Jack! Why did you do that? You could've set the explosives outside of the tomb. Stupid writers. More dramatic to make the grand gesture, but stupid!!!! I don't like it. I missed it before. I suppose that Grace got killed. Yeah. But he died to save everyone else in APO. And his end was, in a way, very reminiscent of Doyle--particularly his final conversation with Rachel.

Ok. Happyesque. Not happy, but not overtly spirit-killing either. No, I can definitely live with this one. I'm seriously bummed about Jack, but I've realized that in a way I wasn't expecting him to survive. And perhaps it's more fitting that he and Sloane essentially went out together. I'm still sad about Jack. I can't help it. It's a fitting end, but still . . ..

Isabelle's gonna put the puzzle together. ;D Yes, I could even see that one coming. I'm glad Sydney didn't see her do it. Do you suppose she would've downplayed the puzzle for Isabelle's sake? Nothing like telling a little girl she's 'special' and then watch her try and live up to it. Double-edged sword, that.

I kinda like this punishment for Sloane better... I very much like Sloane's perdition. Few hundred thousand years from now he may have learned something, if he's ever dug up. I doubt if he'd be sane in 500 years. Not that he is now. I wonder where Rimbaldi is. Did he live forever, too?

It's almost Dante-esque: Sloane spent his entire life fixated on Rambaldi, never able to move past him. And now he'll spend eternity literally stuck in that one place, the place that embodies what Rambaldi was trying to achieve. Contrapasso at its finest.

When Irina was on the glass reaching for the Rimbaldi globe, I thought of the 3rd Raiders of the Lost Arc. Don't these people watch the movies? I think I'll go watch the first hour now. Great chat, everybody! I really enjoyed it all season long.

He certainly achieved his object all sublime, didn't he? VERY Dante-esque. Still ticked about Jack and the lack of kevlar undershirts. But he got to destroy the worst threat to his daughter, the person that made her life hellish, in a way, and make sure that it was done, (the threat removed) and done right, so his conscience is eased.

I'm not sure I can properly word how this episode made me feel.
The cast and crew wrote, directed and acted the hell out of this finale. Almost every character got their opportunity to shine in these final two hours. Considering the network-mandated contraction of episodes, this is no small feat.
Spectacular stuff, with one great scene after another. I can't even write the actor's names without putting an minor expletive in the middle.
First example that springs to mind: Ron Freaking Rifkin and Kevin Freaking Weisman. How good were they? The unlikliest of characters to have a verbal confrontation...yet Marshall finally steps out of his awkward comic-relief shell to deliver one of the best verbal beat-downs in the show's history. Period.
I was grateful they gave the newest characters their moments, but mostly kept them in the background. The backbone of the show - the characters who made "Alias" what it was - got the most to do. Sydney, Jack, Dixon, Vaughn, Marshall, Irina and Sark had been around the longest, and deserved the lion's share of screen time.
I'll probably have more thoughts about actual events in the episode over the next few days, but I doubt my initial feelings will change...and those are feelings of gratitude. Gratitude for giving a great show a dramatic, action-packed sendoff that somehow feels right.

And I generally agree on the rest, too: Even Jack got a good death, a death in character. You express wonderfully the emotion I feel for the non-stop roller-coaster ride that was this finale... And I love your avatar sigline more than I can express in English.

Oh Amy... what did you do to our Marshall...? Did she pull off a fingernail? At first I was afraid she was chopping off a finger and I've already had that this season courtesy of DH thank you. Oh and it was great to see Carrie. I loved how we saw everyone - even Francie. Loved, loved, loved that - although Cariie - 4 boys? My advice - as the parental of 5 - stop for God's sake woman - stop!!!

Well, this is awkward unpleasant.. "You're tasking me? You think you're still my boss? I will not help you." I love Marshall. Oh god, Marshall, brave man. CRAP! She doesn't know? Didn't they MEET in the CIA beforehand? Yep, she did.. Ah. More orders not to tell. Heh.. she IS a tech, isn't she? Cool. Great. Electrodes. Maybe Dixon will get to kill Sloane before the end of these two episodes..... that would be nice. Oh, Jack, he's still the same man: it's just that he's less able to hide his obsession. "Moonglum of Elwher" Where's the ref from? "I tolerated you, because I had to. " I think I love Marshall Flinkman. "Which is why no matter what you do to me? I'll never help you." I've got chills. I need to watch that scene again. "I got a hangnail there, next to my thumb. Mind working on that one next?" Listen to your dead daughter, Sloane. Oh SHIT. Why aren't you using the APO approved Day-care team, Syd?! JEEZ. I really liked Marshall's scene there. They gave him a great scene in this finale and I appreciated that. Yea - he got his obligatory funny in the sauna but here was a more meaty scene. Yea Marshall and bye - I'm going to miss you.
