Okay, so overall I found the episode to be a placeholder. It didn't advance any of the plots in any significant way - it was more like "hey, remember where we were a couple months ago?" Which is something about this show that grates on me - they keep underestimating the audience with the voiceovers, too. I waited till morning to say anything, just in case something revealed itself as interesting, but mostly it was same old, same old. The one exception was Niki's bit, where she can seemingly access her power as herself. That's new. And CE is also new, but who didn't know they'd introduce him in the last two minutes of the ep? Hmmm. I guess I'd say less "placeholder" and more "fork in the road, signpost to the next path".

Hmm... something just occurred to me. Was Peter invisible because CE was touching him, or was it because he'd already absorbed CE's power? It's just a vibe I had, but I think he became invisible before they touched - maybe when he started chasing him?

Yeah, and bad-daddy doesn't have the kind of money for the setup under the paper factory (or wholesale warehouse, or whatever it is). So I'm with Sara on the idea that he works for Linderman. I have a feeling - and it's a non-spoilery feeling - that Linderman is Claire's mom, not dad. Have we ever heard of Linderman referred to 'Mr.'? Ooooh, I was having a "is Linderman a woman" moment last night, too. No reason for it, just a sudden . . . . thing that crossed my mind. Maybe purely because they never say? ( I don't think they've said.)Maybe Linderman is connected with a woman . . . ?

Nathan called him "Mr. Linderman" when he asked for the painting, as did Linderman's aide in Las Vegas when talking to Niki. And those are just the first two times that spring to mind. ETA: If you go here and do a find for "Linderman," you'll see Nathan said "Mr. Linderman" in the very first ep. Well, at least now I know for sure!

I just read the EW recap of this ep, in which the reviewer wrote the following about Niki: "She flipped back and forth between the two personalities in a Gollum-like scene with her lawyer..." Not only is that the perfect way to describe it, but it also prompted Greg to say the following when I shared it with him: "Yes exactly...next thing you know she's going to be calling Micah "my precious." Followed shortly by Greg adding ""They trixed us! Filthy lawyer, they took our precious!"" ;D **snerk** ;D

Nasty doctors trixs us." I told him he had to stop or else I really was going to laugh out loud at work.

Nope. Not DNA. Makes me happy, since it was so very badly drawn. And...I really do have to say this: The Human Genome Project does not work the way Mohinder seems to think it works. They sequenced ONE human. One. Craig Venter, unless I'm very much mistaken. You can't trace ANY genetic markers using the Human Genome Project. Not the way they're talking about doing it. Heee! ;D But maybe this is from a super-secret hidden part of the HG Project! An agency created to balance out the one that papercompany!daddy is running! Hrm. If it was supersecret, how did MoDaddy find out about it? I think the writers have some notion that the HGP is a database of sequences of all or at least millions of humans, and that you can just search it and find people that way. I dunno - do any of them remember donating blood to the HGP?

I think Linderman's the one pulling HRG's strings... me, too. think of his collection of stuff related to powers - isaac's paintings, the sword - there must be a lot more where those came from. i wonder what his interest is.

Ohhhhh. She was taping it at first because she thought she'd meet her real parents and show it to them and they'd understand. But now, she just wants it for herself . . . so she'll never forget. i thought that was such a poignant moment. this claire is so far from the claire of six months ago. i imagine i'm not the only one on here who's relieved they're not writing his character off the show!

I am increasingly interested in the Haitian. me, too. i also wish they would give him a name! he definitely seems to have his own agenda. it would be interesting if he were a mole, but it would also be interesting if he were acting as a completely free agent. i'm really glad they've been adding layers of depth to the character.

Part II Claire and Zach. Claire's trying to rebuild their friendship. Claire looks a lot older now. "We wouldn't play well together." Death penalty. The $2 mil. That DL returned? Linderman is keeping that quiet on purpose? Or is there another $2 mil? Multiple Personality Disorder is a real hard sell, but I'm thinking it's gonna work in this case. Ali Larter is killing me. Bushido code. This is like the gambling dilemma in Vegas. Maybe Hiro's not supposed to get the sword this way. Dude, don't stand around playing with the sword, get the hell out of there! Here's the painting with the dinosaurs. So he really doesn't go back in time that far. Or does he do that later? Ha! It's a replica. And Linderman has the original. Of course. Shirtless is definitely the right way to woo a girl. Isaac is healthy now, while Peter is not. Painting of Peter exploding. Nathan still skeptical in the face of overwhelming evidence. What a great group scene. Putting the pieces together.
