OK, so we don't have a thread yet for the 09/09 ep, but I gotta post
So, we get report that seems like it's gonna be snotty, but then is all respectful and will probably end up recruiting some much needed additional troops (and Roslin sooooo knew that would happen - you can see it in her face!) and then, bam!
Xena is a Cylon too. Well, damn.

Just didn't expect the Cylon connection.

Reviews have now been posted for parts 1 & 2. I really liked your comparison to Lord of the Rings! Expecially paralleling the folks on Kobol to the fellowship - the quest, entering the chamber ("speak 'friend' and enter") and the eye of Sauron. It made me picture the eye of a Cylon fighter, always sweeping back and forth. Very much liked your point about Adama's words when talking to the new CAG. "I love everyone on this ship as much as I love my.. my sons." It gives us a real clue to the actions he'll take in this episode, (deciding to peacefully search for Roslin's group), and the next, (his reunion with Apollo). Also, your point about the cost of a lie was very well put! Another great line of yours: "And the debate had with friends over the sort of man that Zarek might be have now given way to the actuality of the sort of man he is." Watching Zarek manouver and shift and morph over time has really been interesting to me. The conversation between Dualla and Adama is so key, so important - and I think you really put your finger right on why it will be important in the season to come. Thank you for pointing out a very important fact that I can't believe I when I first watched. The fact that Sharon knows what Adama said when the other her was "dead". That could be sooooooooo important to future developments! Thanks for the reviews, havoc! You've gotten me all re-enthused for the season to start back up again.

Welcome Coming at it fresh after a long pause was quite helpful. And I'm quite ready for January to get here I do have to note that I missed the moment Sharon gave that away on the first go round myself. Don't know how I missed it; but, when I watched it through again to write the review, it hit like a ton of bricks.

Thanks, Havoc, for your reviews of Home. I particularly appreciate your inclusion of the Biblical text and background writings. I'm much taken on where they are taking the BSG mythology especially with the Cylon monotheism vs the Colonial pantheon of gods as well as implications of interbreeding, and this adds so much to what we are seeing.
I have been reading your reviews and the discussion / prediscussion threads with great interest. Since I don't get BSG via cable I have had to endure the delay until dvd release and just got caught up with the pre-holiday Season 2.0 set (my Xmas gift to myself, I'm no dummy!). Can't wait for the new episodes. The second half trailer included with the dvds looks to provide a great arc from the set up in "Pegasus".
