Hi, S'cubies! I finally made it to the board today. Oh, boy! Mac is getting a new cutie-pie boyfriend (I hope)! He really is just too cute and nice for words, isn't he? I'm still snickering over "Vegan JFK looking for his Mac-ie O". Hee - nice storyline for Mac and well-played from the pullback to the attack kiss. Bronson is a little too cutieboy for my tastes but I'm happy Mac is back in the game. Awwww. And of course it was the sister. Isn't it always?

Well I don't fault Logan for being with someone else - they were broken up and Logan sure didn't look like he enjoyed that blowjob very much but I have a feeling he's going to try and hide it. And that will trigger the veronicater and angst and bring on the Piz. Sigh! Still - this was done well. This is how people do act during a breakup. Unhappy, trying to hook up, reconciling. Very well done. Oh, I don't blame Logan either. They were broken up. She was out there "looking" - not very happily - because a friend was urging her to. He was out there "looking" - not very happily - because a friend was urging him to. He got some and she didn't, but that's about the only difference. Well, and that in the end, Veronica was the one who came to Logan to get back together . . . . And heck. Promos can be liars. The angst next week might end up coming from a totally different source than Beach!Girl. With you there. I'm not necessarily buying into the obvious explanation. In fact, I have my fingers crossed that it's a mislead.

I'm with you, actually. For my part, I'm not opposed to a VIZ pairing (is that what the hip kids are calling it?). God forbid Veronica becomes attracted to a decent-looking, less complicated guy...at least for the time being. Having said that, I'm not exactly in favor of VIZ either; I'm just looking for something interesting. The tempestuous, weeks-on, weeks-off relationship might be realistic for many 18-19 year old couples, but from a storytelling standpoint I find it wearisome. If Rob Thomas wants to break them up, just do that and stick with it for a while. Too many breakups and reconciliations will render the big relationship moments meaningless. I found Mac's budding relationship far more interesting because it was new and different. This can be done a lot more often, IMO...because Rob Thomas has created a universe with several interesting and likable characters. He'd do well to take a bit of the load away from Veronica and focus more on the ensemble. P.S. Hey, lookee here! I managed to get all the way through this post without expressing my extreme annoyance that every supporting character had things to do except Wallace. I'm a team player. Well - I'm against it, even though I know it's probably coming. Still - Rob wants Logan and Veronica to be up, down, up, down. He thinks that's the way the relationship should be so it's not poor Logan's fault. Hee! I'm against the Viz but I had no problems with the show last night. Everything flowed smoothly, in fact, I loved the episode. Well done, recalling season 1 themes of animal recovery, funny, angsty and stepping into the Dean mystery. I thought Mac and Parker were terrific. Loved each of them, and honestly enjoyed every moment of it. Agreed. I thought it was quite solid. And followed on a great GG. Good night of TV! (Can I say how incredibly thankful I am that the CW decided to stick with VM instead of GB's speech without it being a political comment?) With the exception of no Wallace. (Just because Rob is restraining his inner Wallace doesn't mean I have to.) But honestly, I'd rather have a supporting player have a real role like Mac did last night than just writing them in for a few lines. So hoping for serious Wallace down the line and later maybe serious Weevil. Possibly a drawback of a show which has extremely strong core characters, plus a great supporting ensemble. Wondering if some of the draw of shows like Prison Break or Supernatural is that the 2 main characters are IT (don't watch them so I really have no clue what I'm talking about).

whomever guessed veronica's paper was the basis for the murder was right! Yeah, who was that smarty pants? I remember someone here suggested that idea, but I don't remember who . . . . It does make the professor a suspect, but I'm rooting for his TA. Mainly because I wanted the TA to be guilty in the previous mystery and want to be right, even in a delayed manner. I really enjoyed the scene at the bar with Keith and Landry. Nicely done, nice set up and snap. Hee! Honestly, I don't see how it can be Landry or Lucky Tim. They seem so obvious. As does wifey. But then no one really excites me for this mystery at this point. I did like the way they eased into it and nice, nice, nice having it be declared a suicide.

[Oh, and, I'm still sorry that there has never been any follow-up on the story of Meg's abused little sister.]

Slighty off-topic, but I figured she'd be more likely to see it here, than on the main thread:

A pretty solid, entertaining ep. I laughed so hard when Dick snapped a picture of his privates, my cat, who had been sitting next to me, flew off the couch. Hee!
I liked the way the explored the benefits and risks of reaching out to others and getting into relationships: Veronica and Logan trying to recover after their breakup; Mac opening herself to Bronson after being hurt by Cassidy; Piz trying to send out feelers to Veronica, and the guy Veronica was talking to at the party who was still hung up on his ex. Even the lab assistant who grew attached to Oscar the monkey illustrated the risks of letting emotions rule our actions, for better or worse. He saved Oscar from being killed, but that didn't stop the lead scientist from ordering another monkey. Science marches on, I think he said.
Wasn't Bronson's last name Pope? Maybe he's related to Mr. Pope, of FBLA fame? That would be neat--I liked him a lot.

i agree that there just doesn't seem to be any chemistry at all between piz and veronica. to me the situation reads like unrequited love. to me it would make more sense to pair veronica up with someone totally new than with him. Slighty off-topic, but I figured she'd be more likely to see it here, than on the main thread: Congrats to artemis on 400 posts! thank you! (and yes, you're right! i try to read this board, heroes, and bg regularly but i only read the main board when i have extra time.)

Yup, they were on a break... And Beach Girl wins the "Most Appalling Things Said Afterwards" award. Poor Logan.

I'm not even upset at Piz (who I continue to dislike no matter how many hurt puppy faces he pulls). Because everyone was reacting the way people do react after being hurt or breaking up. Veronica was reaching out - she didn't hook up like Logan did but she was there, at least physically. I kind of doubt that she was all that into the guys at the round the world party mentally. I think the thing that bothers me the most about all the commentary I'm reading is the way that everyone seems to think Logan should be completely ruled out as the bf because he was with someone while they were broken up. Logan has ALWAYS been sexual. If anything he's acting way, way undersexed right now. I don't blame him for what happened. But every review I've read seems to think yes, Veronica should now be with Piz. So not seeing it. I'm going to stay on the Logan and Veronica Epic love train no matter what happens because Veronica was so likable this episode. She felt again like a Veronica I could pull for. Whereas I was completely pulling for Logan to meet someone else in the fall arc. Hee - so fickle.

(disclaimer: not, of course, condoning one night stands no matter what the sitch but still): Sex is Logan's "drug of choice." Some people drink, some do drugs, some overcaffinate, some throw themselves into work, some spend endless hours on the internet, some shop. Of course, none of those activities is inherently bad when done in moderation, right motivation, yada yada. But when Logan is hurting.....he chooses sex to try to mask the hurt, avoid, deny, just feel better for the moment. Of course the "hangover" (each addiction mentioned above has it's own unique hangover repercussions) just intensifies the hurt and you spiral into a vicious cycle. And in this particular case when Logan is hit with "Aaron Echolls' son" the knife is twisted all the more in his gut. Logan knows that the sex isn't going to make his life any better---he's just using it to make the pain go away, however briefly. I don't approve but rationally V shouldn't hold it any more against him than going on a huge bender. But that's why sex is worse---it's not just physical like drinking---it involves another human being and an additional emotional pain component to everyone involved no matter how much they may try to deny it.

Unfair, but true. Vlad

Unfair, but true. Vlad For what it's worth, I don't think he's very cute, either. I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm repulsed by him, but when Veronica referred to him as a JFK type, I thought, "Really?" He might be just what Mac needs right now though--he's got a pleasant, easy-going personality, and I think that he'll be sensitive about her issues with men. Of course, this is noir, so it's more likely he'll tear her heart out and stomp on it, but that remains to be seen.
