Huh. Earlier this season Veronica didn't know what "frak" was, and now she's referencing Six and Cylons? That's... interesting. Closet geek. Totally. Plus, she knew when it was time to switch from "Comic-Con: people in costumes" to "Comic-Con: it sounds cooler now". Hell. Just knowing what Comic-Con is, is enough to out you, Veronica Mars! ;D

hee! Comiccon! Such a BSG geek. Hee! American Beauty reference. Excellent American Beauty reference. And actually quite a flattering comparison for the guy. Well, at least in my book. His roomates were just so . . . clueless! OMG, I could have just smacked them! Amazing what some folks honestly think is a good, kind thing to do. But it gave us excellent Veronica snark, so I'm happy. ;D The whole scene where she's looking at the website? Too. Perfect. "Thar she blows." "A zagats guide to hookers." "Is there a reality experience? When she reminds the guy she's only there because he's paying?"

Huh. Earlier this season Veronica didn't know what "frak" was, and now she's referencing Six and Cylons? That's... interesting. Hey, she's watching BSG religiously like we are? Hell, she's probably already solved the mystery of the final 5. ;D

"I'm going to go kill my friends now, so if you could leave me a bill..." Thousand-dollar hooker? Wow. a hooker search engine? "Thar she blows!" "How very "weird science"" "amuse me now!" "That needs work" "I'm meeting a couple of hookers over at Logan's" I'm rather scared that one of these hookers had done an off-duty recreational. "I guess we don't have to, now" Shut your mouth, Logan, for your own good. No, you should be nervous, Logan. "Well, if we're paying her, anyway" "honey" "this is just wasteful" heee oh! so sweet, and so so doomed. Very funny and also nice moments with V and Keith tonight. I loved the witty banter. (How can you not love the "amuse me" bit and my personal favorite "Thrust your pelvis toward the bachlorette, it's her special day." ;D) But I also loved that along with the banter we got to see Keith being a bit discouraged and Veronica asking about him and then giving him encouragement. They're still working their way back to how comfortable they were before Veronica got so angry with him over the affair and his anger over the way she put herself in danger. But they're getting better. Which makes me happy.

so we've covered Poughkeepsie, and the tramps. Who's gonna be stealing? aw! geek and hooker on the couch. What is the popcorn,, oh, they're watching a movie. "refill? or a room?" oh my, I'm starting to get nauseated. Is she running a long con on him? That's exactly what I was thinking! And then the moment they confirmed my suspicions, I changed my mind again and thought it was gonna turn out that Wendy was actually nice. I think I'm getting better at spotting the VM double-double-double plot twist. ;D Dude!! Brainshare! That was my exact reaction to Madison's first appearance too. I was all WTF - they wouldn't just have her show up like that without something else going on, and boy howdy, yes indeed. So the promo from last week was a fake out like we thought, but the problem is going to turn out to be due to another woman. Just not beach woman. Well, or so we're being led to believe . . . Lamb rockin' out to his tunes, while Keith pulled up next to him in his sherrif outfit? I'm still wondering if Wendy was in on the con with the fake beat up girl or if she was fooled along with Max and Veronica . . .

No True Romance references thus far, though? So he's just... sitting there. "For what it's worth, I'm gonna rub salt into your wounds" So it WAS a con. Makeup. "And now we must crush her" Don't screw her over: just get the money back. DON'T blackmail a judge. Jesus. When Logan is attempting to be the voice of reason? You've gone over the edge. And when the client doesn't really want you to do this thing? Well, then you're doing it for you, not for him. The whole "we must crush her" made me think that Veronica was feeling all angry and embarassed that she got fooled. Not just Max. So of course we knew it was destined to go all to hell after that. ;D Oy. Totally!!!

Okay. Blackmail a judge and get, what, the pimp? Who else would know enough to threaten Wendy? I loved the pimp agent's thug Happy. "I don't think that this is street legal." ;D

So maybe it was a con on the part of Wendy's "friend" only? "she asked out" "you're a hell of a negotiater, don't let anyone tell you otherwise." Ten grand for a manumission. Pretty good rate, really. Wow. She's for real. I will be god-darned. Hopefully Dude will be able to deal with that kind of thing. It will happen a few times. The very first instance, I was thinking, girl - Neptune is too small a town. You're never gonna get away from this kinda thing. Dumbest. Roomates. Ever. Given up on trying for another life and will probably end up back where she was. Oh, yeah. Angst. Angst. Angst.

Because I'm too behind I'm reposting my LJ thoughts and then I'm going to try and backtrack through the thread if time allows:
"Poughkeepsie, Tramps and Thieves" which gives me a giggle cause I can just see Cher slinking through Hearst college singing this as the tale unfolds. Plus you know every night the men would come around and lay the money down does pretty much fit. And we do have trampy Madison along with the more obvious trampettes. And they even monkeyed up a promo to fit the the 3 months later I'm a gal in trouble line. Though I'm willing to bet good money that Veronica isn't pregnant because I simply can't imagnie the show going there. Undercover op most likely seeing the theme of next week's mystery. Still nice title.
Moving on to the episode itself, I liked it. Not as much as Show me the Monkey but it felt like a Veronica episode. Wait I need to qualify that: A Veronica episode with a strangely over the top Keith (He sings, he does jazz hands) and weird father/daughter interactions (now with pelvic thrusts). So a VM episode with again, a very likable Veronica, a less mopey Logan, a wonderfully charismatic guest star and more clues strewn along the Dean O'Dell pathway.
Was Mindy at the office so Nish could egg her Volvo? Was Nish up to something besides egging? Did Mercer pull some more of his Mexico Magic and zip out of jail to whack the Dean? (okay I'm not serious but why oh why were we given a Mercer moment?)
Things I liked: Logan and Veronica sharing an intimate moment. Cuddling. Hot, Hot Logan.
Logan told her about Madison. He didn't name her but to me it was pretty obvious that was who he was referring to. He didn't lie. (please excuse me while I do my yes, yes, yes dance. I was fully expecting a Logan lie so Veronica could righteously cast that bad boy to the ground as Sir Piz scooped her up on his white horse and they galloped off into the distance. But they didn't do that. Thank you, thank you, thank you).
A guest star that already existed in the Marsverse portraying a layered character, strong acting nuances that helped me care and understand every moment. His pain as he read the breakup letter touched me. I cared.
Lamb/Keith interaction. Always gold.
Things I disliked:
Weevil coming off as a downtrodden member of the masses. Give that boy back his mojo. Where is the danger? The hint of violence? He tied Thumper up in a stadium people and let him go boom. This man is no puppy.
No ripping off of clothes or undercover humping, lips traveling down bodies, limbs intertwining. I mean what is it? Does KB have a clause in her contract prohibiting passion with Dohring? Why do we never get the passion? I love the cuddling, the kissing but I want more.
Veronica playing the idiot and getting into a strange limo. Come on guys, no one would do this.
Madison and her freaky hair. What happened? Fight with your hair stylist?

Plus - do people really say and do pelvis thrusting with their dad? I just felt like the writers were going too hard for the funny. I want the smaller, intimate moments between Keith and Veronica. I mean, yes there was a funny and I'm always a fan of jazz hands but seriously? That scene felt like Enrico and Kristen playing a scene not Veronica and Keith. But I expect to be in the minority here about this. Just my impression.

I was kinda embarrassed for the Kristen and Enrico when she did the pelvic thrust. Man, I can't imagine one of my boys doing that to me. I'd smack 'em one.

Because I'm too behind I'm reposting my LJ thoughts and then I'm going to try and backtrack through the thread if time allows: <snipped for space> Was Mindy at the office so Nish could egg her Volvo? OMG! Why does that sentence sound so dirty? I thought that this moment might be a lead-in to why Veronica really gets ticked off and shows us that scene (which I thought was to be in this ep) where she says that 'this was something she could never get past'. But what - not sure. [/quote] I didn't even recognize Madison. That they would get into the limo was a stretch for me, too. As Sara said, they must have really wanted to help Wendy. Funny you should ask about the snuggling - I read something strange on the CW board, or it could've been a Supernatural Board. Anyway, a few were complaining about a lovemaking scene that Dean had and were hoping that the producers didn't show too much of that. I wonder how much pressure from some of the more 'family-oriented' fans/sponsors is put on the producers in that regard. Nice comments, Pixi. Everyone! I was a bit confused during the whole episode and need to rewatch.
