This episode appears to be the first by writer Breen Frazier. Well, his first shot at live-action Alias anyway--he previously penned the animated story that accompanies the season three dvd set.

Dammit. I don't think Amy is one of the good guys.

Intriguing beginning. I'm hoping that Alias is going to pull one of its patented reversals and make AA's character a good guy after all.

"Agreed."
And if you believe that, I'm sure Sloane has a bridge to sell you...

*does happy dance over mention of the Red Sox* As both Lost and Alias have mentioned the Sox before, I'm presuming someone on the staff is a fan. But it also works a a fun wink to Ben Affleck's known baseball allegiance. Really digging this episode so far.

Amy's character smokes? And she's horny? Dude, I'm not sure my brain can take this. And I suspect her buddy Peyton is on to her. ETA: Oh yeah--I'm good.

Holy shit. Guess Amy's definitely one of the bad guys. Now I'm cranky. Happy to see her working, but cranky.

I dunno; that whole nerve agent murder of the folks in the teaser kinda makes me doubt it. "That's okay; I only need two." I mean, really. Syd was never that cold about murder....

Yeah, I know--I was just grasping at any straw I could. But once she was revealed as a smoker, that was pretty much it--you simply can't be a good guy on t.v. and be a smoker. It's just not allowed. By the way, the straw I'm currently clutching at is that if Rachel is Sydney at the beginning of Alias--finding out she's been working for the wrong side--then maybe Peyton is Sydney afterward, doing what she has to in order to bring Dean down from the inside. Which, since she had to know there was a chance the place was being surveilled, would include acting unconcerned about murder. Kinda like when Sydney pretended she believed she was Julia Thorne and shot that guy at Quentin Tarantino's behest. You can tell I spent my whole life rooting for the Red Sox, can't you?

I don't know about anyone else, but this may be the first episode so far this year that really felt like Alias. We had cool gadgets, a car chase, a good ol' brush-by, a race against time... all the usual staples. I genuinely enjoyed it. Oh, and I would join Rachel in recommending The Devil in the White City; it really is a very absorbing story. And considering that at no time did I feel any sympathy for the titular devil (H.H. Holmes, America's first true serial killer) as I read, I could empathize with Rachel's discomfort when Dean said that he did.

I thought aww look a shout out to Sara. (though I agree there's Ben Affleck tossed in there too). I liked the show alot. Fun to see Amy again since I missed her Supernatural episode.

And then the I'm a god so not really good but not totally bad. I would kind of like to see her acting chops all villainy. For a while there I was afraid we were doing Season 1, part 2 with Rachel taking Sydney's role. Thank God they didn't go that route.

I wasn't bored like I was during Sydney's sonogram. I was worried for awhile about redoing Season 1 so I was glad they caught on to her right away (she was doing a really poor job of acting normal) and blew everything up. Very nice.

This episode appears to be the first by writer Breen Frazier. Well, his first shot at live-action Alias anyway--he previously penned the animated story that accompanies the season three dvd set. Well, I'd have to say he did a great job! Loved this episode. That could be because Amy was in it, and a lot of Marshall. But I also like Balthazar Getty. (!) He's matured into quite a scruffy/sexy guy. The 'new' Sydney felt right in the role. And Dean - the devil in white city - was good, too. Peyton may believe she's working for the good guys, but she enjoys the evil aspects of her job a bit too much, I think. Plus, as Sara says, she smokes! I'm hoping for a backstory on her that will give her more shades of gray and some staying power. Guess I'll have to keep taping both Smallville and Alias this year. Oh and, Sara - any ideas on why they called it "The Shed"?
