There was relatively little voting compared to previous years so we've been concerned that there might not be enough actual attendance at the selected date/location to make going ahead with S'fest IV in Chicago over Labor Day worthwhile for those who do the organizing.
We want as many folks as possible to attend S'fest because, yes, we like you and want to see you and have a bucketload of S'cubie fun! Consequently, we want to make sure it happens when and where as many of us as possible can be there.
So we're offering one more option here: If we get enough voting on the selected date/venue for S'fest IV, we'll do that. If not, we'll call a re-do for a later date and/or different venue in hopes that we can get optimum attendance.
Voting ends 6/15/07.

;D Or, you know, there's always PMs.... It's okay. I voted. Since I prefer Chicago, and the date is good anyway, I went with option one. Guess I'd better start saving for the trip.

Well, I don't know how to vote here. I THINK I could make it to Chicago on Labor Day weekend. I want to. I would plan to . . . BUT, I have significant unknowns here that could cause cancellation, due to my son's health, and then, my friend whose husband is so ill - and who is now being told he only has "months" - is my only back-up at work. So . . I hate to say "yes, definitely" to anything . . .
Well, what can I say. Whenever and wherever you have S-fest, it's my intention to do my best to attend.

So . . I hate to say "yes, definitely" to anything . . . Well, what can I say. Whenever and wherever you have S-fest, it's my intention to do my best to attend. Yeah, that. And what Onjel said. It is absolutely my best intention to be in Chicago that weekend, since Allie's lease starts Sept. 1 But since I need to bring both girls' up plus all their apartment furnishings the final timing may have to revolved around them, their roommates, their leases, U-Haul, and possibly even Jim's schedule so I can't be 100% firm. Since it looks like I'll be driving and I also have free housing nearby it's not like I can say I'm definitely locked in by plane reservations. So I really hate to say COUNT on me if something doesn't work out. But the intention is there. [On the other hand I might also try to make some other place on some other date if that's what works better for others. ]

Personally, it's the Labor Day Weekend that gets me. I usually reserve that for family, like Thanksgiving. From October through November I'm tied up with Faire. I can skip a weekend of rehearsal (late July through the end of September) since I'm not needed there. The location in Chi is not an issue.
The biggest stumbling block in my case is always Ian's health. If he's okay--I can make some plans. If he's sick, then not.

Or, you know, there's always PMs.... By all means, if you think you may be having PMS, staying home could be a very good thing. ;D Vlad Statistically, the chances are very high that SOMEONE will be having it on any given 3-day weekend. So if you're really concerned about it, perhaps it should be YOU staying home. For, you know, safety reasons.

It is with great regret that I announce that Rich and I will not be attending this year's S'cubiefest.

My intention is to attend...unless I get a new job and being bottom chick on totem-pole, must work the entire weekend because I am a worthless peon worker slave. Gotta get a job that pays now that I have to get a dumb mortgage. Stupid bills.
