Forgiveness doesn't just go in one direction.
Giles said: "To forgive is an act of compassion, Buffy. It's not done because people deserve it. It's done because they need it."
Sometimes, forgiveness isn't for the receiver but for the one offering it. Sometimes, a person just needs to forgive, whether or not it's accepted or even heard by anyone else.
And sometimes, a person just needs their own forgiveness.

Where there is hatred, love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

Where there is hatred, sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. Where there is hotness--enjoy!

The Buffyverse has really made this line resonate:
Yea though I walk in the shadow of the valley of death, I will fear no evil

It can be funny even after someone loses an eye.
I mean, the eye losing or other horrific thing can happen and there is still the possibility of joy and sadness and happiness and struggle and, well, life. Afterwards. That life is a mixture of the horrible and the sublime. Sometimes even at the same time.

Smoking and leather are sure signs of evil. Or, hotness. Whatever. ;D Smoking, leather, and eyeliner means evil but potentially soul-acquiring. And, let me add: Give the government a trillion dollars and what'll you get? Toasters that think. You can't judge a person by their name; see Faith, Harmony, Glory... Boots can be both stylish and affordable. Even the scariest thing can be killed by a correctly applied splinter. Father figures falter. Moms die. The right accessory could just save the world, but you might not like the price. "No, you don't" rarely satisfies as a response to a declaration of love. The geek you laugh at today might kill you tomorrow.

Depression can equal vulnerability can equal bad kissing desicions. Be careful.
Old friends who love you may not be the bad kissing decisions you think they are.

That the good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.
Not!
