Part VI
Offer to help the Rachnos. And they refuse.
The Time Lords destroyed the Rachnos.
Drained the Thames. Oops.

Part VII
The Doctor made snow. Cute.
The Doctor is lonely and wants her to be his Companion. And she refuses.
You stood there like a stranger.
And the Doctor won't even go in for Christmas dinner. He just runs away.
Promise me you'll find some one. Cause sometimes you need some one to stop you. Yep.
Be magnificent. Is that like "be fantastic?"
Her name was Rose.

I felt this was kind of meh.
Donna was annoying, which I didn't like, but goal-oriented, proactive, and speaks her mind, which I did like.

I love that scene when the TARDIS is flying alongside the taxi and the kids are watching and cheering them on. Fun music, too. Kind of has an old-fashioned feel to it. So fun! I love how the kids are yelling "jump, jump!" to her. ;D I couldn't have done that jump, I know for sure! Scary! But the bouncy, spinning TARDIS? Holding together with string and hope? Too perfect!

The Empress is so over the top, with the snarling, and the teeth and the German accent. "Eat you up all snicker snacker. Little traveling man." Yeah, you and me both. Loved how . . . . gothic she was. And the spider effect was nicely done, with the multiple blinking eyes (shivers) and the movements and the legs (shivers again). And everytime she made me shiver, she'd make me giggle too, because of her over-the-topness. ;D Plus, of course, the giggling because of how the Doctor reacts to things. "All the way through to the center of the Earth!!!!" **evil teeth and hissing** " Really? Seriously, what for?" ;D ;D ;D

Donna is very .... normal looking. Rose was too, of course. **nods** I liked Donna. She was snarky and feisty (the best ones are, of course) and doesn't hesitate to snap at the Doctor (or smack him one) when he would go all babbly and non-explain-y. And she could be hurt and mad (the look on her face when she realises what Lance had done ) but at the same time, she doesn't let that blind her to how she also cares (saying "he deserved it . . . no, he didn't" and being upset at how the Empress was crying for her children as they were drowned and being the one at the reception who pointed out to the Doctor that there were injured people that needed help). And she's practical - when she sees the solar system being born and is all "puts the wedding in perspective"). And she has a normal looking body and face, very much a real person. I really like Martha too! ;D I elaborate on that more in the next ep thread. Companions, IIRC, have always varied a bit. Not always Earth people, both men and women, not always just one, different personalities and styles, etc.

What IS it with automatons and Christmas on Earth? Dude! Tell me! It's like some kind of theme or something! Santa Robot had his marching orders, eh?

I love that scene when the TARDIS is flying alongside the taxi and the kids are watching and cheering them on. Fun music, too. Kind of has an old-fashioned feel to it. I sorta wondered why he didn't just materialize around the cab...but I guess the TARDIS wasn't working properly? Or he didn't want Scary Santa on board? I was thinking he didn't want Scary Santa and a speeding cab on board. And that the Tardis wasn't nimble enough to go just around her. Well, and that he hadn't yet totally figured out the thing about the TARDIS grabbing her because of the special radiation thingees inside her.

Part I Opening out onto the void. Why would you even be able to do that? Donna. You're human? Yeah, is that optional? It is with me. Rose's clothes. The TARDIS is digesting? Donna sees the inside of the TARDIS first, then the outside. Wasn't that cool? I've been trying to think if she'd the first person we've met whose seen the inside before the outside. Makes the "it's bigger inside than out" joke even funnier. Plus, of course, the running gag about the pockets and then at the end, he's got pockets that do the same. ;D Lots of harking back to Rose in this, which is to be expected.

Part IV Last of your kind. Like the Doctor. Excellent point. **nods** Really rather nicely done, wasn't it? And we could all see that he was gonna end up spider food all along anyway. But I liked how they did another parallel with the Doctor in that the spider-woman tempted Lance with the same kind of "opportunity to see the universe" thing that he says to new Companions and so on. ;D

Part VI Offer to help the Rachnos. And they refuse. And that's what dooms her/them in the Doctor's eyes. Because she's sort of right that it's just the way they are, they're born hungry, etc. But if they won't take the opportunity to go somewhere where they can live and eat (presumably non-sentient things), then they're just choosing to kill. Doesn't it always come back to the Time Lords, eh? Heee! I thought of that when he was pouring all the water down into the center of the Earth. Only, if you could actually do that, you'd drain, well, almost all the water everywhere, wouldn't you?

Part VII The Doctor made snow. Cute. The Doctor is lonely and wants her to be his Companion. And she refuses. I like that she knows herself. That she sees it's beautiful and terrible and knows that wouldn't work for her. She wants to see the world - not the things he has to show her. Yup. Doctor in full "not dealing" mode. **nods a lot** Donna was a bit on target there. So at least he's able to get that far now. Saying her name.

I felt this was kind of meh. Donna was annoying, which I didn't like, but goal-oriented, proactive, and speaks her mind, which I did like. I liked Donna, for all those qualities and because she was just so . . . herself. Not being what he'd, or anyone else, would want her to be. I mean, yeah, she was screechy annoying when yelling about the wedding and the dress, but then again . . . she was scooped up right in the middle of her wedding and no one seems to be big on telling her what the hell is going on right off the bat. And when she sees the bigger picture and what needs to be done, she jumps right in.

Ah, yes, but most of these people here don't get the BBC. My advice (and I know of what you speak) is to put it in the spoiler thread.
