Here's the place to discuss tonight's ep!
I know - you're all thinking: But Spring, why haven't you been discussing with us? Where are your reviews and Fotada's reviews?
I haven't been discussing with you because various things have conspired to put me way behind in my viewing. Fotada and I hope to use the upcoming break to catch-up with "quickie" reviews. They will probably be somewhat shorter in length that what you are used to, but we want to get caught up, and then follow the season to its end.
I am out of town with family this evening and won't be able to watch the ep - but have fun!

Landry is either really cool or really disturbingly guilty.
Mindy Lake again.
Venetian blind shadows. classic noir device.
Every key on keyboard..
Stats and 27 color glossy photos recapitulated for Mindy...
O'Dell was that powerful? Huh.
Oooh! New information! Huh. Mindy was there.
"Known three men in your life, two are dead, State of California may see to the third" huh.
Classy of Keith. Compared to Lamb's swagger. I still miss the dork.

Multiple denials of Miranda rights.
He can't have done it.
There was a prenup?
Mindy set up Landry? So they each think the other did it, and neither one did it.
Mystery woman.
BRUNETTE?
Timbo! my vote.
So Landy thinks Mindy did it and is covering for her out of love.
"needle in a haystack"
Light out? huh. trapping him..
"pardon my manners" for breaking in?
"Not good in the field" and I DID IT...
"you... might be an assett" hee!

Heee! The freshman handbook doesn't cover where to sit in a class like that. Hmmm. Nice summing up by Keith of the facts. And yes, it was all angling to show how Landry or Mindy are the likely culprits. But I gotta admit, I want to know why her ex's prints were on all the keys. What was he doing there and when? Or were his prints somehow planted on the keyboard? "Let me remind you, I am your boss!" Nice to see the Dean again. ;D Hmmmm. Doesn't take much to have Mindy give up Landry. And later, it doen't take much for Landry to give her up. Guess they really love each other. Ouch. Keith got mean there at the end. 2 out of 3 gone and maybe the next on his way. So, she's a black widow? How very noir! ;D Landry is emphasizing physical evidence in his class. So, are we supposed to be paying more attention to that aspect of this case? Landry's alibi is actually a not too bad one. Not obvious, so seems less fakey. They could potentially find this woman and it would seem like a very natural real-seeming alibi. Tim visits Landry like Veronica visited the coach's kid. "Of course, it's always Tim." Hmmmmmmm. That seems like an indicator of Tim's guilt to me. Now he's sneaking into the PI headquarters, trying to help the prof. Asking for Veronica's help. That had to be painful for him. I can't decide if Tim is Landry's Veronica. Except not as good. Or if he is guilty and pretending to be hopeless at "field work" to try and rope V into "discovering" some evidence that Landry is guilty that Tim planted. Then he can be all horrified that his mentor did it when he really did. Like, maybe he planted the bug and is pretending to not know much about them.

"Smuggling cantaloupes in her shirt" hee!!!
"big ol' slutty chimney"
Plogan.
Seen by Wallace. Hopefully there will be MORE of him than that in this episode.
Oh so noir with the sunglasses.
Does she dim lights wherever she goes?
And she STILL steals from the Sheriff's office.
"very convincing behind that desk"
Oh, she's NOT sneaking. Okay.
Mindy thinks LANDRY did it, and is trying to protect HIM. Maybe.
"Strippers ahoy"
"Are you doing drugs?" "No" "Good"
Huh. Brunette with bad flashback highlights.

Landry is either really cool or really disturbingly guilty. Very nicely done. It could go either way, couldn't it? So very lovely. That sweep of hair. The shadows. **nods** I wonder if Keith is finding he misses him too. I think he very well may be, somewhat to his surprise.

Huh. Bugged?
Veronica, watch out with the abuse of the trust..
CDs
Taps? Other than the irony...
BAD reference...
And Tim's heard it before?
No, it sounds like she offered to take care of something, not to KEELL.
Wow, Landry's gone too? Not much better record than Lamb there.
Okay, wow, they REALLY DO look guilty.
I still think Tim did it. I'm gonna keep on thinking Tim did it after we see the videotape of Mindy and Hank shooting him. Tim ARRANGED it.

"Papa's cabin"
Actually, it's probably some creepy hemmingwayesque thing to refer to himself.
Oh, Logan getting his heart broken again...
Disposable Cell Phone. Oh my.
J.D.
Who is J.D.?
So go there withOUT backup..
Ah, Mom. Crapola.
Tim STILL did it. He THOUGHT it so hard he brought it into being. Especially with his creepy beard.

The convenience store camera wasn't hooked up and clueless "you gonna buy something" guy was on duty. Heee! Down on her luck Catholic schoolgirl smuggling cantaloupes in her shirt. Tim tries to be all detectivey and V. goes right for the "men are scum" we're all in this together, aren't we gals vibe. Logan and Parker and Wallace don't look too happy. Plus, Parker is doing a bit of the "why aren't you in class" thing now too. Mindy in a black lacy thing, with dark shades, collecting the insurance money and then buying an escape yacht. Can we get more noir than that? ;D "Here? In the cafeteria? At lunchtime?" Veronica doing her usual "I can snark my way out of admitting any emotion" and Wallace knowing her and not being convinced. She knows something's up, Wallace, she knows. Veronica being all "we're PI's together" at dad's office. And Mindy's on the lam. "Everyone hated the Dean." And Veronica looks disturbed and is all "not everyone". 'Cuz she liked him. And also, she doesn't like the idea that he was so thoroughly disliked. "If you want to know where I am, I'm hanging outside a convenience store, eating corn nuts and watching strippers." "Are you doing drugs?" "No." "Good." ;D Classic Veronica and Keith banter. Love it. ;D Hmmmmm. This stripper/hooker/whatever was . . . too quick to recognize a guy from months ago who gave her some cigs. So, did Landry set up this alibi? Did he and Mindy do this together and they are oddly alibi-ing each other by appearing to turn on each other? So they'll each get off because it seems like they would never have worked together, but they did? Oooh, like "Death on the Nile"!

Hmmmm. Landry looked like the stripper's ex. So, that lends a little more oomph to her story. But, is the believability true or was she coached? Veronica. Veronica. Scamming the cops still, even with daddy as sherrif. Good. ;D They search Steve's place, thinking he did the tapping. "I didn't know Night Ranger had this many albums." ;D ;D It's in Taps? Heee! Hmmmmm. I think that conversation between them could impliacte either Landry or Mindy. And then Tim hears Landry's opinion of him. I was thinking perhaps he had done the recording himself and planted them on Steve, but . . . he looked pretty convincingly upset and surprised at the call about him. Then again, knowing that Landry didn't help him with the application is a bit of a motive for framing Landry for the Dean's death. On Mindy's boat. It's Landry. So, was she expecting him, 'cuz they're in this together? Or was she running 'cuz she's guilty and he tracked her down? Or was she running 'cuz he's guilty and she was trying to get away? Or was she running 'cuz they were in it together and she double crossed him? The last one would be the most classically noir.

Huh. Tim's not too bad on the analytical..
CRAP it was Hemmingway himself. I HATE his nickname for himself.
They're both dead on the boat. Tim kiled them.
WHere IS Mindy?
Oh, she was NOT in it with him.
She fell where? Oh, overboard. So she swam for shore or drowned.
Asking for permission? Sweet, but would have been better if he'd just mentioned he was thinking about it.
Still think Tim did it.
Tim is gonna let on something he's not supposed to know.
Speaking WAY too much...
Ah. the blackmail call.
Tim. Tim. Tim.
Call your dad.
bug?
Ah, the England thing.
He WAS the one who had tapped the phone!! CALL YOUR DAD!!
J'accuse!
"And he'll change his mind about you not being that smart"
Yeah, but you're way too pretty to go to jail.
Damn. Landry still is screwed. Because he was a fool.
Business man dead? Who? Max, the Cigar guy?
Oh. Business man is "not important to this episode" guy.

Veronica thinks Landry and Mindy are in it together. Hmmmm. Tim has a key to Landry's place? Suspicious!! Looking for "poppa's cabin". That could be the name of a place, doesn't necessarily mean a relative's actual cabin. Parker visits to try and talk about Logan (sort of hanging out - which is actually a good way to describe it ). And Veronica dodges and avoids. What a surprise! Oh. Parker cares more about her friendship with Veronica and doesn't want to ruin it. So she stops things before they start. That's sweet. And sad. Disposable cell and pretending to be a rock station. You know, I think she's enjoying showing off her wiles and tricks in front of Tim. Crockett and Tubbs. ;D Of course. Aha!! The stripper DID make up the alibi! Woot!

Congratulations to MATTHEW! on voting for Tim to have done it!
(and also to whomever else it was that voted for him).
Excellent episode of typing everything together nicely!
Directing intense S'cubie anti-vibage at the Pussycat Dolls show.

Heee! Nice scene with Veronica and Tim trying to out-detective each other and Keith just getting the answer right away. A place name, Ha! I knew it. ;D Out to the boat and a drunken messed up Landry tells of fighting Mindy and over she went. Body on the beach and it's bye bye Landry. "Tried calling you chuckles, but it didn't stick. Some people are afraid of you." Interesting phrasing . . . And he comes right out and asks if it's OK to ask Parker out. Good. Some straightforward conversation between the two of them. It's good for them. Tim's taking over and asks Veronica to be his T.A. Because he knows he's not good enough? He's a bit too pleased to have the job. "Our professor murdered the Dean. Can't we discuss that?" And Tim is just oh way too happy to be all smart and "figure it out-y" in front of the class. Once a killer starts improvising, he gets sloppy. Like you're improvising now, Tim? It's Tim, I tell ya!! "When did he call her?" Oh, Veronica is figuring something out . . . A bug in her phone too. Aha!! I know Tim was pretending to be too dumb about the bug! Like Steve B would have known about stuff like that. How did Tim know about Mindy's kids. Ha! She's got you now, sucker. And she'd gonna prove it right in front of the class that you were so proud of showing off in front of. Stupid git. **happy sigh** OK. I'm very very happy that Tim was the killer. I've wanted him to be guilty of something from the start of the season. ;D Justice. It feels good, but it doesn't change anything. Very true. Dean is dead. Mindy is dead. Landry is responsible for her death and the two of them fought because they each thought the other was guilty. That's really rather sad. Nice ending moment with Keith and Veronica, though. But not enough Wallace. He keeps getting walk-ons. Why even consider that to be using him in the show? Nice mystery resolution. Very dark, with all those lives trashed. Which is also very noir, when you think about it.
