I appreciate any feedback on this, negative or otherwise. This is my first attempt at a fanfic, and I'm going to take some time with Chapters 4 and 5 (those should be the last two, unless something radical happens to my plot while I'm writing it). 4 is going to be really tricky for me to pull off....at least to the point in which I'm somewhat satisfied with it. My compliments to Rusty, by the way. You set mood and atmosphere beautifully. I'm so busy trying to make my plot coherent and my dialogue at least partially realistic I forget to spend time with the things you do really well. I can't wait for your next chapter.

Robert has graced us with yet another chapter of Truth. In this 3rd chapter he answers several questions while raising even more. How true to the ME style. Thanks Rob. keep this pace up and we'll have top place you in the league of Stephen King for prolificacy. Spring Summers, meanwhile has provided us another inspiring analysis of a Buffy episode, this time "Lie to Me." Yet again, I am massively impressed. Both of these writer's works may be found at the Soulful Spike Society Website: www.geocities.com/scubiefan/ under Fanfictional! and Spikecentricity, respectively. Read on fellow S'cubies and a heartful thanks to both the writers. Vlad, TA, tp

It would be nice to see all the main characters get some more time other than the Slayer and her trainees. As much as Buffy has always been the focus, it's getting urgent for those of us who love other characters besides her. The clock is ticking, and it breaks my heart. We really haven't seen much of anything for Willow in a while either, though the preview I saw last week seems to indicate she's being showcased somewhat. If I were to guess I'd say this episode is going to be 1/3 Willow, 1/3 Spike and 1/3 everyone else, with Buffy all over it of course. You'd think Principal Wood's storyline will have to get attended to soon as well. I really want the last few eps to focus hard on the actors that made this show great and leave the supporting players behind. I love Andrew, Principal Wood, and a couple of the SIT's. I love Anya and Dawn as well. It's time, however, to bring it all back home...to the characters that made it go: Buffy, Spike, Willow, Xander and Giles. The last four, especially, deserve more than just supporting appearances in a climactic battle scene. I want to watch them say goodbye to each other....and by extension say goodbye to us.

I wholeheartedly agree that we need more time with our main characters.
Further, I just came from your fanfic. Good work with tricky dialogue! I can't help but feel for the Xandman though. *deep sigh* Can't wait for the next installment, although I am beginning to dread the conclusion. And to Spring, all I can say is: "Whoah!" I definitely need to rewatch that episode now.

Excellent analysis on "Lie to Me": short, pithy, and to the stake...I mean, point.
I too will have to rewatch the episode: I remember Buffy looking at Ford's body, but I didn't remember his rising as a vampire and her staking him.
The recurring undertone of media lies is something that, if I noticed it at all, seemed incidental, casual. It's central, and crucial, and meaningful, and you identify this central thread unerringly and document it splendidly.
More, more!

Thanks, Water Gal. It's nice to hear that you like it. Spring did make some interesting points, didn't she? It's funny how the most honest characters are the ones that get under people's skin the most. Spike's brutal honesty in an episode about good people lying to one another for seemingly good reasons is a fascinating concept.

Your name is capitalised now? You are no longer an imp? Hmmm, too bad. *smirk*
That is one mean happy dance you have going there! I have one of my own. *it's Buffy day, it's Angel day, it's Buffy day!* But I promise not to spill the Angel beans until you've all had a chance to see it tomorrow night. (Whatever would I do if I still lived in the Maritimes where Buffy airs on Monday! I would have to keep my mouth shut about Spike's Spikecentricities for a whole 26 hours! (24 h plus one hour for the show, plus Atlantic time is one hour ahead of Eastern! Good thing there were no new episodes when I was home for Christmas, it would have been tortuous. Boy am I glad I got a job in Ottawa.)

Rob, I'm glad we're both newbies at this otherwise I'd be totally intimidated. I just caught up with your 3rd chapter. I think you're doing great.

In many email systems you may design a "signature" for yourself that automatically posts at the end of your email. Most people put their names, addresses, title, email addresses, and phone numbers. Some people add an interesting quote at the end.
I would like to pick the Scubie brains for quotes from the series that would make good signature lines. The only one that leaps to my mind is, "I'm paralyzed with not caring very much." But that would (unfortunately) be inappropriate for a work signature quote. Help?

Here's a few I just found on some of the Spike Quote websites: "Is everyone here very stoned?" "Are you getting a word picture here?" "This is just...neat." "Don't patronize me."

I'd go with "Love's a funny thing." It's a universally accepted truth, and a Spike quote to boot.

is not from Spike, but from Tara. In the first episode of season 6, Bargaining Part 1, Giles is leaving for England and Tara hands him a little plastic monster finger puppet and says: "(We brought you) a monster. Kind of a Sunnydale souvenir, we thought. Grrrr. Argggh"
So I propose, quite simply, "Grrrrr. Argggh."
