Well I loved this. It felt like perfect, classic Alias. Everything I wanted to see - I got to see. And as Rob said - everyone was acting their butts off. I applaud the writers for tying it up so neatly. I love the fact that we really don't know if Syd is out of the spy biz or not.
I love the fact that Sark is still out there doing his thing.
I love the fact that there is a baby Jack and that Jack, as Matthew said, died to save Sydney from Sloane, that Sydney got to shoot Sloane and bring closure to the world that had Sloane in it.
I loved this show - it was a terrific ride and while the deaths saddened me - they didn't feel like cheap deaths or gotcha moment deaths. The deaths were integral to the characters and the stories so I'm okay with that.
I just really enjoyed this. I can now rewatch Alias somewhere down the line, knowing there is a satisfying ending that brings me closure.
Bravo J.J., bravo Jennifer, Victor, Michael etc. - as the credits said - thanks for an incredible five years.
Pixi, good comments. Yes, the finale deaths were earned. I'm as peace with the losses. Jack because of his sacrifice. Irina because she deserved it. Others I didn't care enough about to mourn.
Yes, Sark is still out there. And AA too. A spin off may not have been a workable deal, but what about about a movie. JJ certainly has Hollywood stature and Jennifer Garner enough star power to make it work. A Sydney and Vaugh back in action one more time would not be out of reach some time in the future, would it? -- Especially if 24 can think of doing a movie version.
And yes, bravo to all! Although some of the plot straying in later years weakened my interest, jumping back to the finale tied up everything so well, served all the right characters and represented what made me watch and enjoy the series to begin with. Bravo, again!! And thanks to JJ.
