OK, so we had Duncan and Meg dressed up as Duckie and Andy from "Pretty in Pink." Now, my question is, I know that Logan was dressed up as Tom Cruise's character from "Risky Business," but since I've never seen that whole movie...is Veronica supposed to be dressed up as Rebecca de Mornay's character? If so, what kind of parallel do you think they are drawing between Logan adn Veronica. And if not, who is she dressed up as?

Oh man...I never thought I'd say this back in September, but poor Logan. Nobody is watching out for that boy, and he keeps putting up this front of sarcasm. When he collapsed against Veronica, it just broke my heart. He was sincere... and do you think that maybe .. when Veronica told him in the hall that she understood, that he "got it?" I think we may have witnesseda big turning point for Logan tonight. Also notice hwo he didn't really fight off Veronica's assistance while he was tanked up. Vlad

Whippersnappers these days! 2nd: Maybe Annie Potts character in PiP? The older gal that gets hot for Duckie at the end? Vlad

That was kind of what I was getting, too. Huh. Gonna have to rewind the tape and check out the Duckie and Andy stuff, though..

Vlad Holy crap, I think you're right.. wow. I was just too wig-flipped over seeing her in something hanging in my closet to think about the ensemble as a whole.

But then I've never actualy seen "Risky Business" although the number of parodies I've seen it's probably pointless for me to even try, now. Julia, Sam and I thought Duncan was dressed up like somebody in a music video?

"Sugarpuss" On the phone with my friend Cat watching the show, and she said at the charge "Sounds like the "Executive Suite" at the Hilton I worked at." Good guess.. The florist is a true artist, and a little cognitive dissonance inducing.. "High-School-Kid-look" "Catahoula Leopard Dog?" Oooh!! Keith is being investigated himself!!! By the way, Catahoula's are big-spread cow dogs and are one of the worst house pets imaginable. Julia, aggressive, hyperactive, and easily bored. Oh- the dogs, too.

**snicker, but then feel kind of bad for snickering, over the jock sniffer thing** Totally BFF! ;D I liked how Wallace said something to Veronica about always asking him to do stuff for her - not mean or snotty, but just saying it - that next time they hang out, they should just hang out. Also liked the smile she gave him - she saw his point and respected him. Plus, Wallace is lookin' real sharp with the new hair and the little mustace thing going. Mmmmmm. I mean, I loved his long hair too. (I'm a big sucker for a 'fro.) But he looks . . . older and more . . . . mmmmmm. Lola Um. Didn't really mean to highjack your post to wax all mooney over Wallace. Army veterans from WW1 and 2 talked about Paris Whores; in general Navy veterans reference Manila in the same context. Neptune is close to San Diego, yes? Biggest Navy base on the west coast, and the slang is pervasive. Julia, not something I heard from my FIL, who was a Naval Chaplain, but absolutely from my Navy uncles

Aaaannnnd, my last post was in response to Patti asking about "Manila Whore" but I got Lola instead.
I think I need to go to bed now, this is all too complicated for me.
Julia, grasping at tiny details because I can't deal with the Logan/Trina interaction, too sad, and pretty sure it's going to get sadder

Oh- the dogs, too. *Snerk* I just seem to enjoy saying it.. much like Yola, it seems. "Catahoula Leopard Dog! Catahoula Leopard Dog! Catahoula Leopard Dog!" Actually, I think I just like saying "Catahoula" and the "Leopard Dog" part just serves to break it up a little bit so one does not get overly Catahoulaed. "Catahoula Catahoula Catahoula Cathaowlwooowie. " Yep. Needs the spacing out, or you wind up in a tongue wreck.

I had a very strong anathemic (is that a word?) reaction to the character: Even if she came to pick him up when his house was called about him being D & D, I was thinking "Don't do me any freakin' favors" during that scene. But AH DOES play a vicious bitch so very well.

Hi all!
Eeetah with everyone about Logan's heartbreak.
About AH's Trina: I sensed that her coping mechanism was pretty similar to Logan's. As in lash out and maintain a mostly nasty shell. Her relationship with Logan isn't in very good shape, but perhaps that can change in time.
And as has been previously mentioned: at the dance, drunken Logan didn't push Veronica away despite his usual combative MO. Nor did he seem to push Trina away when she came to pick him up, despite some of the things that were said.
I would actually be more worried about Trina's character if she had come across as sincere and caring -- 'cause isn't that Daddy Echoll's public MO?
Linda, holding onto hope for a core of decency in Trina's character
