FRACK!!! What an ending!! Of COURSE the tests are never going to come out cylon!! Grrr!!! And the funniest scene to me is when they are all in the lab and Tigh and Adama do this take - looking at the President!!LOLOL!! Great episode - frustrating as heck, but really good! I know! Baltar holds all the power of knowledge of who is and who isn't a Cylon - even, it seems, over #6 - and the audience. He can also give a false positive if he wants to get rid of someone. Scary. So, it's going to take 61 years to test everyone. Why don't they build another testing machine? The whole testing of the blood reminds me of "Angel" episode - "Harm's Way" and how they tested the demons to see if they were drinking blood or not. And really, does it really matter in the long run?

OMG, when they all just paused simultaneously - too too funny and good! I paused and rewound that scene a few time - it was so funny!! And Lee's "If Ellen isn't a Cylon then we're in a lot of trouble." - perfectly delivered. That under the table action between Lee and Ellen was hilarious, too. Funny black humour! I'm so glad to see it.

I am extremely worried over Baltar's and, now, Six's interest in Starbuck. Interesting developments on Caprica - not only Boomer's actions, but the other human Cylons are starting to question things. Caprica!Six was looking pretty sick there when discussing emotions and passion and so on. Hmmmmmmm. I feel sorry for Tigh too. What would be worse, though? If she is a Cylon and they have to try to destroy the thing that looks like his wife and realize his real wife is probably dead? Or to have her not be a Cylon and have all the issues that she brings with her drag him back down? Lola Caprica!Six did look sick when they were discussing how C!Boomer 'loved' Helo now. Sick and maybe, I don't know, like she was holding back tears - of what, tho? Rage? Of envy and hopelessness? The other Cylon (what's his name?) did seem to envy being able to feel passionately. So, what makes C!Boomer 'feel' so passionately for Helo if she's just a machine?

I thought it was very interesting when Adama was talking about Tigh and how his 'love for his wife encourages his self-destructive tendancies", and then immediately after they show C!Boomer and Helo on the planet and it seems like her 'love' for Helo encourages her self-destructive tendancies. And by self-destructive, I mean that by her helping Helo, she will most certainly be destroyed by the Cylons if caught.
Very good episode.

Hee! Buckle up! That scene when Starbuck found Baltar 'exercising' and told him to zip his fly. Oh o funny and also Wow! I thought Starbuck looked a little sick in that scene. I think she's still affected by her encounter last week with Leoben. Can Cylons pass their 'essence' on to regular humans? Now that's one I hadn't thought of. And I don't know the answer. If Cylons could pass on their essence in that fashion, it would really throw a wrench in things. lol

Probably won't pan out, but fun to think about.

Well, fortunately, I at least managed to find the time to finally read your review before viewing the next episode, Havoc!
I was very glad you reminded me that we see Tigh pour out the last of his bottle. I remembered that he got out the photo of his wife and threw that away - the action almost seeming to be the "trigger", as it were, for her return. But really it was his decision to do without his liquor that was the counterpoint to her arrival. Bringing back the hard drinking fun times and chaotic craziness.
It was a clever trick to have Adama becoming erratic, allowing Tigh to be the cool head with the good ideas. Not only does it feed into the President's suspicions, but it also feeds the arc of Ellen and Paul - as if Adama's strange behavior is a pre-cursor to the disruption that Ellen will bring.
Loved all the humour you mention, the black humor running throughout the episode. From Baltar's embarrassing . . . um . . . display in front of Starbuck, to the Roslin and Adama "test this sample, no, test that one, no test this one . . ." dance, to the dinner party from hell.
You make a very good point when you say:
I hadn't really thought of it that way, but it really does explain why we have the running subplot on Caprica. It is the only way to give us a key part of the story. Otherwise our picture of the Cylons would be skewed and only partly seen.
We are learning more and more, though for each new fact we learn, we seem to be handed another question. Is Cylon!Boomer's story about the base the truth or a cover? Why are the human cylons so concerned about her possible emotions? How different are the human-looking Cylons from the other types and what place do they really have in their Cylon society / hierarchy?
Nice review, Havoc. I'm really looking forward to the next episode and everyone's thoughts about it.

Lola I'll start by saying thank you once again I try very hard to contextualize as much as possible so that my review feeds the bigger picture of what's going on without missing detail. The subplot on Caprica is a nuisance to me.. albeit a useful nuissance. Every episode that it continues with no apparent reasonable end in sight makes me wonder why we are there. The Central story point is the fleet. And the Fleet has moved farther and farther from Caprica with each episode. My instinct says that somehow, Helo ends up hooking back up with the fleet but I don't know how his Boomer figures into that if that is the point. I could also see him James Bonding his way into a crippling move against the Cylons; but, that doesn't somehow feel right.
