Oh yeah! Right about it not being Jessica. For one thing? She's not violent enough for it to be Jessica. I liked how mirror!Jessica was back to tell Nikki to be strong. And then, whammo! She really does have Jessica's strength and kicks her ass. ;D And she finds Micah and busts him out too. Mohinder and Molly find DL, and Mohinder has to help him. (That's my Momo!) Elevator shut down? Micah will fix it, I'll bet. Hiro jumped him and Ando back to the office. ;D Heee! I love how no one really makes much of a fuss over them, swords and all. ;D Office life always just keeps going on. Ah. And whoever said (Sara? Karen?) that the cutting out heart thing would be Hiro leaving Ando behind for the big battle? Right on the button! But this time it's not done in a bad way, but a good and right way. "You've shown me what bravery is." And Ando saying they'll be telling Hiro's story. And Hiro finally realizing that "It is not the sword. It's the man." **bounces** And he really does look bad ass. ;D And then sweet again in an instant, with his "really?" grin. Mr. D and Peter. He seems to think Peter brought himself here. "You came because you needed to hear the truth." Awwww. And he "had the power all along". How wizard of oz. ;D Unconditional love. Love for family and strangers and the city and those who live there? Will that be what saves the day? (Very nice camera work on the scene that brings him back to the present, the sideways angle turning to him on the pavement, etc.) HRG will stand by Peter and take Claire's place. Because he believes Peter saved her. Oh, and now we get his first name? Noah? So, in the alt!future he was running some kind of ark, eh? Yep, I called it! We got a cute scene with Molly and Micah and starting up the elevator right in time. Guess we're all set for . . . yep! Face off between Peter and Sylar! And everyone else is on their way to the big show-down as well. And now we've definitely diverged from the 5 year future, because people are too close to the possible explosion place that we saw in the future but they don't have the ability to regenerate. I hope hope hope that Nathan ends up coming thru. That love of family and his brother turns the tide. Ooooh! He can fly the exploding person up high enough to not be a threat, maybe! But then he'll go boom. Which is not good either. Ah, but Peter can do it, too . . . Hmmmmm. OK, back for the final scene! **bounces**

Ok, while I really loved the episode, and really can't wait till next season. Was anyone else dissapointed in the final fight scene between Syler and Peter? I was expecting all kind of fireworks and really cool superHero stuff, so that part was just a slight letdown for me.
But I am thrilled that Nathan came through, and I figure the man can fly really freaking fast, so he drops off Peter and gets away before the big boom.
And yes you know damn good and well peter will not be dead. That character is just too central of a character to not have around next year.
Also I am glad Syler is not completely gone, He really is a pretty good bad guy.
Alas September is going to take forever.

Hmmm.
Random thoughts:
1. Sooooo glad Ando is okay (will James Kyson Lee get lead billing next season, do you think?)
2. Interesting turnaround for HRG/Noah: from nameless bad guy to biblically named Father of the Year.
3. Will Matt die?
4. Doesn't look like DL will die. (He didn't phase the bullet thru because then it would have hit Nicki, obviously)
5. When Nicki knocked out shapeshifter girl how come we didn't get to see her REAL appearance?
6. I am extremely upset at the thought of Sylar coming back next year. And, btw, wouldn't Noah and Claire and Mohinder all have noticed when Matt was loaded into the ambulance that a very important body was missing and immediately started a hunt?
7. Why didn't Peter just fly himself up into the air? Only one power at a time?
8. It's all about family. And love. But good book-ending of start of season and ending.
9. Not to rain on anybody's parade, but I'm going to have to say that overall I"m slightly underwhelmed. It was okay as an ending. Pretty comic-booky---which is fine as that is true for the whole show. But.....not really "kick ass" in my book.
10. A bit confused as to how Hiro wound up in the past. [Now that is a cool storyline --- to explain how he becomes FutureHiro]. But I saw Sylar pick him up and throw him at the building and then he winked out. So, I guess Hiro transported himself in order to not be slammed up against the building, but since it was spur of the moment and under stress he wound up in 17th centaury Japan? Maybe I do understand it.
11. I seriously need the superpower of locating things (car keys, purse, etc)!
12. I don't think Grandma Petrelli is going to be very happy at Peter surviving and Nathan dead. (I'll miss the actor, but maybe he needs to stay home and take care of the kids while The Dixie Chicks are on the road.)
13. Can powers repeat? Like, can somebody else get the power to heal? [Replicating loaves and fishes would be useful too---to cure world hunger. Walking on water not so much. ;D]
14. And (along with comment #9) I can't say I'm moved to rewatch at the moment. But if the kids want to watch over the summer maybe I'll feel differently.
15. So will Claire and Mr. B really go home? Is the mom still there? brother?

"Haven't I killed you before?" "Didn't take." Yay! Fight banter! Oh, Matt! Gun fire? Those things? Never helpful. Nicki goes to help and distracts Sylar long enough for Peter to punch him. Hiro arrives and puts the sword thru him. (So it really is a moment of them coming together to help.) But Peter is still nuking. And wants Hiro to kill him. Eeep! Sylar throws Hiro (jump thru time and space, Hiro!) and then . . . hopefully dies? Dies, yes? With the dead eyes and all? He's really dead, yes please? So now maybe HRG shoots him? Or Claire? Only she can't. But . . . wouldn't it just distract him enough to not nuke? He wouldn't die, right? 'Cuz he's got that healing thing. So why not shoot? "There is no other way." "Yes, there is. The future isn't written in stone, Claire." Woot!!! Called it!!! Nathan came thru in the end! And flying really was a good power to have! OK, I called it about 5 minutes before it happened because of all the hints we got earlier about Nathan and family and unconditional love and what not and it was pretty obvious by then and . . . . um. But still!!! I kinda got it!! Woot! **does dorky chicken dance thing** Awwww. The "I can't let you die" "and I can't let everyone else" was a nice moment. "You saved the cheerleader so we could save the world." That was a nice touch. Maybe Peter will survive, because invulnerable? And maybe he'll find a way to shield Nathan? Maybe? Oh, crappity crap. Sylar trail of blood. Noooooooooooo! Another cockroach. So, he's like a cockroach - too damn hard to kill. Should have taken his head off!!! Any one of you who had him in your power for a bit? Take. His. Head. Off! HRG, Mohinder, and yes, even you Hiro, I'm looking at each one of you. Oooooh. Coda? Set up for next season! Coolio! Drop from sky . . . Hiro!!! Ooooh, and he's back in the past! Back to his favorite story hero's past, I'm thinking? Oh! Maybe the start of it all? What with the eclipse and the mysterious sign and all?

Darn, I missed that, trying to watch 24 during Heroes commercial breaks. Who/what are the villains next season? Will Nathan Petrelli please grow a spine? !!!!! GAILBoth grow a spine and cut the umbilical cord! **nods** I'm glad he came thru in the end. The brothers loved each other and, ultimately, Nathan listened to Claire and couldn't let Peter be responsible for people dying.

Eetahing Jeff and Sue's feeling that it wasn't quite as . . . kick-ass at the end as I was expecting. A good ep, yes, but . . . not quite as OMG as it maybe could have been. Then again, with an ending built on the "power of love", perhaps completely kick-ass wouldn't have worked. Hmmmmm. A good season ender, but not the best. Still, very good season over all. And a very nice opener on next season! Which is perhaps the intended "kick-ass" moment anyway.

Hmmm. Random thoughts: 6. I am extremely upset at the thought of Sylar coming back next year. Me, too. I loved everything up till that moment. And now I feel cheated. He's supposed to be dead. Hiro was supposed to take him out. Keeping him around because you want to use him for more stories is kind of cowardly from a writing perspective, IMO. WHEN will they learn to cut his frickin' head off?! Drama. Redemption. Non-plotty reasons. Incidentally, the fact that Sylar yet lives is strong evidence, to me, that Peter does, too. They're mirrors of one another, and I don't think they'd kill the "good" one and leave the "bad" one alive.

I was thinking "Okay, now that the exploding man thing has been dealt with (and we'll miss you, whichever of the Petrelli brothers who isn't coming back) it's time to chop Sylar up into discrete bits and seperate them."

Sue: I was wondering about the "why didn't Peter fly himself up?" thing, too: and I guess the "one power at a time" thing explains it: that he was caught in a loop. They spoke before of Claire "distracting" him, even if she had to stab him in the "off switch" place to do it. I think that if he'd been able to fly, he'd have had enough focus not to have melted down in the first place.
ETA: And what Rachael said. Plot reasons. Angst.

So.
When the moon winds up between the Sun and Terra, a wide stripe of some sort of mega-intensified-moonbeams washes across the land where the shadow hits, warping the DNA of semi-random selections of people (semi-random because there appears to be a family-concentrated selective process), causing genes to activate, producing Plot Devices enzymes or some such yeehah biophysics thing, which allow Our Heroes to do wild-ass cool things.
Well, that explains NOTHING about Gerald's Game or Dolores Clairborne.

*Makes incoherent happy babbly squeeing noises* I did not see any of that coming. I was never so glad to be unspoiled in my life. So, how do you stop an exploding man? You can't. But you can make the right choices when it happens. Future!Hiro, I'm guessing, went directly after Sylar, Ando died, and F!H wasn't in the right place at the right time. Our Hiro followed his heart instead of his head, saved Ando (squeee! He's learning to think on his feet!) and was in the right place at the right time to skewer Sylar. Also, I think Mr Nakamura knew Hiro was doing the right thing. He honored Hiro's choice of action, and he looked very proud of his son. So because Hiro chose the way he did, all of the pieces came together and everyone was where they were meant to be, at the right time. The visions were right, but the interpretation was questionable. Niki/Jessica chose love over greed. She saved her son, and most likely DL ( that DL's okay because she's earned the right to be happy), and was in the right place, right time, to help Mr Bennett and Parkman. Even more interesting is that Jessica shared control with Niki because she knows how strong love really is. Again, the right choice put her in the right place. Claire followed her heart right out a window ("I already have a family") to save Peter. Matt followed his heart, chose to be a hero, and would not let Molly die. I hope he doesn't pay the ultimate price, but if he does, at least he knows he made the right choice. And in the end, Nathan chose love over power, sacrificed himself and saved the day. I really, really, really did not see that one coming. That was a Buffy-off-the-tower moment. I'm not awake yet, really, so I hope this makes sense. It's all about love and family, which is actually also the basis of Crossing Jordan, when you get right down to it. Tim Kring is a sappy sentimental fool. So am I, and after this, I'd follow him to the ends of the earth to read his work. This is the one show I'm looking forward to for next season. Anne, and the fallout over the disappearance of Senator Petrelli should be really interesting as well

Both grow a spine and cut the umbilical cord! **nods** I'm glad he came thru in the end. The brothers loved each other and, ultimately, Nathan listened to Claire and couldn't let Peter be responsible for people dying. And Nathan thought about his daughter and couldn't let Claire be responsible for Peter dying either - Nathan took the gun and said something to her. Fathers are good. Hiro's, Micah's, Claire's (both of them, adoptive and bio). Even poor confused Matt Parkman thought about his wife and kid, and chose to save Molly. I need tea. Maybe I'll think more clearly when I'm awake.
