Following is the promised review of Erin’s short story, Damnation (Soon to be a major motion picture, starring Juliette Lewis and Johnny Depp.)
Ms Giannini’s star is so bright on the horizon, I don’t suggest looking at it directly. Damnation and desecration and fornication! The woman has talent. Who knew? Well, we S’cubies can all smugly say that we knew. So if you’re looking for new information on that score, no use reading Erin’s short story Damnation. But if you’re looking for an engaging story that will send a few chills up your spine, head right to page 4 of this S’cubie bulletin board and find the link to the story.
The story’s hook is simple but successful – our college student protagonist/antagonist establishes an immediate connection, with every woman who has ever walked down the block to the grocery store, by describing a series of disturbing encounters with men in motor vehicles.
The story goes on – in a matter-of-fact manner that is both effective and affecting – to quickly sketch the struggle of a young woman, who is at that time in her life when fears must be faced and decisions must be made. She has to find her truths first hand, and find the limits of her power, before she can understand the difference between iniquity and independence, between Jesus-freaks and Jesus.
Kudos, Erin. And thanks for the ride in your van (I think.)

Dig out your magnifying glass and deer stalker caps, 'cause Veronica is hot on the trail of her most elusive quarry yet... a man named John Smith. Join her and her chonicler, Spring Summers as they put together the clues and tell you jsut what it is you really saw. Remember: "Sometimes the dead don't stay dead, not until they're good and ready." Spring pulls out all the stops and provides us with what I would perhaps say is her best review yet. So, with all due haste, take a look at MEET JOHN SMITH: Time For A Change in OPEN CASE: Veronica Mars only on the S'cubie website. And, don't forget to cruise by the discussion thread on this website to shower Spring with your adulation. She sorta gets a kick out of it. Vlad, TA, tp

Did that get your attention? ok then... This seems like a good time to tell you guys - Spring has written a cool article plugging VM and Lost with the Buffy connections...Vlad is sending it to Buffy.nu and Slayage. I am sending it to 'Temple of Veronica Mars' and possibly a few other sites dedicated to that show (and Lost) Here is the link to the article - if you regularly visit other sites or LJ that might be interested in reading the reviews of any of our great reviewers, or joining us here, feel free to pass the article along to them for linkage... www.soulfulspike.com/marsforbuffyfans.htm

Why is it a Special edition? Well, 'cause we have lots and lots of special things for you.
First up:
Vlad's long awaited LOST review. *hangs his head* I know, I know...I said I would have it out to you guys on friday. I am sorry. Between real life and this being a really hard one to write, it took me a bit longer. But, I am hoping that the quality makes up for it. I consider this one to be one of the absolute best four LOST reviews I have ever written! *grin* Seriously tho', I did really take some time on it and I think it shows. I hope you all agree. And if you don't wel,l then tell me about it.
So, swing by LOST DISCOVERIES on the website and read my review, WALKABOUT: A Daytrip Down The Spiritual Path
Next up we have a Spikecentricity that you have all been either waiting for or dreading. Or perhaps both. Spring Summers bunched up all her courage and dares to tackle The Body. Its a Spring analysis, so you know it's good. I don;t even have to bother with that. In fact, like hte episode that Joss wrote, I think it's jsut best to let Spring's own words carry this one. Read it; you will not be sorry.
The Body: Don't Lie To Me can be found in Spikecentricity on the S'cubie website. Take your tissues.
and finally, far from least, we have a new Angelphile for you. Erin is now more than halfway through season one of ANGEL with her analysis of The Prodigal. Make sure you read her outstanding treatment of one of ANGEL's earliest pivotal episodes.
Erin's The Prodigal: Inheriting the Wind can be found in her Angelphile column... only on the S'cubie website.
See! Didn't I tell you that it was a SPECIAL saturday installment? Well worth the wait, I am sure you will agree.
As always, be sure to stop by the writers' discussion threads here on the message board and post your comments, critiques and criticisms. They love you for it.
Vlad, TA, tp

ATTENTION:
Our site doesn't sell anything. Closest we came was brokering some t-shirt deals late last year for S3 T-shirts. I don't see us ever selling anything in the near future. We don't need the fundage.
That being said, I would like to direct to everyone a really great deal being offered through Amazon.com.
For those of you that haven't yet purchased the first season of BtVS or ANGEL, you can purchase them through Amazon.com for 14.99 apiece! ! ! That's just a wonderful savings! The first season of Buffy was already fairly cheap, but it's a great deal for Angel. You save something like about 25-45 dollars depending on where you would buy it. Shipping is only 2.98 for a grand total of 17.97!
I discovered this deal by going to one of our best new Pal Sites: The Council of Watchers (http://www.protej.com/buffy/). Their webmaster, Johnny, does one of thsoe Amazon sponsor deals where he makes a few cents or so off every sale that comes from his site. He uses these funds to pay for his website. Website space isn't cheap. And he, like us, has seen a lowering of traffic since Buffy and Angel left the airwaves. But, like us, he is still plugging away, trying to fire up interest in other shows like Veronica Mars and LOST. Again, website costs aren't cheap. Johnny, unlike us, who split our costs via our Council members, is footing his whole bill himself.
So, if you are thinking about ordering either first season DVD, you might take the time to go to Amazon.com through his website, which I linked to above for convenience.
It's a really good deal and you will be helping yet one more great Buffy site stay running.
Vlad, TA, tp
I would like to mention that, in no way, did Johnny ask for this plug. He has jsut been really friendly to our site by linking to our reviews, placing them alongside the likes of TV Tome and TV W/O Pity. I figured this was a nice gesture in return.

Hey S'cubies - somebody gave this to me due to some stuff that went on here at work, and probably many of you have seen it before, but I just put it up on the bulletin board above my desk, and want to share it. It is kind of shmoopy, and expresses thoughts that you have already shown you understand already, but it did my heart good - hence, the sharing and the posting here for safekeeping:
People are unreasonable, illogical, self-centered. Love them, anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good, anyway.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies. Be successful, anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good, anyway.
Honesty and frankness will make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank, anyway.
People will love underdogs but follow only top dogs. Follow some underdog, anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you try to help. Help people anyway.
If you give the world the best you have, you may get kicked in the teeth. But give the world the best you have, anyway.

Yep. I could do the song and dance and so on, but what it all really boils down to is the work itself. Either it's good or it's not. And boys and girls, this baby is SMOKIN' ! ;D I am pleased to announce WHITE RABBIT: A Day of Reflection by me Seriously, I like how it turned out and I hope you all do, too. Go take a gander and then please feel free to post in the Lost Discoveries thread. Alright...have at it while it's still warm. Vlad, TA, tp

I know, I know... whiling away a rainy Saturday afternoon...or perhaps waiting for the big game to start. Well, we've got a special treat for you! Yep, Sue has turned in her review of good ol' VM. Like any master craftsman, she knows it's more than jsut about content, it's in the presentation itself. So she let that anticipation build, she let you come up with your own perceptions, and now, she is going to add to that bubbling stew with her own seasonings! She takes a very interesting tack with this weeks review, holding up alongside other televison. Does it hold up? Will it? Find out what SHE thinks! THE WRATH OF CON: Is Veronica Mars Good Televison? by Sue can be found in the OPEN CASE: Veronica Mars area on the S'cubie website. And you didn't think you were gonna have any fun today? Hah! As always, remember to swing by the discussion thread on this here chit-chat board and let Sue know what you thought. It is always appreciated. Vlad, TA, tp

New pretties for fall and Halloween have been added to the Glamours page.
Many thanks to SHANNON for doing the work of finding all these great glamours and sending them to me this time. She saved me hours of work and I think we are all going to appreciate it.
Go grab some pumpkins and leaves to decorate your posts!
