosecuting Linderman
Dad's Linderman's attorney?
If the soul exists, scientifically speaking, it exists in the brain
Ah, the family isn't my family fantasy. Been there, done that.
Insignificant, wanted to be special. ref Hiro and Ando's conversation in the pilot. And Nathan can't win the election if he's considered "special."
Father was a watchmaker too. So how many sons do we have following in their father's footsteps at this point? Mohinder, Nathan, Gabe
Daddy Bennett interrogating Eden. Gues Haitain Dude got to her.
Eden's got quite a rap sheet.
Eden's powers don't work on Haitian Dude or when he's around. Haitian Dude can block her powers?
Hiro's talking to himself. How weird is that?

So he can do little jumps, just not big ones, or it like the TARDIS? He can only go where he's supposed to?
Tomoorrow, the swallow will slay the Dragon. OK.
Jessica was Niki's sister. Twin? Possessing her?
Hal is dad.
Money issues.
Ah, the accident.
Selfless and empathetic or self-centered and self-righteous?
He's nicer than you. -He can afford to be.
Inherited birthright.
Wow, Nathan is a right prick.
This isn't Sylar, is it?
He flew out of the car. self-defense reflex?
And that's how it happened. Interesting.
Prophetic dreams? Eh? By himself or with the Spirit Guide?
Brothers to bring down father. I see how that could lead to suicide.

Linderman. He's the reason she's paralyzed. Yup. Very very interesting, when you look at the whole arc. Someone tell me if I have any of the steps wrong. Linderman was working with their dad, they both didn't like that and didn't like Linderman being dirty. Nathan wanted to help the DA prosecute Linderman, but Peter was the one that didn't want them to have their dad get in trouble. Nathan convices Peter to testify against their dad (to help get Linderman). Linderman's goons in a van cause the accident in which Nathan (inadvertently, I think) flies (for the first time?, do we know) and his wife is paralyzed. Nathan tells Peter that his testimony isn't needed, because their dad died of a heart attack (although, really, he killed himself - are we therefore given the impression that perhaps he killed himself because of the shame of being indicted, etc.?). But we don't know how Nathan moved from that place to running for office while being backed by Linderman's money.

1000 paper cranes. Damn!!!!!
So that's where Charlie is.
Aw....
Evolutionary Imperitive. Hmm...
So what is different about the heroes? Can it be detected by the technology we have?
Brian Davis is that Sylar? If so, why is he called Sylar?
Gabriel goes to see Brian Davis.
Daddy Bennett's going to see Papa Suresh.
You're only as sick as your secrets
What did you do that was so bad that I can't have my father back?
So Niki's lost time before.
There it is.
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This misinformation on genetics is REALLY getting to me now. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope for the future is the heroes' destiny.
Favorite daughter, like Nathan is the favorite son Father killed Jessica accidentally
She shoves the check in his mouth. Well, damn, they really could have used that. I don't care if it's guilt money.

And Sylar's real name is Gabriel Grey. No religious significance there. **snicker** Loved how that arc was played out. Slowly letting us see that the guy was twisted all along, the powers just . . . . allowed him to do something about the wackiness that was in his head already. Plus, we know why the watch is important. Also, since his power was to "see what's wrong and fix it", and he seems to have grabbed the telekinesis after seeing how the guy's brain was "wrong/broken", does that confirm that he really is grabbing powers from the people who's brains he takes?

So. The eclipse definitely wasn't the trigger--Peter could already fly, the Haitian had his mental mojo working, Charlie was remembering stuff, and Eden was employing her powers of persuasion. Hm. I found that interesting too. That the powers were . . . slowly starting to emerge, in different folks, on different time tables, at approximately the same time, but not triggered (apparently) by one specific event.

Part IV
Bears from around the world.
Jackie's a bitch. Yeah, we know.
It's your actions that make you good or bad.
So that's how Daddy Bennett knows.
And there it is. So she's not cheating on him at this point?
He's been in the force for 11 years.
Dad committed suicide
She has a blood clot in her brain. Was this before the six months ago or not?
But I'm supposed to save you. Yeah, and Awww.
Aw.... So that's what the memorial was for? Or did Sylar end up killing her anyway?
He jumped again. Now he can't jump.
So does no one get phased by his suddenly appearing? Everyone just seems to take it completely in stride that he's intruded in this exercise class.

Yup. And kudos to Rachael and anyone else that guessed a childhood trauma/abuse thing that caused a "split personality". So, maybe her specialness is just super power and she's only manifesting it when in the Jessica persona?
