Count me IN - check your email. OK - I have just created a folder in my email called "ScubieFest 2004" and put Lee's email in it. I'll accumulate all emails on this topic in that folder. I'll issue some reminders every month or so until January - then I'll see what I've got and if there is enough interest I'll get serious about trying to line up a cabin rental in these h'yar woods. I don't mean that you can't change your mind after Jan 1 - I'll try to arrange things so that last minute cancelations and acceptances can be accomodated. I just need to get a realistic feel for this.

I wont be on today because I have to train my replacement. But I wanted everyone to know about the WONDERFUL evening my wife and I had with Laura. First off, Laura is a VERY SEXY woman with penetrating eyes! Yum! Anyway, we met her at the restaurant and stayed for hours. My wife was the designated parent, so Laura and I split a bottle of wine, and I, of course, had to have a little more after that. We talked about everything from law, to my politically incorrect humor (lots of Irish, Italian, African, African-American jokes), to Italy (Laura and my wife will be going to Italy together next year), to my child-like palet, love and of course, Buffy, Angel and the S'Cubies! It was such a great time and we plan on doing it again soon. It also made Victoria and I anxious to meet other S'Cubies! We're still waiting on the spring-time Spring meeting! Anyway, I'm off! I'll be around next week sometime! I'm so glad I've hooked up with this group! Take care everyone! Aww, flippersmack, I'm going to miss you all! Flippersmack that New York is so far from Washington, because Laura sounds like quite the lady. Of course, I can dream, which is what I generally do, about her and all the rest of the S'cubie ladies. We single S'cubie males have to get our fun somehow. The ladies fantasize about James Marsters, and the guys fantasize about the ladies. Okay, I fantasize about the ladies.....

The food of the Goddess... I prefer dark chocolate, the darker the better, and usually plain. With additions: Cost Plus has a dark bar with crystalized ginger bits, a great PMS cure. Another good one, which I can't eat after mid-afternoon because I get too buzzed, is Starbucks dark chocolate with espresso beans. Trader Joe's makes the best peanut butter cups covered with dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. Around here, Cost Plus and TJ's have the best chocolate, quality and price.
From today's LA Times, another good reason to eat dark chocolate (if we needed one):
"... a German study in this week's Journal of the American Medical Assn. suggests that dark chocolate contains plant substances called polyphenols that can lower blood pressure."
Chocolate is good for you (until the next study, anyway)!

You aren't out to kill the S'cubies, are you?

Here's two of my favorites I've not seen mentioned yet.
Have any of you ever had those chocolate covered dried cherries? I'm not talking about traditional chocolate covered cherries, here. I mean cherry flavored dark or milk chocolate surrounding a dried cherry. Depending on where you get them there seems to be a quite a bit of variation in the quality. The best I've had have been from quality confectionary shops but even at cafes or places like Cost Plus World Market I've never met one *I'd kick out of bed*, as it were.
My other favorite is dark (or milk) covered orange peel. And I mean the real orange peel, not the orange jelly center. Those I can only get from proper chocolate or confectionary shops.
There used to be an independent ice cream shop in San Francisco (it was gone last time I was in town) that sold a flavor called Sabra. It was a blend of dark chocalate and orange flavors and sent me swooning. I've occassionally seen commercial ice creams market a chocolate/orange combination but it always seems to be mandarine orange and far too sweet. The ice cream I remember so fondly was just the perfect blend. Very rich and just moderately sweet.
Of course, as I've mentioned before, Peanut M&Ms are addicting to me and I fell off the wagon in a big way not too long ago so I've been staying away. Actually, I've been staying away from all chocolate candy but it hasn't helped. I just seem to over compensate by over-eating other things. I always wondered what would happen if I ate exactly what I truly wanted rather than denying myself the satisfaction and over eating what I've settled for instead. Would what I truly craved satisfy me so I didn't feel compelled to compensate elsewhere? I've never dared put it to the test but maybe I should consider giving it a try.

Umm, I have a board question for one of our most awesome technopagans... Is it possible to push all the closed SSS Parts to the back of the main menu list? Yesterday Nan mentioned a Links and Resources section and I have been looking for it, (because I was going to put that Order of Aurelius link there) but cannot seem to find it. This may well be just because I'm blind or dumb or something, but all the looking around got me to thinking that some threads are not being used much because they are lost on the back pages. If this has been adressed previously I apologize, and I'm really NOT trying to make more work for you guys, but it might stimulate more discussions in the other threads. Missbuffy, the topic/thread to which I was referring is called "Recommended Links and Resources," and it's on Page 2 of the Main Board, which currently has 5 pages. Only Page 1 of the Main Board shows, with the current thread at the top, unless you specifically click on some different page.
If that doesn't help you locate it, PM me and I'll try to figure out what the problem is. However, I heartily endorse your suggestion to put locked parts off Page 1 of the Main Board (if that's possible) except the previous 2 Parts or so (so people still have them for easy reference). I'd also add that those things that were one-shot (or mistakes) and are no longer consulted be excised completely. I haven't checked today, but there used to be some Hellos from people who mistook the Main Page for the current thread, etc., and I believe those things could be cut, if they haven't been already.
Later: now I've looked, and in addition to what's mentioned above, there are polls from May and June and news items that were pertinent only in May June too. I think they could go. However, things like reviewing guidelines need to stay because they should be there for new reviewers (if any) to consult. [/color]

Also, the forum entitled "Episodic Elaborations" - once it is open, can we place the Buffy discussion threads that I have started and the [i/]Angel[/i] discussion threads Betsy started in that forum? Or is it to be used for something entirely different? Just wondering....

I think your other two suggestions of deleting the unused or out of date threads, and keeping the most recents SSS Parts up front for reference are also excellent ideas.

AH Dave, I can't get anything past you! Curses!! I actually was thinking the Slayerfest thing when I came up with that title, but didn't really expect anyone to remember it. HOWEVER, no, no, no - this is not a trap to hunt down unsuspecting S'cubies - though I might consider setting up a "Bangels" ambush event . . . hmmm. And there's the trap-door to a cot in the basement for JM, should he accept one of my repeated invites . . . so huh. There are some similarities to the Slayerfest, come to think of it.

If James Gaskins might be willing to put on a really nice silk suit and emcee the event, ala Mr. Trick (who, as I recall, is one of James' favorite characters), we could have even more similiarities. I don't plan to panic unless someone with the last name of Gorch shows up for the event. Or Germans dressed all in black.

A fight! I've been itching for a good fight........I should invite my college suitemates up (well, except for the girl who gets naked. On second thought, Rob and Dave and John might enjoy that - maybe I should bring her) - we're all about wrestling and fighting. Bring it on, Spring, bring it on!

ROTFLMAO!!!!Man, Faith you have got to stop by more often! ;D Careful what you ask for. Faith's a little sensitive. Trust me on that one...though all in all she was pretty understanding about the whole thing. Well...by her standards, at least. So...did anyone else catch Madonna laying one on Britney on the MTV Awards last night? Damn.

I noticed Rob is logged in. Good morning, Rob! *waves*
How are you this morning? We're hardly ever on at the same time - are we sure it's 11am, not 11pm?
I read the first chapter in your new series - nice! I'm digging it. About to go read the second chapter.......
(Yep, vain attempt to avoid work. I'm worthless right before a three-day weekend. Well, more worthless than normal)

The girl thinks she is the next Madonna, and now that she's actually been kissed by her, look out her head's gonna explode!

Hey guys. Headache's all gone. It actually was last night but the board was going all wonky on me so I couldn't post much. I have never had a migraine, but I'm wondering if that's what it was. I was sick to my stomach and dizzy and weak. To make matters worse, the stuff I took for it made my stomach burn for a couple of hours. Kittens- The kittens are doing fine right now. They are in a box under a lamp in Jordans room. The girls are so excited about having them. John (although you won't see this) I'm glad you and your wife and Laura had a nice time last night. Becky is the closest S'cubie to me and she seems to have gotten as far away as possible. Nicki is the closest now. If she decides to go to another country I'm going to get suspicious. I am so jealous of everyone who is going to get to go to Springs. I am too flippersmackin' poor and have too many flippersmackin' kids
