This thread is for posting announcements of general interest that might get lost in our rapid turnover of threads when one can't stay glued to the board. Examples of what should be posted here... - Serious life events we don't want to inadvertently ignore, such as the passing of a family member, the birth of a child, a vacation or surgery which will take you away from the board for an extended period of time, or an event of significant importance in your life, such as Rachael surpassing Patti's post total or someone reaching Master S'cubie status.
- Staff announcements concerning a change in the board, such as this new thread, or the start of a new game or contest.
- A brief announcement of an upcoming confirmed appearance in a movie or on tv by someone in the Jossverse, or a new interview, etc. Say something like ''there is a new interview with James M. The link is on the interview thread." .
This thread is NOT intended to eliminate discussion of any of the above items on the main thread. It is meant to be an info source for people who can't keep up, which includes all of us at times. Examples of what should NOT be posted here: - Discussion. Don't reply to the posts here - offer your sympathies or congrats or questions or responses on the main board or IM the people in question, or put your comments on the appropriate thread. Posts in response to announcements will be deleted so this thread remains useful.
- Daily events. Continue to use the main board to tell us when your child got an A or your professor was a jerk.
- Opinions about something or requests for the staff. Use the IM or email functions to contact the staff as always.

There is a new thread on the S'cubiefest board for attendees to please post their memories and links to their pictures.
Some of you have already posted such in other places, but perhaps you could do a search and copy the contents into that specific holding place? It will be easier to find, and may help Erin and Sara create their S'cubiefest report.
EDITED: I have transferred all the 'memory' posts I found to that thread. If you missed them the first time around, go enjoy!

So sorry I missed S'cubiefest - Lee« Reply #197 on: Jun 29th, 2004, 09:08am » S'cubies, I am so, so, SO sorry I missed S'cubiefest and that I didn't call!! I hope no one worried. My grandmother died Thursday night and I was with my family all weekend. The funeral was yesterday and it was brutal. I don't know if any of y'all remember from our ScoopMe! days but this is my grandmother who suffered a heart attack last spring. She had been feeling really good lately but Thursday evening she had another major heart attack and died a few hours later. It's hit my family hard because we were super close with my grandmother. It still seems so unreal.
I stopped into the office for just a few minutes to pick up some work and then I'm heading back to my apartment to sleep. I think I've slept maybe 4 hours since Thursday. I'll probably come back to the office Thursday.
I hate to ask and to burden everyone but if y'all could keep my parents in your thoughts this week, I would so very much appreciate it. Thank you so much!

your ol' unca Vlad has managed to pull together the S'cubiefest Memories. The link to view the pictures (titled simply S'cubiefest) is located directly below the link to enter the Message Board on the the S'cubie website...right between the FAQ button and the Pic of the Week button.
Revel in all the pictures, read the funny quotes. You may have already seen Rae's, Matt's and Sara's, but also included are all new Vlad & Patti's and also Erin's. Everyone had a blast and we hope it might bring a smile to your face too.
I have more pictures, and as time permits, I will be adding them to the S'cubiefest area. Be alert for official updates as they appear.
Okay folks, I believe that may be it for now. That's a whole lotta stuff for a busy monday. And, as always, remember to drop by the assorted discussion areas and let the authors, writers and artists know what you think of their endeavors.

Normally I would have posted this in the morning, but alas, I have to be up at the crack of dawn and moving fast (so as not to catch on fire, y'know) and I am deciding that surely some folk will read this and get the buzz started.
Nan Dibble's final review is now posted. Angel 5.22 "Not Fade Away: Heere There Be Dragons"
It's as fine as any she has ever written and a fitting send off to our heros last seen defiantly standing ready for battle in that dark little alley. Somehow, it seems fitting that the last sight we have of our team is there in the shadows, in a dank and dirty little cul de sac, the seemingly entire forces of hell bearing down upon them. It's sorta how they entered the picture.
Read Nan's review and then go post your comments in her review thread. I know this was particularly hard for her to write, but Nan... like Angel and Spike, Gunn and Ills... you grasped your sword, you stood forth and you went to work. *hug* Thank you for all your hard work this season. We would have been less without you. You made a difference...and that's what Angel always boiled down to...making that difference. Gracias.
Nan Dibble's review may be found in the Angel's Investigation area on the S'cubie website. Don't forget to stop by her review thread and comment, congratulate, and love her to pieces. She deserves it.

Hi, S'Cubies I'm missing youall, but very busy with the writing and the coding of surveys. When I have break, it's usually the end of the day, and I come by just to see what's happening and check my IMs. It may be awhile before I can get back to posting on a regular basis, so I want youall to know you are in my prayers and my thoughts as I type and tabulate and curse MSWord as I try to make charts and tables and graphs of the data. {S'Cubies}

If anybody is following Carolyn's Uganda/Kenya/Tanzania saga updates are posted on pages 11 and 12 of part 229.
Yes, it's quite long but I edited a whole bunch (the Word document of all her emails to date is over 40 pages, and the updates cover from mid-June thru mid-July, about half of her emails. (She was out of touch while doing the safari and Kilmanjaro climb.)

A surprise for all our devoted weekend posters!
Two great things for your to read and to discuss.
Sara's review of Firefly 1.3: Bushwhacked is now posted for your reading convenience. Sara demonstrates that while this isn't necessarily a fan favorite, there's possibly a very good reason. Of course I won't spoil her interesting notions here. Read them for yourself.
Firefly 1.3: BUSHWHACKED: Lost in the Dark may be found in the Firefly area on the S'cubie website.
And, as if that weren't enough for a weekend surprise, Erin has graced us with another touch of an Angel. Err.. well an Angelphile anyway. This time up, it's I Fall to Pieces, ANGEL's first real episode as it got into the swing of things. City of... was the series premiere, Lonely Hearts was the first episode and In the Dark was a crossover event. So join Erin as she takes a look at the interpersonal relationships that make Angel Investigations tick.
I Fall to Pieces: The Eyes Have It may be found in the Angelphile area of the S'cubie website.
And, I believe that is it for now. Be sure to relate all your comments to the authors in their respective discussion threads.

IT'S SMUTDAY!!!
And wait till you see what Santa Vlad has in his bag for you! Have you all been naughty little boys and girls? Great!
First off, something entirely new. We now have gracing our website The S'cubieverse's Shortest Round Robin Ever!!! You heard right!
Spring Summers has written a solo Round Robin. "How's that," you ask? It originally started out as a duo, but unfortunately her partner was unable to participate...so she took her chapter and turned it into a short story. For which you should give thanks! Spring did a very terrific and funny job.
Pants on Fire by Spring Summers may be found in the Round Robin area on the S'cubie website.
Next up, we have another addition to our Round Robin area. Rae's chapter in the Round Robin II: How’d We—, Wha, Huh? What IS going on here?! is now available for your perusing pleasure. Chock full of Buffy and Spike goodness, you'll see why this is the most talked about 4 man S'cubie Round Robin of the 2004 summer. OKay, so it's the only 4 man S'cubie Round Robin of the summer... doesn't mean it's not exceptional! *L*
Find out what happens next on that ill-fated Scooby roadtrip in Round Robin II: How’d We—, Wha, Huh? What IS going on here?! by our own Rae-Rae located in the Round Robin area of the S'cubie website.
Finally, but oh so far from least, is the latest chapter of the ongoing Chronicles of Truth saga penned by our very own writer out of no-where, Rob Sorenson. He lives up to every previous chapter in every single tale with yet another one straight out of the park, through the uprights, a deep bomb from three'sville! Oh, whoops, a little too sports metaphorey for y'all most likely. let's jsut leave it with "Rob scores again...and again...and again." *wink* Now THAT'S a Smutday announcement. *G*
To read a caper fic that is putting Ocean's 12 to shame, Rob Sorenson's Trust: Chapter 28 can be found in the Fanfictional area(Top Shelf)...only on the S'cubie webite.
And that my dearest friends is all I have for you on this most delightfully decadent of days. Go forth and pleasure yourselves ...and make sure to tell the ones that made you happy how well they did. You don't have to send flowers or even call...jsut drop them a line or three in their very special discussion threads. They deserve to get some too, you know?
And with that, your technopagan must be away. Enjoy, enjoy some more, and then take a long lazy nap in a hammock while our cabana boys fetch your fruity drinks and massage lotion into your backs.

I keep forgetting to mention it:
There's a new button on the website. Located below the Main Menu, it says: What's NEW!
By merely pressing it, a pop up menu will ...well...pop up and show you the latest adn greatest on the S'cubie website. From there you can merey click the link and go straight to the area you wish to view. I hope this helps a little in staying caught up wtih all the great new things brought to you by your fellow S'cubies.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Special thanks to Patti & Vlad, I got my autographed S'cubie pic from S'cubiefest today!
Many thanks to all of you. I LOVE THE PIC! I am going to frame it and put it up on the wall in the little foyer where I have the computer.
There you all are, standing with Spike - fantastico! By the way, I kept looking for the With Lust, Spike signature. I could not find it, but it doesn't matter - the pic is perfect and it makes me smile everytime I look at it.
Thanks again!
