Moreover, the second and third numbers were 8 and 15--815 was both the castaway's flight number and the number of the safety deposit box Kate was so eager to get her hands on.

Well, as I noted on the "In Translation" thread someone translated the Korean on the t.v. screen when Hurley appeared: it said "Fortunate Winner, Los Angeles, California." Combine that with the title of the ep, and I figured the numbers he was looking at were worth paying attention to.
