Veronica is hired to track down a girl (guest star Brianne Davis, "Entourage") with whom Max (guest star Adam Rose, "Malcolm in the Middle") shared an incredible one-night stand.
Meanwhile, Keith takes a closer look at Dean O'Dell's suicide and begins searching for clues that may point to a murder.

Nice opener Fotada. I am posting here because I'm curious to see if it will show up on the main page, as the latest post on the thread. I'm concerned because the thread shows Shan's post as the latest . . . so I came here to make this thread, then saw you had already made it.
We need the latest post to show, so people know activity is going on, on the thread. . .well, let's see what happens.
ETA: Looks good!

We need the latest post to show, so people know activity is going on, on the thread. . .well, let's see what happens. ETA: Looks good! Spring-- I think that happened because I saw Fotada had created the thread but apparently the PTB haven't yet given her actual moderator powers and she wasn't able to sticky the thread at the top. So I presumptively stepped in and bumped it to the top and then stickied it. But then I wasn't sure if the Review thread should stay at the top so I bumped it up over this thread and that's (I think) what created the confusion on the front page. And, presumably it will happen each week so probably better not to leap-frog the Review thread back to the top until either after posting slows down or even wait until the end of the season. Am I being clear? Besides which I think Fotada has asked one of the TPs to grant her moderator power here so I'll probably butt out in the future. Sue

Huh. Earlier this season Veronica didn't know what "frak" was, and now she's referencing Six and Cylons? That's... interesting.

"I'm going to go kill my friends now, so if you could leave me a bill..."
Thousand-dollar hooker? Wow.
a hooker search engine?
"Thar she blows!"
"How very "weird science""
"amuse me now!"
"That needs work"
"I'm meeting a couple of hookers over at Logan's"
I'm rather scared that one of these hookers had done an off-duty recreational.
"I guess we don't have to, now"
Shut your mouth, Logan, for your own good.
No, you should be nervous, Logan.
"Well, if we're paying her, anyway" "honey" "this is just wasteful" heee
oh! so sweet, and so so doomed.

Or another prostitute? Oh, Madison.
What the HELL was that all about?
"physical embodiment of all things I loathe"

No True Romance references thus far, though?
So he's just... sitting there.
"For what it's worth, I'm gonna rub salt into your wounds"
So it WAS a con. Makeup.
"And now we must crush her"
Don't screw her over: just get the money back.
DON'T blackmail a judge. Jesus.
Veronica, you are a freaking IDIOT.
"hooker? Who cares?" my tuchus.
I thought that the R.A. did that rape.
"So there. Presto. Intimacy."
She's smiling.. wow.
So we get to see sheriff lamb again?
"Wendy gets hurt"?

So maybe it was a con on the part of Wendy's "friend" only?
"she asked out"
"you're a hell of a negotiater, don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
Ten grand for a manumission. Pretty good rate, really.
Wow. She's for real. I will be god-darned.
Hopefully Dude will be able to deal with that kind of thing. It will happen a few times.
Oh, god, this is a little, disturbing... and shit, no, you assholes, don't be propositioning her for working-girl work. Oh, don't ask it...
say it was, lie to him, darn.
Well, at least she's free, even if she's sort of destroyed.
"bought her out of prostitution and she left you?" Well, he manumitted her, he didn't buy her.
Oh, no. Poor girl. Stripping again.
"hooked up in Aspen"?
I don't believe it...
"sorry it happened" oh crap.
OH CRAP

So - this is like . . . the other side of the ep "Of Vice and Men". (Where the guy was missing and his girlfriend was convinced he was in trouble and Veronica thought he was having a fling. But the girlfriend was right and he was a good guy.)
Only instead of the love story working out once we all find out that the bad things we were thinking weren't true, it doesn't work. No one can forget her past, no one in Neptune is going to look at her without thinking of her as a hooker. So "true love" ends up withering away.
And just like that ep, we're supposed to compare this to Veronica and Logan. V being all "we need to tell each other everything" and Logan not wanting to say all, or frankly, to hear all.
What I find interesting is that Logan is being a classic romantic and Veronica, we all know, is a classic cynic. Well, she probably thinks she's a realist, but I tend to think she's really a cynic. Because I've always thought that a cynic is a romantic who's been disappointed. That's different from a realist. A realist wasn't ever looking for the rose-colored world, so they're not as harsh when the world is less that perfect.
