Another terrific review - and written while sick!!! Amazing.
"The acting. Ron Rifkin, Mia Maestro, Amy Irving and Joel Grey all turned in fantastic performances, particularly Rifkin as the layers of Sloane's troubled psyche were peeled away to reveal a grief he'd kept buried for almost three decades. It's a further credit to Garner's work as a director that she was able to get such solid work across the board, including her own scenes. "
I agree - JG did a good job.
"Rambaldi goodness. I doubt the intent all along was to tie Il Dire and "peace" into OmniFam and a scheme for a benevolent global brain modification, but full props to the writers for coming up with such a creative and plausible way to tie all of those disparate elements together."
I think that after all the ooohhh the Rambaldi stuff is too complicated and out there talk from last season spurred the writers to try to at least be coherent when they brought him back this year.
I too liked the colors in the dream. Well done.
Though I must say - missing or dead baby is kind of cliched as a "horrible moment from my past" thing.
I wasn't all that enthralled with the plot line but I did like Grey's hey I'm Sloane talk. Hee, hee. Just very well done.
I also enjoyed your comparison of Buffy/Alias eps to this episode. Nice parallel.
Thanks again for a very interesting read Sara.
