What would I really like? Hmm. . .do I have to stay within the realm of a TV show?
Okay, enough of that. I have two answers: if the show is to end, see my posting above Re: Spike is human and Buffy retires.
BUT - if the character/show is to go on, then I want nothing to change. Human plus superpowers would make life too easy, and not nearly dramatic enough. Human without superpowers - too boring. (Sorry, Xander/Dawn). Vampire with no soul - been there, done that.
But the hair - let it go natural. Please.

Spring: I think that they could build up to Spike becoming human in some way that it would still make sense if you hadn't seen Angel. Not by giving out a warning about a prophecy, but making it make sense in some way. But people who do watch Angel would see the shashu reference. In fact, maybe it would be better because it would be more unexpected. I know that some people don't watch both shows, but I think it's a good idea to do so. I only started watching Angel because of Buffy, and I think it's a better experience to watch both. And it is possible that if buffy comes to an end, some characters will end up on Angel, and I know I'd want to know what was going on with them in case I wanted to follow them over. But probably there are a lot of people out there who aren't as willing to spend as much time doing unproductive things as I am... I don't know what I'm going to do if I end up going back to school.

Anything I want for Spike? Probably still has the superpowers but can go in the sun and age (I guess something like Connor). If I could, I would have Buffy stay around, not really because I really need to see Buffy stay around, but because otherwise, how could she and Spike be together? (I would be willing to see him have someone else, as long as he is happy, but he's been yearning after Buffy so long that I'm having trouble seeing him with anybody else now. Plus, this episode and last episode and their shippy moments, so cute!) I just don't know if a long distance relationship would work. I feel like it would lead too much to them getting over it, like with Buffy and Angel. I think I'd also enjoy Spike with Giles on Ripper, but only if it were actually shown in America. Although, I think I'd like to see Spike not be the second fiddle anymore. His story is so interesting, and I'm tired of hearing people whine about how much time it takes from the "main" characters. I've been trying to figure out a good faculty position for myself, but I'm having trouble figuring out what to get my degree in. (This happened with my real degree too).
I have an real life B.A. in Classics (that would be Latin and Greek literature, in my case), which would lead me towards Nosferoclassics, but to be honest, I don't know that much about Greek and Roman vampires. Or perhaps Nosferclassics refers more to the classical myths of vampires as unrelated to the Buffyverse. I'm really not sure.

The March 2003 issue of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer Magazine" will have an interview with James Marsters. The promo in the February issue says, "Spike speaks. It's safe to say the Spike returned to Season Seven a new man - but how has James Marsters dealt with the changes? Find out next issue!" Subscriptions hotline: 847-330-5549 or email BUFFSUBS@TITANEMAIL.COM
The March issue also will have info on Connor (Angel), set secrets, the mysterious world of slayers, and more interviews (with "Buffy nerds" and Kristine Sutherland).
For those who like Angel (David Boreanaz) the issue out this now (February issue) is devoted to the program "Angel" and especially David Boreanaz. Charisma Carpenter and "Lorne" (Andy Hallett) are interviewed also. This magazine is BIG on glossy pictures.

Alexandra asks: "If you could have *any* combination of traits (or others not yet seen) what would you design for Spike's character if there is a season 8? And don't forget the hair (grin)."
First, this reminds me, I meant to congratulate you, Alexandra, on your great money-saving idea of having a series with only ONE character (Spike), and no costumes. You're a genius. I'm not sure what kind of plot you could have, but who cares? But barring that idea, I only know this:
- I want Spike to keep going as a character, and ideally, I'd like him to be the main character, so no more worries about whether he'll have more than two minutes of screen time.
-I want him to regain his zest and snarkiness, which I think he can do without the true meaness he used to exhibit. And I'd like to see a bit of JM's joy and exuberance creep into Spike as well, now that he has his soul back.
-As far as romance goes, I'd be fine if he finds someone else besides Buffy, assuming Buffy is not around (which I think is safe to assume).
-I'd be happy with a watcher-like role for him. But he'd get more air time than Giles did, he'd do more active fighting, and he would show a lot more skin.
And I'm still going to be seriously steamed (!!) if M.E. uses that Shansu prophecy thing from Angel for a major development on BtVS, where it has never, ever, not even once been mentioned. Since there are only 10 episodes or so left, any introduction of such a major possibility would have to be really abrupt. I don't like it. Also, I want him to stay a vampire anyhow.
HAIR: Let it grow out and be natural. He'll look good, no matter what - might as well let JM's hair and scalp have a well-deserved rest. And besides, I like curly dark hair. I have to, or I'd get thrown out of my family.

For a good tale about Greek vampires read Ann Rice's "Pandora". Her "Queen of the Damned" and its Egyptian vampires frankly sucked (forgive the pun). However the movie was great B trash.
We have a linguistics and a history chair but a Chair in Nosferoclassics sounds like a good addition. You would have to lecture on Nosferatii of the Ancient World and Nosferoclassical Roots of Modern Vampire Culture. If you have a Greek or Latin word that sounds better with Nosfero- feel free to add it to the name in the place of "classics".
Attention Vlad, new faculty.

Where did Alexandra propose all all-naked Spike series? I want a refund on my Evelyn Wood Speed Reading Course! I thought I had firmly fixed the words Naked and Spike at the very forefront of my optic receptors.

I was hoping our Chair of Nosferolinguistics would be available soon to help us assemble a Glossary of Nosferolinguistic terms and their definitions before we lose them under the deluge of more recent posts. This would include popular usage which I will call Vlang.

I never said that phrase in so many words. Evelyn Wood didn't cheat you. I was much more subtle. I just proposed a Spike show with no costume budget. The difference is in the minds of the readers of my post (okay, in my mind too). But I didn't SAY naked Spike.
..........................
And Spring said, "...I don't know what kind of plot..." Omigosh!! I have to have a plot?? With Spike moving and no costume budget, I assumed a plotline would be superfluous.

Yippee! I'm back! Sorry about the delay folks, but that nasty worm took out my internet server. I spent all day and night trying to log back on. Finally this evening, in a mope, I watched the season one finale of buffy on DVD on the 'puter. After it was over I half-heatedly made one more attempt before I was going to resignedly shut the whole thing down and go mope on the couch. Well, guess what, it finally let me back on! *Looks pensive* I wonder if the slayer has some latent effect in the techno relam of cyber space. You don't ssuppose this "worm" is of otherealmsy dimensions after all? Anyway...
Of course, it seems that my delay only allowed the estrogen to climb back into hysterical levels. Spike in a toga? *chuckling* Why not stick him in a kilt and have done with it?? Oh, and that whole reason that vamps have this preference for black leather pants and jeans becasue the grease off their bike sprockets won't show was absolutely hilarious.

I apologize for getting back to you so late, Spring. But if you read my above posting about the worm, you'll see why.
I use the MS Office 97 Pro version of Word. Thus far I have never had any problem opening and using any Word document from later versions, so I assume that what you created will be fine. As far as acutal formatting, I don't really care. I have been using "Comic Sans MS" as a font on the webpage, but that is always subject to change. As far as font size goes, I think my standard writing font thus far (not titles and the like) has been 12, but then I dont always use Word to write my HTML. Sometimes I just do it on the fly in a text editor, especially the smaller pages. I think my HTML sizing for standard text is 3. Basically anything you give me, I should be able to process into the page. If you have a special interest as to a layout or format, we can get together and make sure it gets done right.
The page as it is now is merely a prototype. Due to the internet being down (at least for me), I really havent't had a chance to finalize the "look" with Alex yet. I am just getting the sections set up, showing some possibilities, copying some stuff I know should be there from the posts and ..well..*L* Creating a growing website is a never ending job. And by the time you get it "done" more or less, you think of a better way to approach it and change it again.
One of my major concerns is to keep the site as text based as possible. A few pics here and there... some buttons, and so on, but I want it to be as friendly to the low-end computer user as the high-end one. I personally hate sitting forever waiting on some fancy flash graphic (that usually sucks) to load up, when all I wanted to do was read something or look at a few pictures. The actual website itself is limited to 15 Mb, I believe, but that can be gotten around by starting a second site and interlinking.
><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><
Email: You can email it to:
scubiefan@yahoo.com
I think I would prefer this, as it will keep people from emailing important things to my regular email address and me having to sort it out after the fact. It jsut saves me time. If for some reason that email isn't functioning and you wnat to get something to me, then by all means send it to:
vladski@hotmail.com
A fair warning tho'. I check that email (the vladski one) maybe twice a day, tops of 3-4, but it is usually one of the first things I check when I log on. I don't use any warning system (ie. MSN messenger) to show that I get new mail (email spam drives me nuts!).
Right now, in dealing with the web site I'll be checking the scubie email fairly frequently whenever I am online (which, is quite often) Later , I imagine I'll be checking it less often, but as long as the site is a growing concern, I will check it at least as often as my regular email.
><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><
A final thought. This is a place to talk about Spike (and BTVS related things). I really do want to try to keep as much of this technical stuff off hte posting board here at ScoopMe as possible. So I would prefer if people tried to ask most of their questions in an email to:
scubiefan@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Vlad, TA, tp
