Yes! But, no! They weren't any old giant crabs, they were the Macra, last seen in the classic Second Doctor story, "The Macra Terror" (1967). Forty years since their last television appearance! Click here to find out more. The tapes are lost, sadly, but I have a copy of the soundtrack. "There are no such things as Macra!" A far better episode than "The Shakespeare Code" (which was not as good as I'd hoped). I loved all the references to Gallifrey. These actually go back to the First Doctor. The descriptions of the sky and so on are quoted from the Doctor's first companion, his grandaughter Susan, in the episode "The Sensorties" (1964) "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide With Me" were both used well, the former carrying a kind of sick desperation while the latter was all about hope. Also, how come there's a DW Season 3 (29) thread, when it isn't being broadcast in the US yet? Aren't all these technically spoilers? Now I come to think about it, that applies to Torchwood , too. Well, that was before we had an Arch-Technopagan in residence in the UK. Mwah ha ha. *gasps* The revenge of the colonies! ;D

Heeeee! Wicked boy! Well, if you figure that the episode threads are there partly to keep the west coasties from being spoiled on shows that will be airing a few hours later, (although mostly to help people keep track of the conversations) then this one is just saving folks from being spoiled on something they're seeing several months later. It's so... daring! Your logic is perfect.

I'm always spoiled, anyway. Time is like a a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey, spoilery stuff.
