*s* Poetry? did you say poetry? Well formally, I think it's supposed to pass under our dear (Bloody Awful)poet-in-residence Diane...but knowing her lackadaisical ways, she'd probably just tell ya to send it to scubiefan@yahoo.com, anyway. You know how them artsy fartsy types are. Probably off smoking one of them clove cigarettes, drinking a latte and playin' with her beret. *chuckling*
Seriously, send it to the above email addy and it will get posted. If you have any special posting instructions, send them along and they will be followed to the best of my ability. Also, if you want to do it as either an MS Word .doc or in HTML format, feel free and I'll try to post it as you have created it, or as close as possible.
I hope you submit!

What I REALLY should have found was a picture of Buffy & Riley kissing or worse... I cannot watch romantic scenes with those two. After seeing her with Angel and then later with Spike, THIS guy just always made me SICK.
I really can't quite put my finger on why that is; Riley really wasn't that bad a of person (and no, I don't mean to imply that all "good guys" are boring). Compared to all what Spike and Angelus had done, some might say he was a downright saint.
But I guess maybe it's the "bad-boy-gone-good-who-can-still-be-'bad'" thing that the two vamps had going for them. Did that even make sense? ;-)

Alex mentioned to me in passing a few days ago (and I am sorry for just now getting around to this, Alex, but my life's been topsy turvey for the last couple) and I meant to submit it to the group.
She suggested a "Spike Quotes" area on the site. I think its a terrific idea. Either email in your quotes (hopefully with a source like what ep and what season) or post them with "Quote" mentioned prominently in the Subject area, so I will be sure to see it. I am still avoiding spoilers til the tape of First Date arrives, so if the post looks suspicious, I will avoid it. Sorry about any inconvenience that causes.
Your friendly neighborhood Technopagan,
Vlad

Mind you, I dont want to know if it's been answered yet, in First Date, but I would like to ask Giles what the hell happened in Robsen's apt/house, basically with an indepth explanation of how he avoided that axe (if he did, in fact). If it is answered in First Date, I don't want to know from you guys!, but its the most pressing question in my mind (especially since I get the feeling that FD answers questions about Principal Woods from the post titles I saw, which would be my second major question placed to him. Who are you and why are you here?!)

Well, hey - what was the former profession of our favorite Big Bad bloodsucker and "Fool for Love", "Love's Bitch"?
We "easy" poets may not always wear a pricelist on our shirts, but we always wear our hearts on our sleeves, y'know. ;-)

Spring, I responded in Part 2, Post 77, Your question and my reply:
YOU: ::I am thinking of praying for an early menopause, in the hope that they stop being so irresistibly attractive. ::
ME: ::It doesn't work.::

Josh, check out PBS, BBC America and A&E. Lots of lovely British ladies. Also hit the video store for tapes of THE AVENGERS and enjoy Diana Rigg in her prime!
(My Dad had a crush on her so bad that my mother went out and bought a catsuit!)

Alexandra - with the "move your hands and hold still" comment I was referring to that "defense against ebulgence" picture and discussion - so yeah, I was thinking about my research (as always).

Vlad the techie is a lucky boy
Playing with his virtual toy.
Thinks the poet lackadaisy,
lyng 'round comfy, lazy.
Knows he not that poetry's muse
Flees from those who do not use?
Neither cigarette nor latte I.
No time either to fritter by.
But still to welcome another Rhymer?
Send Vlad the poem, don't waste my time-er.

I got to thinking about why I've avoided buying James' CD - and I don't think it is so much that I don't want to know that much about him.
I think it is more that I prefer a fantasy guy not to have problems I have to hear about. I don't want to listen; I don't want to be someone he shares his pain with, even from such a distance.
For various reasons, I end up playing listening ear and counselor to a lot of people. And I am not very good at maintaining distance and objectivity and not "feeling your pain." So I think that's it - I feel like if I buy that CD, I'll be adding James to that list.
But I don't want to feel his pain - just his body. Wow. Am I shallow, or what?

Yeah, Spring, you might be shallow at at that.
Then again, maybe you just dont want to have your fantasy guy spilling over with all the same problems you deal with from everyone else. After all, what's the point of a fantasy that doesn't allow you some escape? Isn't that the point of a fantasy in the first place?

Spring said: "RUSTY - interesting about his CD being uncomfortable to listen to. I did read somewhere that he wrote and sang songs in it about the pain of a break-up he'd been through, and it actually sort of put me off. I haven't purchased it - I'm not sure why. It's almost like I don't really want to know that much about him."
What CD? Are you talking about Ghost of the Robot or something else?
