Big Brother! I thought this was in the future. That's what I call progress. LOL! Transmat. The Android's word is law. It's the World of Game Shows! The Anne Droid.. omg..The Weakest Link - is Rose the weakest link? Mmmm...Captn. Jack. Ooooooo- I want a defabricator! *laughs* I'm not sure how they got away with Jack's downward glance and "Ladies, your viewing figures just went up." on a children's show. But the scene was actually cut. Originally, the camera did not cut away before Jack's naked behind was revealed. Honestly. The show's makers fought to keep it in, but it was considered a bit too risqué for 7pm. ;D I just wanted to tell you what you missed.

It's quite a ride, let me tell you. ;D But not as much as next week - a real emotional rollercoaster.

Evicted from life. Harsh! I think they were all better off being unwitting slaves. Or maybe not. Still, the robots are running the show in the future? Interesting that they have big skirts that they sort of float around on...

Big Brother, Weakest Link and What You Should Wear (or What Not to Wear, or whatever version you want). Eeeeeeeep! If that's the future . . . ;D Then we're almost already there? Except for the robots, that is. Altho, that woman from The Weakest Link, she was very robotic-like. Apparently, she's a sex symbol for some people in the S&M community. *shiver*

What cracks me up is that the robots are shaped like the actual living stars of the show What Not to Wear! Hilarious! And the droids were all voiced by the shows' real presenters. The production team was surprised that Ann Robinson in particular agreed to do it, bearing in mind the "depth of the satire". Amusingly, by this point the BBC's competitors were doing everything they could to steal some ratings back ( DW is the most popular Saturday-night television here, gaining an average of 7.5 - 8 million viewers). They put up reality television against the show, and it failed miserably. Hooray!

Oh, and I didn't watch the finale either, since I missed this one - although I did download it. Next week looks awesome! *smiling* It really is, and the drama is more powerful than the visuals. I laughed and cried. Some great writing and acting.

They should keep answering the questions wrong so that nobody wins or loses. An excellent idea. Rodderick, of course, wants to win.

I keep thinking we must have, that she knows them from a previous adventure. But I don't recognise her. We haven't, I don't think. Quite correct, but there is a link to something much earlier. When we saw the Emperor Dalek in the Second Doctor adventure "Evil of the Daleks" (one of the superior Dalek stories), it was similarly nested in tubes. There are Dalek images all through the ep.

Tubed up controller woman wants to die. She just wants to make sure her masters get theirs as well. She hid them in the game. Heeee!! Love the bit with handing the guy his gun. And he's all, can I set this down now? Yays! Rose not dead! Just a different transmat beam. So, where did the rest of the contestants go all these years?"There's a time and a place." ;D ;D ;D Who's been controlling and directing the human race for years. . . lurking out there, right on top of things but not seen . . . building up their strength . . . Hmmmmmmmm. Could it be . . . . . Daleks? Why yes! I just love the Doctor! "I'm gonna save Rose!" No weapons. No defences. No plan. Yeah, and doesn't that just scare you! Where, indeed? And also, why?

We haven't, I don't think. Yup. You're right. So, did she just see the Doctor in the . . . like, collective mind of the Daleks? Like, they were controlling her, but she also could see into them? And saw the Doctor there as their dreaded nemesis thingee? It's important to recognise that, for the Daleks, the Doctor is the ultimate in evil. DW fandom is a little confusing, because the mythos that the fans created massively out-weighs the original show in terms of sophistication. The novels came out, continuing the series, and then the audio plays, with original actors from the series. And the writers of these now write the show. Basically, the fans have taken over. It is almost impossible to say what is canon, because elements of the novels and plays are slowly being introduced into the series proper. A very interesting development. So, in fandom/canon, the Daleks see the Doctor as a kind of Boogeyman - a terrifying being who somehow threatens their existence (which is what their hysteria is based on). The have many names for him, including Ka Faraq Gatri (Bringer of Darkness/Destroyer of Worlds). Though, that is not their oldest name for him...

Gee, The Doctor is just collecting the sweet little blondes, isn't he? A stereotype of Big Brother, like bitchily camp men and pseudo-aggressive black women. *laughs* They used to send around a van, with an antennae sticking out of the top, called a "TV Detector Van". Supposedly, this could tell who was watching television. Hmmm.

I made this world. Yeah, Doctor "has a sense of time and can meddle 'cause he knows what stuff should be like". Hrmph. Look to the loss of your entire people, dude. You're a freakin' telepath whose entire race died. You might be off your game. And...Rose? Perhaps it's not so easy if another time-active culture is involved.

Hmmmmmmmm. Could it be . . . . . Daleks? Why yes! Yeah. The second she started talking about her "masters", I was pretty sure who she meant. My question is this: WHY? Why Earth? This Fourth Great Human Empire or whatever must have been pretty impressive for the Daleks to go to all that trouble to stop it happening. And why not just exterminate the species earlier? I guess 'cause they tried that, before, and failed? And finally - that's a mighty inefficient genocide technique you've got there, Doctor. Half a million survived? The Dalek fleet was the first time, ever, that anything having to do with Daleks managed to frighten me. You may find them suitably nasty next week. A good point. Their reasons are a long way beyond fiendish.
