Hey guys. Page 4 was formatted really weirdly, so I went into a couple of posts to fix it. I made no changes to the text.
Just wanted to let you know in case you were wondering why some posts say: edited by Queen E.

Haven't read the thread yet and don't have time to post my full impressions of last nite's episode. But, WOW!!!!
For now I'm just going to say that last nite it didn't take long to see that the show really missed having Mac around, the interaction with V is always priceless.

Before I read anyone else’s comments, my more or less befuddled thoughts (I was able to sleep for about three hours last night, then had a hellish day at work):
What, Veronica’s actually is going to talk to Logan? I honestly thought that would be kind of too much to hope for… The start doesn’t look promising… I mean, she’s her old snarky self. She thinks she wants to say something but isn’t able to do it go through with it in the end. And that is just sad.
It actually IS Logan who breaks up with her. Don’t get me wrong: I wanted it to be him. Not that I wanted them to break up but if and when they were going to break up, I wanted it to be him rather than Veronica just running away once more. Maybe he’ll get through to her that way. Make her realize that she shouldn’t take him for granted, make her realize that he’s just… needs to get something back from her, too.
But it is still so sad. Heartbreaking. I was bawling my eyes out four minutes into the episode. I think I mostly have JD to thank for that though. His voice. The pained smile (he always speaks that way and smiles that way when the situation is so tragic that he can’t make any sense out of it), the entire scene starting with the tone of his voice when he says hey through the end… it all just screams that he doesn’t want to do it but he has to and the bittersweet “But you never need anything”.
Kristen Bell. She could have been a bit more… shown a bit more vulnerability but we are going to see plenty of that later so I am fine with it.
The food court scene. Well. MAC. God. I didn’t even realize how much I missed Mac. She is never allowed to go away again.
“We are done with this topic. I just shared some info. Moving on”. Right. The patented Veronica response. I do think though that they managed to find the correct balance between not having her mope around the whole episode but also at the same time conveying the feeling that she needs and even a little bit wants to talk about the break up.
Is the shower scene supposed to remind us of the scene in A Trip to the Dentist? I mean, the shades, the colors are kind of similar. That and a few other things and/or scenes: the Pi Sig scene with Dick and Bonnie, the whole going back and forth in time… That’d be the spit part of the episode title, the reminders?
Eggs throwing. Whew. The campus feminists certainly do not respect the authorities. These people are “acting without thinking” types if I ever saw one. Sure, it certainly is more dramatic to make them act this way but I wonder if it’s a good idea to have them written this way.
Fast cars. Loose sluts? Electronic gadgetry? Televised sports? Pornography? Nice marketing speech, Veronica.
And Piz makes with the faces again.
I am glad the Mac scene follows this scene because she totally wins. “Hump the furniture, party back to the Stone Age. Will they let me in, I think all the glitter’s come off my porn star tube top”. Mac’s still Mac.
Parties are always good for some drink tossing and cracks about Petri dishes and protection and leaving your friend passed out on the lawn (all you gonna do is to call the Safe Ride Home people? Yeah, the bonds of true friendship). Hands? Hee. Yeah, true party music for the college people. This does certainly feel like a real college thing. Piz and the cape crusader act? That was actually sort of funny (Oh my god. I’ve turned into a teenager again).
Damn you, Veronica and Logan. They so had a moment. The sort of “I don’t see nor hear nor care to see or hear anyone else right now” moment. Of course, it last for about two seconds and then it is all about the investigation again. If this is the way they are going to drop hints that this all is going to turn out okay again for Logan and Veronica in the end, I like it.
I almost have no words for the last few scenes. It was such a rush of adrenaline. Mercer. Unicorns. The creepiness. The action and the sort of slow moments/scenes in between. Veronica locked in a room. For a moment, I was actually afraid Veronica was going to fall through the window.
Parker was just the right person to come to the rescue.
Logan smashed the windshield of the police car so he could get in prison and… I don’t know… extract some justice on Mercer? I kind of love how he just sort of casually walks by the window and takes a swing at the glass.
A few other things:
The dean never left the office? We don’t actually see him get out of the door with the gun?
I didn’t think about it before but Piz and Mac could be a perfect couple. Of course, I have a sick imagination and I have sometimes even thought that Mac and Dick could hit it off (or at least flirt with each other for a scene or two) so what do I know.
Still waiting for some development on the Keith-Veronica relationship. This episode was a step in the right direction (last week I was a bit miffed after the “You might want to stop yelling at my daughter” scene because honestly, I felt it was a little dated… or recycled. I don’t know, I can’t think of the right word. I am still a bit disappointed that the daughter-father trust issues of Donut Run have not been touched upon – as much fun as the Keith-Veronica scenes are to watch as separate scenes).
I really liked the episode. Emotional? Definitely. Controversial? Uh huh, but mostly because it was about people we know and care about. I can’t praise Mac enough; it’s clear the show really missed her. This episode left me all excited for the new episodes after the hiatus so I guess it did the trick.

The food court scene. Well. MAC. God. I didn’t even realize how much I missed Mac. She is never allowed to go away again. A big freakin' EEEE TAH to that! The dean went to the hotel (presumably armed witha revolver from his deask) and caught his wife and the Prof together. He invited himself in and then the scene changed (or went to commercial.) We don't see him again until he wakes up in his office on the couch due to his window being egged. He gets up and confronts a shadowy figure in a ball cap. From his tone in saying "What are you doing here?" I think we are supposed to assume that he knows his visitor, but I could be mistaken. The scene ends. The next time we see the Dean he is dead, a bullet hole in his temple when Eli finds him slumped over his desk. Suicide? Murder? Welcome to the next story arc! Dick? Oh god, no! But Piz.. I could see him working out with Mac!! I like the guy, actually quite a bit! But he is not right for Veronica. She needs a bit more darkness in her man... much like Buffy wasn't right with Riley. And finally, it is REALLY nice to see you Reeta! Vlad

You know, I've seen quite bit of speculation about Mac/Dick. Discuss?

You know, I've seen quite bit of speculation about Mac/Dick. Discuss? Well, the shipper name is hi-larious. MacDick. ;D **slides back to the 12 year old corner** This episode rawked, btw. Logan/JD broke my heart into a million pieces, but I'm glad he broke up with her. I thought I was going to puke during the Veronica-in-danger scenes--very well done. I want to be Mac when I grow up. And I agree with Vlad about Logan's actions, for what it's worth.

You know, I've seen quite bit of speculation about Mac/Dick. Discuss? Dick is Cassidy's brother. I do not think Mac would go near him with a ten foot pole.

You know, I've seen quite bit of speculation about Mac/Dick. Discuss? I read a fairly plausible fic that paired Mac/Dick (I rec'ed it before, too) called Ghost World. Just sayin'. But yeah, I could see Piz and Mac pairing up.

Part I (snipped) It's unexpected? Don't pull a Buffy on me, Veronica. While I was watching, I couldn't stop feeling that she had. I kept getting "Into the Woods" vibes most of the time. The ultimatum, the breakup, the crying afterward. Please, Rob T, Logan is NOT the Riley of VM. leftylady

random notes:
For those who vote for MacPiz, I'm with you. I started playing matchmaker for that 'ship as soon as I heard Piz might be set up with Veronica. (Same way I always felt Faith and Wood were a better pair than the clumsy Buffy/Wood date.)
I like the idea that the Dean's murder might be connected to the Perfect Murder assignment. Could have a lot of clever twists.

Bravo Fotada - another great job. I enjoyed reading your review. I've read so much about this episode and made so many comments everywhere that I don't think I have anything coherent to add other than bravo.

Great review, Fotada. I hadn't thought of Tim's outburst as another mystery. Interesting. I also hadn't considered whether Landry and the sorority house mistress had a connection.
